Maxwell watched Mellisa's back as she ascended the stairs. He had always known that deep within her was a devil, but she had always been too scared to let it out. Now, however, her fear was beginning to dissipate and her true self was emerging. Maxwell was glad to see her standing up for herself against people like Tina. He only wished that one day she would find the courage to confront Zick and put him in his place, just as she had done with Tina.
Maxwell smiled as he rose from his chair. "Michelle, please take ten cars with the guards with you. I'm going to go and get ready for work. Please take care of Melissa, I know that some people must be thinking about how to punish her for the good deed she had done," he said with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
"OK dad, don't worry I will talk to Ronen," Shina replied.
Maxwell then left the dining room and headed to Melissa's room. When he arrived, he found her sitting on the bed, seemingly lost in her own world. He walked to the bed and sat next to her. "Melissa, this is for you," he said, showing her a beautiful necklace made of pure diamonds. "This necklace has a GPS tracker in it, so if anything happens to you I will be able to find you. It's not that I want to spy on you, but I don't trust Zick at all.
Mellisa took the necklace from Maxwell's hand, feeling a sense of determination. She had been through too much with Zick and didn't trust him anymore. "Thank you," she said. "I know you're more powerful than him, but please don't do anything to him. People like him have nothing to lose in life; they only care about their obsessions and nothing else. I don't want you to fight with him and get hurt.
Maxwell's voice was cold and unreadable as he replied, "I won't fight with him if I want to punish him. I would have cut off his manhood and fed it to the dogs. But I want you to deal with him. Show him how strong you are. If you do that, then I promise I won't do anything to him.
Melissa looked up at Maxwell with confusion in her eyes. "Why do you have so much trust in me?" she asked.
Maxwell smiled and replied, "I know you are strong, but you've been afraid your whole life and that's why you look like you are weak. But I'm here with you now, you don't need to be afraid. I will stand by your side no matter what, you can even use my name to fight your haters."
Without thinking, Melissa hugged Maxwell tightly. "Thank you so much, I have no words to describe how thankful I am to you," she whispered in his ears.
Maxwell chuckled and said, "You can thank me by not being a crybaby and facing your fears." Melissa pulled away from the hug and glared at him. "Are you insulting me? Am I a crying baby?" she asked.
Maxwell couldn't help but chuckle again and said, "You look so cute when you are angry, I can't help but want to kiss these pouted lips of yours.
" Leave my room now, you are talking nonsense. Melissa said annoyance was visible on her face.
.
"Okay, I'm going to work now, I will be out of the country today. I'm going to Country Y for a meeting at my other company there. Please take care of yourself and our babies okay, if I don't come today I might come tomorrow," Maxwell said. "Tell others in Tina's absence, I don't want her to take advantage of my absence and bully you."
"Okay, have a nice trip, and take care of yourself," Melissa said. "Don't worry about me because I'm not afraid of Tina at all."
"Won't you give your husband a goodbye kiss?" Maxwell asked.
"Stop talking nonsense and get out of my room," Melissa pushed Maxwell off her bed.
With a smile, Maxwell left Melissa's room, he was glad that Melissa was not treating him indifferently like she did at the hospital.
Tina was seething with anger; she could not believe that Mellisa had been so insulting. She had always thought of Mellisa as a quiet girl who accepted whatever life threw her way. She quickly called Zick and told him of the change of plan, giving him the address of the mall where they could find Mellisa.
After a few hours of preparation, the group of four girls finally left home and headed to the mall. The car was in the middle of a line of five cars in front of them and five cars behind them. In no time, they arrived at the mall and entered the building.
Shina turned to Melissa and asked, "Have you given my dad a chance? What's your relationship status now?"
Melissa bit her lower lip, unsure of what to say. She replied, "Your dad and I, we are just friends and nothing more, nothing less, for now."
Michelle chimed in, "Meaning that there will be something right? And how was last night? I want to know everything in detail. I know that something happened between the two of you.
Mellisa frowned, thinking that this topic had been forgotten. "Don't be so shameless in the presence of the child, are you forgetting that Linda is still a minor in this topic?" Melissa said, lightly hitting Michelle's arm.
"You are right, from today we won't go out with Linda," Shina said.
Linda pouted her lips, feeling left out. "Why would you leave me alone at home? Mellisa is my mom, and if it weren't for me, you all wouldn't have met Mellisa, which makes her mine, right, Melissa?" she said, giving Mellisa puppy eyes.
Mellisa smiled happily. "Yes, I won't leave my baby at home alone. She will go out with me, and you two can go out together with these dirty minds of yours," she said, making Michelle and Shina burst into laughter.
