Stumbling Across A Scene

Just outside Peng City was a forest containing countless beasts ranging from the first level to the third level. Each level matches the corresponding human cultivation level.

"A rank 1 beast is equivalent to a Martial Realm cultivator. It's corpse can fetch around 200 gold and if it has a core then it would sell for 500 more"

Doing the math, his face darkened.

"Only every 1 out of 10 beasts would have a core and that's only if I'm lucky. If I'm not lucky then I would have to hunt at least 500 rank 1 beasts"

"Hey System, do you have a spatial storage space?"

Current System has a 5 by 5 by 5 meter space

Doing some more math, assuming that most rank 1 beasts are around 1 meter long, Han Fei would have to make several trips back and forth.

He had already memorized the contents of the techniques he bought and now it was time to actually use and practice them. And what better way to do that than fighting against early rank 1 beasts?

New Mission

Slay beasts 10x

Difficulty: Easy

Reward: Yin Yang Sword

Han Fei had entered the outer area of the forest. This is the safest area and peak rank 1 beasts are rare. Within a few minutes he had found a low level rank 1 black bear.

"Heaven Flipping Palm"

Using 3 Step Movement, Han Fei appeared behind the bear like a ghost and stretched out his palm. It landed squarely on its head and sent it flying through the air.

Boom!

It crashed into a tree a few meters away and collapsed, life and death unknown.

"..."

"isn't that way too powerful?"

Heaven Flipping Palm

Rank: Mortal (Peak) (Incomplete)

Proficiency: 0.002%

"Roar!"

A fierce killing intent appeared behind Han Fei and he quickly used the Earthen Shield Wall to protect himself. The wall broke down as it was made in a hurry and a brown limb smashed towards him.

"Ugh"

Han Fei was sent tumbling and crashed into the corpse of the black bear he killed before. He stood and quickly dodged when he saw a large figure charging his way.

"Heaven Flipping Palm"

It struck the side of the bear and it was pushed back a few steps. Not giving it a chance to breathe, Han Fei lurched forward and struck it in the head.

"Han Fei finally relaxed after the second bear had fallen.

"Guess I was careless and almost suffered greatly for it. Good thing my reaction speed is fast"

If he hadn't defended against that strike then he would have been left heavily injured or even dead. The earth wall had reduced the power behind that strike by around 50% thus allowing Han Fei to take it without sustaining heavy injuries.

"Phew, this is 2 already. 8 more until I get that sword and a lot more until I pay off my debt"

He stored the corpse of the 2 bears and went around trying to find lone beasts he could kill. With his current strength, he can handle around 3 low level rank 1 beasts at a time and any more might pose a threat.

Yin Yang Sword

A black and white sword appeared in Han Fei's hands.

Yin Yang Sword

Rank: Black (Peak)

Description: Can cut through anything of a lower rank with ease

Flaws: Chaotic energy, Hard to control

Advantages: Contains the energies of Yin and Yang

"Not bad, a sword whose shortcomings are its greatest strength"

Swish!

Han Fei slashed a snake that was trying to sneak up on him. The high level rank 1 beast with a neck 1 foot thick was easily split in half.

"Sigh, even with this weapon it will still take a long time to hunt several hundred beasts"

"Hmm?"

With his superior senses, Han Fei picked up a sound from far away. Not being able to suppress his curiosity, he quickly made his way towards the source.

100 meters away, he hid behind a tree and saw an interesting scene. 2 white robed young men were crouched over an injured young woman. He hid himself even better and waited to see what would happen.

The woman was extremely beautiful and her current predicament made her look even more pitiful. She spat at the ground where the young men stood.

"To think I trusted you pieces of trash"

"Heh, you shouldn't have let down your guard then"

"Why? We are from the same sect. There is no reason for this to happen"

Han Fei then understood that this was a classic scene where a sect disciple betrays another due to greed and lust.

"Too bad we have to kill her"

They smiled sinisterly "But we can have some fun before then"

The young woman looked at their faces with despair. She had used up all her energy and her Dantian had been sealed, resulting in her not being able to commit suicide. She watched as they stretched their claw-like hands towards her slightly torn dress and she shut her eyes.

A few seconds passed and nothing happened. She was startled when she heard 2 thumps against the ground and opened her eyes.

2 headless corpses greeted her. A white robed figure stood with a black and white sword stabbed into the ground. The young woman looked up and saw a strikingly handsome young man looking down at her with a benevolent expression.

"Are you ok?"

That snapped her out of her shock and she blushed "Y-yes"

She took his hand and stood up. Her movements had been freed once the 2 traitors had died.

"You are...?"

"Me?" Han Fei gave her a smile "I'm just a lone wanderer who stumbled across injustice"

They talked for a while and Han Fei got a lot of valuable information as well as why the young woman was targeted.

Her name is Hua Mei and is a disciple of one of the 4 great sects of the region, the White Sword Manor. Her sect is partaking in the disciple examination and she was out training with a few of her peers.

However, she had obtained a treasure that allowed her to soar to the top of the outer court with a cultivation base of peak Qi Gathering at the age of 18 and was a likely candidate to become an inner disciple and even a core disciple with endless prospects.

Han Fei told her that he was going to participate in the examination and she handed him a gold medallion.

"This is a pass that I was given in case I found someone of high talent. Even if you don't pass the exam you can use this to join my sect"

Han Fei accepted it and put it aside. He wanted to join a sect with his own ability and not rely on external connections.

"Oh right!"

Hua Mei went back to the corpse of her former peers and took 2 rings from their corpses.

"Here, I hope you accept my token of appreciation. You saved my life after all"

Han Fei took the rings. Though he looked calm, his heart was excited.

"Hehehe, cultivators shouldn't be poor, right?"
