The next day, I went early in the morning to Henry's store. As I looked outside the carriage, the previous day seemed to be repeating itself. It was almost impossible to see any movement outside. A few people were leaving their stores open. After a few seconds, the carriage had finally stopped, indicating that I had arrived. As soon as the door was opened by the coachman, I stepped down from the carriage and thanked him. While the coachman waited for me outside, I began to walk into Henry's store.
As soon as I set foot inside Henry's store, I heard the relatively loud sound of something exploding. A smile made its way onto my face since I knew exactly what this sound meant. If I was hearing it, it could only mean that the invention I had asked Henry to make had worked or was at least on the right track. With a smile on my face, I started walking to the back of the store where Henry's workshop was located. As I started to approach the place, a puff of smoke began to appear.
Upon entering the shop, I saw Henry with a small round ball in his hand. As soon as he pulled the pin, he threw the small round ball towards the wall and turned around. In a few seconds, a small explosion happened. From what I could see, the smoke was not coming from the small ball Henry threw, but from the wall itself.
"Hey, Henry"
I said, walking into the workshop. As soon as he heard my voice, Henry turned to me and cracked a smile.
"Hey, brat, you finally arrived. I thought I would have this fun all to myself"
Henry said as he walked towards me.
"Sorry for the delay, but from what I can see, you didn't need me here"
I said with a smile.
"Humpf, who do you think you are talking to? I did exactly what you asked"
Henry said, handing me the grenade. As soon as I took it in my hand, the first thing I noticed was that it was quite similar to the grenade that was in my old world.
"All we need to do is fill it with the liquid you said you would, and they will be ready"
Henry said with a smile.
"So..."
Before I could answer, Henry started to say something again.
"Go out there and kick that idiot king of Storne's ass"
Said Henry, extending his arm in a handshake. With a smile on my face, I shook Henry's hand.
"That's exactly what I intend to do"
I said. After that, I gathered all the "Grenades" that Henry had made and carried them all into the carriage. Since Henry didn't know exactly how many I needed, he made as many as he could, and he made a lot. We could probably put almost all of Storne's 180,000 soldiers to sleep if we threw these "Grenades" at strategic points. After putting all the grenades in the carriage, I climbed into it and said goodbye to Henry. Then, I headed off in the direction of my store. After a few painful minutes inside the carriage, my store was finally in sight.
As soon as I stepped out of the carriage, I said goodbye to the coachman and the carriage drove off in the direction of the castle. As soon as I entered the store carrying the bags containing the "Grenades," I went up to the second floor and entered Ammy's room where I found Ammy and Rebecca together. Ammy seemed to be making some minor modifications to the sleeping gas formula, while Rebecca seemed to be just watching. Catching their attention with the door being opened, they both looked at me with a smile on their faces as if they were waiting for me. But soon their gazes turned to the bags that were in my hand.
"What's that?"
The first to ask was Rebecca, however, the look on Ammy's face seemed to say that she was wondering the same thing as Rebecca.
"These are the containers we will use to fill with the liquid. Once we are done filling, we will do a demonstration in the castle at her majesty's request"
I said, placing the bags on the tables. As soon as I opened the bags, I pulled out one of the "Grenades" catching Rebecca and Ammy's attention.
"This is the device I asked Henry to make for me. As soon as you pull this pin, it explodes"
I said, placing my finger on top of the pin, making Rebecca and Ammy panic.
"W-Wait a minute, Ren... if it explodes, isn't it better to be careful?"
Rebecca said with a frightened face. Seeing her expression, I almost felt like laughing, but I held back my laughter and explained to her.
"You don't have to worry. It was made so that it can't be activated accidentally. This pin is actually quite hard, so you have to push hard to get it out"
I said, making Rebecca and Ammy relax a little.
"Anyway, you open this compartment here and fill it with liquid"
I said, showing them where the liquid would go in. After that, Rebecca, Ammy, and I were filling all the grenades with the liquid. The amount we were putting in was quite small, so we could probably fill them all since Ammy was able to make quite a lot of it. After a few minutes, we managed to fill all the "Grenades" that I had brought.
"What's in that other bag?"
Rebecca asked.
"Oh, inside are some masks. They are to protect you against the gas. Since we didn't make many of them, only the people who will actually be exposed to the gas will use them"
I said as I picked up one of the masks. Unfortunately, the mask was not exactly like the one from my previous world. For a start, there was no gas tank, so the most one could wear this mask would be for about 3 to 4 minutes. The people who will wear these masks will be the few people who will spread the gas, while the others will shoot with arrows, knocking down the rest of the enemies. Of course, I am also included in the group of people who will wear these masks. After all, I volunteered for this war.
