3rd Person POV
"These are called Winter Sprites. These ones are low rank and very numerous. They aren't hard to control, but there's a limit to the power they can exert."
The woman's body and face were blurred. A little girl with mid-length white hair, dark blue eyes that seemed to shine, and a cute smile on her face looked on excitedly. The Winter Sprites seemed to dance around the pair. They seemed to be in a cave made of ice. Dark in color, yet everything seemed to shine like no other.
"Winter Sprites have weak will and can barely be considered sentient. However, we have a special connection to them. Because we are ###### ###########."
The words seemed to distort into something unrecognizable. Despite this the woman continued on.
"My child, only through repetitive use and hardships will you be able to grow. The powers imbued in our souls are something no one else can match up to. All you need to do is use your head, and you will find things not so difficult."
The woman touched the young girl's head. After that the surroundings started to fade. Everything turned to black.

Back to the Main Character
I opened my eyes and stared blankly at the dirt above me. I blinked a couple times before looking around. I was still in my home.
'That was a strange dream. Who was that woman? Maybe it's my mother? Then again I have the feeling that's not quite right.'
I thought about it a bit more as I sat up. I tried to grab something only to grimace in pain. I looked down at my arms. They weren't bleeding, but I was covered in blood. My shoulders slackened a bit as my stomach rumbled. I sighed.
'This is a problem. I can go out and get some berries, but being covered in blood isn't a good thing. Then again it is frozen, so the smell shouldn't be all that strong.'
The Winter Sprites were still floating around. I looked at them and felt a stronger connection than before.
'Using the Winter Sprites uses quite a bit of mental energy. Using, not exactly the best word to use. Either way it is true that I'm using them. I can use them to make things, but what should I make? I can kill pretty easily with the use of Winter Sprites. Unless a pack of wolves finds me I should be fine.'
With a plan in mind I stretched my limbs a little. After that I looked at the small bush in the corner. Nothing had changed, so I left my home. I looked around and noticed that nothing had changed. I saw some tracks, but they belonged to an Elk.
'Should I try to hunt and kill it? I don't have much experience hunting though. And Elk tend to be rather strong. I'm not even sure how to fully utilize my powers. I'll start small first. I don't need so much meat anyway.'
With that in mind I started making my way west. I went west because I remember there being berries over there. Where there's berries, there's rabbits. And I really want rabbits. A bath would be nice too. Even if I find a river or pond it'll most likely be frozen. I could move or break through the ice, but the water would still be freezing. I'm not exactly fond of slowly freezing to death while bathing. Either way I don't want to stay dirty forever.
After a bit over 2 hours I arrived at where I found my first berries. Not the poisonous ones. However most of the berries were gone now.
'Seems rabbits and other things are around. I do remember seeing a couple around here. Should I find a place to lay nearby? My white hair should help me blend in.'
As I was thinking I looked down at my bloody figure.
'Well I can also act like I'm dead near the bush. I won't really be able to open my eyes though. Smaller animals like rabbits aren't exactly easy to hear either.'
A mulled over how I can fix this problem. My eyes landed on the Winter Sprites.
'Well they did warn me of the wolf from before. They also guided me to my current home, and this berry bush.'
I whispered.
"Can you guys tell me if a small animal like a rabbit is around? Like, lower the temperature around me or something?"
The Winter Sprites around me moved around a bit faster. I took that as a yes. I nodded and started digging a couple inches into the ground with my feet. After that I slowly laid down in the snow.
'This could go well, or very badly. If a bear or another predator comes I might die. The Winter Sprites do what I want, l but I don't really know the specifics. Like the time when I killed the rabbit. And yesterday when I killed the wolf. I had no specific idea of what I wanted to happen. Perhaps it was left to the Winter Sprites on how to go about doing it. Quite unfortunate I don't have the time or resources to test things out. I'm sure I'll get a chance later though.'
As I closed my eyes, I completely relaxed my body. I was motionless and covered in blood. I highly doubted anything could tell I was alive. Unless they got close enough to check. By that point they would already be dead though. I didn't really have any reservations about killing, but I certainly didn't enjoy it.
As around half an hour passed I felt the temperature suddenly drop. Recognizing the sign I focused on my ears. As silence pervaded throughout the area, I started to feel a little anxious. Soon I felt something wet touch my neck. My body involuntarily stiffened. That's all it took for whatever it was to start running away. I quickly opened my eyes and identified it was a rabbit. By this point it was already around a meter away from me.
