Chapter 40 - Visit to the cafeteria

As we walked along Emi and I were talking about various things, I was quite excited since this was the first time we had spoken properly, plus I must mention, Emi who was already beautiful became incredibly beautiful, she really looked like a goddess who had descended to the mortal plane, in the meantime while we were talking, I confirmed a few things about Emi that I had suspected for a long time, although Emi looks incredibly inexpressive, she actually expresses herself a lot with actions, this makes her extremely cute.

"So... how's your store going?"

Emi asked still with her inexpressive face, another thing I noticed about Emi is that she is a person who is extremely fascinated with technology, this makes her sometimes act out of character when she is excited about something.

"It's going well, we are planning to do something big in the future but for now I have only given the concept to the people who will be involved in the project, but I intend to do several things that I have been thinking about"

Hearing my answer I could see the small gleam in Emi's golden eyes, she really was fascinated by this kind of subject.

"Do you want to talk about it later?"

I asked with some hope, although I know she is only interested in the new information I will give her I still want to think it will be a time when we can talk for a while, hearing my question Emi stared at me for a few seconds before answering.

"I would love to, what do you think about us meeting at the palace this weekend?"

Hearing her answer, I was surprised, initially I thought we would simply eat something in the academy cafeteria and chat.

"Are you sure about that?"

I asked a little wary, not that I didn't like the idea and just that going to the palace was something strangely out of the ordinary for me, when we had something store related to resolve that needed the palace's permission usually the one who would go in my place would be Rebecca or Aria.

"Yes, I'm sure my parents would also love to see you again"

She said starting to walk right away.

(Was this really, okay? I mean, she is a princess, is it so normal that I go to the palace like this? or is it because she considers me someone special?)

Putting these thoughts out of my mind I run to catch up with Emi who was walking a little ahead.

"We are here"

Said Emi as soon as I approached, when I looked where she was looking, I realized that we had already arrived at the women's dormitory, the building was quite nice with a huge garden at the entrance.

"It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to accompany you princess"

I said, although she allowed me to call her by name, I feel it would be awkward to call her at this point, still expressionless she just looked at me for a few seconds before entering the dormitory.

"Well, I guess now it's time to go see who my roommate will be"

I said turning around and then headed towards my dorm, the female and male dorms were relatively close to each other so I basically had to walk for about 3 minutes before I got to the male dorm, the entrance was very similar to the girls' dorm so I simply ignored this part, as soon as I entered, I saw that the place was quite nice and immediately went to the stairs leading to the second floor, as soon as I reached the front of the room to which I was assigned I opened the door and was surprised to see that there was already someone inside.

"Oh, then we'll be roommates, and a pleasure Ren"

Eric said as he pointed his hand in my direction, without a second thought I accepted his handshake and put a smile on my face.

"I'm glad you are my roommate Eric"

After the introduction I started looking at the room, it was a relatively spacious room so it was easily enough for two people to stay in it, after I finished packing up Eric and I decided to check out the cafeteria while we took our time to eat, after we left the dorm, we started walking towards the cafeteria, as it was between the male and female dorms it was pretty fast to get there, it probably wouldn't take us two minutes.

As soon as we got to the dining hall, we entered it while we were anxious to see the types of food that were served, the place was quite crowded showing that several people had the same idea as the two of us, as we walked to the we noticed a black hairdresser among the people waiting in line, it also seemed that she had noticed us.

"Oh, Ren, Eric, did you guys come to eat too?"

Said Flora waving at us.

"Hello Flora, and a pleasure sailing again"

I said as soon as we approached, after that the three of us waited in line until it was our turn, which didn't take long and soon it was time to choose the food, the menu was quite varied and there were several foods that commoners normally couldn't eat, there were also some foods that you had to pay to eat but they were practically premium which didn't change the fact that they were more delicious than usual.

(But really... this world still lacks a lot of balanced nutrition and more varied foods)

I thought as I looked at my plate.

"I Ren, if you don't hurry, we will leave you behind"

I snap out of my daze at Eric's voice.

"Oh, sorry about that, I was thinking about some things"

After that the three of us walked to a part that was relatively empty and sat down, as I looked around it was obvious the distinction that had been created, basically commoners and nobles did not sit together, while I was thinking about this, I heard some shouting coming from the entrance of the dining hall, as I turned to face the direction of the shouts, I noticed that Emi had come to the dining hall as well, but soon my smile turned to a scowl when I noticed who was standing next to her.
