Chapter Ten

My mom was defiantly not going to be happy and I was going to be in a lot of trouble but considering that this is my first time doing something like this I think my mom will go easy on me. Taking off my jacket, I place it on the table next to me. I've never actually been in a fight before but there's a first time for everything, plus I've trained all my life to fight and defend myself might as well put it to good use and I think teaching a bitch some manner is a good use, wouldn't you say?

I can't wake Wynter yet and this is bound to get dirty so I might as well take it outside. Looking around the room for the best exit I notice everyone looking at me. I guess standing in the middle of the cafeteria talking to myself would warrant some attention. Oh well! Spotting the open window at the back of the cafeteria, I walked back over to my friends took my phone out of my pocket I checked to see how much time I have. It's 12:30, lunch is for an hour so I need to have this wrapped in 30 minutes.

"Hey guys, can you watch my stuff for a little while please."

"Yeah, sure but where are you going," Lydia answered taking my phone and jacket.

"I'm just going outside for a few minutes, hey Tameka can I borrow one of your hair ties?"

"Sure here you go."

"Thanks, I'll be right back." Walking away from them I pull my hair into a ponytail using the hair tie. I headed for Jason's table where Jessica was still sitting on his lap, the entire cafeteria following my every move. She had her back to me so she didn't see me coming but he did. I walked right up to them, stopped at his side, looked down at him, and smirked. "Tell your dad my mom says hi." My words were louder than necessarily needed to be causing Jessica startled and jump off Jason's lap.

"I guess you didn't get enough of a beat down bitch, who the hell calls a slap a beat down "guess I'm just going to have to put you in your place again."

"I was hoping you would say that." I smiled sweetly at her before my fist connected with her face. I made sure to put my weight behind it too so when I heard the bone crack I was satisfied. She's a wolf so she'll heal but not before a couple of days with a broken nose. She screamed and covered her face, Jason made to get up from his seat but I put my hand on his shoulder and lowered my face to his ear, "I wouldn't do that if I were you." He growls lowly but otherwise made no further attempt to move.

Turning my attention back to Jessica who was glaring murderously at me. She was shaking and trying to control the shift.

"Let's take this outside."

I ran the short distance between us slamming my body into hers, using the momentum to push my body upwards lifting hers with mine, and slamming her into a glass window three feet away. The window shatters and Jessica went flying, glass and all through it. I made sure to brace myself has not to follow her out the window. The cafeteria erupted into chaos, I ignored it. My focus was on Jessica that was face down in the grass when I looked out the window. Grabbing a tray off Jason's table, and used it to remove the rest of the glass from the window so I wouldn't cut myself on it. Hopping onto the ledge of the window I jumped out landing in a crouch position.

Jessica gets to her feet, shaking like a leaf. Her yellow eyes indicated her wolf was now in control and she was about to shift. I ready myself as she came charging at me, shifting in midair. I dropped to the ground and rolled out of the way, getting to my feet I took off running. The space behind the cafeteria was very confined so I needed to draw her out into the field. I looked over my shoulder and she was gaining on me. Deciding that this was far enough I stopped and turn to face her, I waited for the right moment to strike and when she launched herself at me, I stepped to the side, and as she goes flying by I grabbed a fist full of her fur at the back of her neck. Using it and the momentum as a lever to hop onto her back then locked my arms around her neck as we both went flying through the air and crashed into the field.

She landed on her side pinging one of my legs under her and when she tried to turn her head to bite me I brought my elbow down breaking her rib. She leaped to her feet whining. I don't give her time to recover, getting to my feet, I jumped in the air spinning before bringing my foot down on her head. We were now surrounded by half the school. She recovers and threw her right front paw out, I was faster but in her wolf form her reach went further and I barely escaped her claws. I backed up and out of her reach but she launches herself at me again, just as I expected her to. Planting my feet I brought my upper body backward, so I'm bending in half at the waist and just as she launches at me she goes right over my head. Even though Wynter is asleep I'm still able to tap into my wolf's powers and just as she passes over me I brought my right arm up, claws out and sink them into her belly. Airborne and with no way to stop her momentum, my claws slice through her like cheesecake, leaving me covered in her blood.

Oh, sweet Jesus, I feel like I've been run over by a truck, and for a werewolf that speaks for itself. I can't even muster the energy to lift my fork to eat my dinner, I just sit there staring at the plate while my mom eats. Five long hours of training every day for the past week was my punishment for putting Jessica in the infirmary and for breaking the window in the cafeteria and I didn't even get to test out my theory of Jason touché not affecting me as much or at all when Wynter is asleep, something that I needed to do before I could make my next move.

Jason was walking around the picture of calmness since I'd put his girlfriend in the infirmary. Normally he walks around with his head in the sky, arrogant and egotistical not to mention temperamental, but for the past week, he seems subdued somehow. Part of me thinks he's still in shock from what happened in the woods and then at school with his bitch but that can't be just it. There has to be something more to it and I was damn sure going to find out what it was. Tonight though, I need a hot bath to relax my muscles than a full night's sleep.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

"For the love of God, shut up."

Groaning I opened one eye and whack the stupid alarm clock with a hairbrush I had on the nightstand, effectively shutting the stupid thing up. I feel a lot better today, but my muscles are still a bit sore. Five hours of training a day will do that to you, but other than that I feel pretty good. Getting out of bed I head for the bathroom to get ready for school. I took a quick shower, straighten my hair, did my makeup before leaving the bathroom, and walked to my closet to find something to wear to school. The first thing that caught my eye was a grey strapless dress so I pulled that out, going to my dresser I pulled out a strapless bra with matching underwear and begin getting dressed. I added a pair of combat boots and my red leather jacket to complete the look.

"Mom, you here? No answer, entering the kitchen I grabbed an apple, then went to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water. As I'm closing the fridge door I noticed the note on the door. Grabbing the piece of yellow paper I read the note out loud.

"Hi, sweetie,

"I've gone to visit some friends I'll be back tomorrow morning so please stay out of trouble and I expect you to still train even if am not there. "You need to work on conjuring and controlling your fire. Love you and see you soon."

Mom.

Throwing the note in the bin I grabbed my car keys off the hook and headed for the garage. Has I'm pulling out, Tameka's car pulled up at the curb with Lydia in the front seat. I forgot to tell them that I'd be taking my car to school today and not riding with them. This was the first time I was driving myself to school in a week because I was either too tired or too swore to drive myself.

"Hey guys sorry, I'm taking my car today."

"It's cool let us go then."

She and Lydia drove off and I followed behind them. School was a long and boring affair today and Jason wasn't there. Neither he nor his pack of mutts he calls friends, which only stem to piss me the fuck off. I can't make my next move if I'm not sure if my reaction to him is only caused by the mate bond. He was able to tell that we were mates when Wynter was asleep but her being awake seems to heighten that and I can't have that.

Something is up, I could feel it, but the fact of the matter is I'm a Beta wolf and twice as powerful witch, Jason couldn't touch me with a ten-foot pole covered in pixy dust so I'm far from being worried. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious.
