At times, our assumptions are influenced by the visual information we perceive. On other occasions, our assumptions are deeply rooted in our emotions and the way we experience the world around us.It's not uncommon for our natural instinct to protect ourselves from emotional pain to lead us to assume that situations are aligning in our favor, even if they're not.And there are moments when our overwhelming fear of facing the harsh realities of life causes us to believe that we are ensnared in a never-ending, surreal nightmare.Have the assumptions we've made really brought any positive changes to our lives? No, they haven't. Assumptions have no power to alter the truth or the reality of any situation. They are incapable of shaping the outcomes we expect. Most importantly, assumptions cannot magically make someone fall in love with us.It occurs exclusively in the realm of fantasy and dreams. These dreams serve as a blissful sanctuary created by our minds to provide comfort and joy in an often solitary world. This happy space induces smiles as it prompts recollections of happier times, constructing an elaborate and fantastical world for us to wander in.The love you have for yourself surpasses any love anyone else could possibly have for you.Freya is somewhere now, realizing things. She surely loves Roman. However, she is unable to accept Ayan as her son. Her eyes try to love the boy, yet somewhere she knows this child is Amelia's son.Looking at his face, she realizes that she is hating her friend, who wishes nothing but good for her. She often encouraged her to do a fashion walk at a college or school festival.Because of her nervousness, Freya will not eat anything, and Amelia will often wait for her to finish her task. Then, they'll eat together.A tear slipped from her eyes as she watched Ayan in a daze while the boy was eating the food his mom had prepared."Mumma, food is tasty." Ayan mumbled while chewing with pouty lips. He looks up and sees tears in Freya's eyes."Mumma crying?" His tiny fingers carefully wiped away her tears."Why is mom crying?" Tears brimmed Ayan's eyes as his lips wobbled. "Why crying?"Freya quickly wiped away his tears before Mrs. Rayden could see them, as the lady was talking to the teacher."Nothing, just dust," Freya replied, rubbing her eyes. She wipes the excess tears and forces a smile, watching the kid smile along with her."When will you come home?" Ayan asked while keeping the spoon inside the box and closing it. "Papa misses you." He juts his lips. "Because of the promise, I can't tell Papa about Mumma."Freya watches Ayan, who has similar habits as Amelia. He may look like Roman, but his major personality is Amelia. He has the same habit of keeping the spoon inside the tiffin box as hers."Papa misses me?" Freya asked while wiping the boy's lips with a kerchief.Ayan nodded with big eyes. "Yes. Papa hugs Mama's photo."Freya gave a sad smile. This is what I wanted. I can finally marry Roman. Then, why is my chest hurting so much?Ayan sips water and looks around. "Mama, the teacher did not come today."The softness Freya was feeling has surely vanished upon hearing the name.⋇⋆✦⋆⋇When we find ourselves confronted with the worst possible scenario, one that we could never have imagined experiencing, the thoughts and opinions of others may not have the same impact as those of our loved ones.Sitting on the hospital bed, Dean thought, What if Nathan had crossed his line? What if he tried to touch him against his will? What if he tortured him for running away?He felt a hand on his head, flinching his thoughts away."Is it so painful?" Ethan asked while looking at the doctor dressing his wound. Dean slowly shook his head, looking at the doctor."Are orange juice and bread jam okay for you?" Roman asked while entering the cabin.Dean's eyes gleam as he leans forward unconsciously.Ethan noticed and stood up, as he was sitting next to Dean. He smiled and gestured for Roman to sit in his place."You must not have eaten." Roman paused his action of taking out bread and juice as he looked at the doctor."He is fine," the doctor informed Roman. He looked at Dean and asked, "When did you get a tetanus shot?"Dean blinks and does not remember or understand the word.Reading Dean's confused face, the doctor explained, "It's given when your kid and adolescent are too. Uh, when was the last injection?""Will it affect his heart?" Roman asked while pointing at Dean. "He got heart surgery."The doctor looks at Dean. "When did you get the surgery?""It's four years," Dean whispered, glancing at Roman. The lady's heart you have. It wasn't just an accident. The doctor shook his head. "Nothing will happen, as it's been a long time."Roman nodded. "Then, please give him a shot."Calder walked inside and gestured for Roman to come out. Roman nodded and gave the paper bag to Ethan."You too, eat something from this," Roman whispered as he remembered Ethan staying with him all the time, and for sure, the man hadn't eaten anything since last night.Ethan gave a quick nod with a smile.⋇⋆✦⋆⋇Roman leaves the room and sees Calder sitting on an available chair for the visitors."So," Calder starts, licking his lips with a chuckle. How the hell should I make this man understand himself better?"Roman," Calder calls and looks at the man, who is looking back at him with a confused gaze. "What's your favorite food?""What rubbish! Is this the time to ask such things?" Roman retorts while standing up."Why? Nothing happened to you. Why isn't it right?""When did you become stupid? Can't you see Dean is inside and getting treatment? Heaven knows what he might have faced, and you are asking about my favorite food?"Calder crossed his legs and looked at Roman, whose temper was reaching high."So what? The situation is under my care now. He has his brother with him." Locking eyes are with Roman. "What's your role or importance here?""Uh, why are you interrogating me?" Roman points at the room where he came out. "Aren't you supposed to ask Dean about this matter?"Calder raised his eyebrows and nodded. "Yeah, I'll do that. You don't have to teach me my work."Roman looks away, taking a deep breath.Noticing the change in Roman's expression. Calder smirks, tapping his foot on the floor.Roman snaps his head towards his friend. "Don't tap your foot on the floor. It's a bad habit."The officer gave a smile. "I'm not your son; you're teaching me manners."The veins on Roman's forehead throbbed with anger. Why is his friend acting this way?"Fine then! If you don't have anything better to say, I'll go." Roman spoke with finality in his voice."Where are you going?" Calder asked, standing up.Roman's patience is reaching its melting point now. "To Dean, of course! What is wrong with you? I don't understand; why do I need to explain myself here? When should you be catching that, Nathan Raynott? He fucking used his money and power to capture Dean! What does he think of himself? Just because he has money, he can do anything.""Why does it matter to you anyway?" Calder asked with a smirk while stepping on the closure."Why the fuck will it not? Dean is inside, getting treatment. He must be in pain.""His pain shouldn't concern you.""Well, newsflash! It does. I don't want to see him hurt.""It's his leg. What has that-""Shut up! Didn't you see how he was crying? I have never seen him be so vulnerable. He always stood so strong.""Well, many are the same as him. What's so--""He is different. He is important to me.""Why is he imp-""Because I love him, damn it! Those cries are ringing in my ears. I want that asshole to stink in prison and never see sunlight."Roman expected a retort from Calder. However, the man gazed at him with a soft smile.Keeping his hands inside his pocket, Calder whispered, "I'm glad that you know your feelings." He walked towards the room."Wh-what nonsense!"Calder raised his right eyebrow. "When everyone believed Dean was no more at some point, it's just you who didn't believe it, regardless of who said what. You didn't give a thing and knocked that doctor, putting him inside his car." He sighed. "Mind telling me, when did you start doing those types of stunts?""I-"Calder raised his hand. "Don't answer me. Answer to your heart."Roman stood frozen when he realized what he just said. He pressed his palm against his mouth. He screams in his palm.Fuck! Fuck! Shit! I love him. Why is my face burning now?⋇⋆✦⋆⋇Mr. Rayden watched Nathan step towards the coffin. If it were some other time, he would have bowed his head, as he's still in debt to his father. Even if he pays the money, that man will still owe him. But the repayment cannot be in the form of his son.Nathan looks at the closed coffin. If it were Dean, he would have drunk poison and slept next to him. He chuckled, imagining himself as Romeo and Dean as Juliet. He concealed his smile with a cough and enclosed his palm while closing his eyes, praying for the soul to be at peace. He turns to the distressed mother, who is pushing the water away, whereas Mr. Rayden tries to feed her some. He walked toward them with a gentle smile.I'll tell them later about his son. Probably when I'll announce our wedding. It'll be a private one with just us. Officially, Dean will be mine.Remembering Dean requested that he take care of his family. Nathan looks at the lady."Please don't cry; Dean is in a peaceful place now. Away from all the troubles, safely tucked in calmness." Nathan said while glancing at the husband and wife. The lady simply nodded her head and held her husband's hand, leaning against his chest."I'm not good with words; please don't take me wrong," Nathan whispered and looked at Mr. Rayden. "But your son is in a good place. Please don't worry about him."Mrs. Rayden looks at Nathan with tired eyes. "Are you saying he wasn't happy with us? He didn't find our home a safe place. Please..." Mrs. Rayden whispered tiredly. "Just let us be."Nathan pressed his lips together and nodded timidly. "I'll go then."At least he tried. Dean will understand.Mr. Rayden panicked, glancing at the entrance and wishing his sons would arrive. He never handled these types of situations. How will he do it?"Please do eat before leaving." Mr. Rayden said, hoping the man would nod and spare some time here.Nathan glanced at his guards and his wristwatch. "No, I should be somewhere else at this moment. I am here to give my condolences."⋇⋆✦⋆⋇"Get the best lawyer in the country!" Mr. Raynott shouts at his secretary, who whispers yes and runs out.He tapped his finger on the glass table, which resonated in the pin-drop silence of his office as he waited for his elder son to receive the call. The call ended with a line that was not reachable. Mr. Raynott threw the phone against the wall. "What's wrong with him? So much guts to not pick up my call? Nobody is picking up my call.""What do they think of themselves? Did Morgan forget who his father was? He thinks that by not picking up my call, he's doing a favor to Nathan." Mr. Raynott grits his teeth while pushing his hair back."Si-sir,"He glared at the lady, who trembled. If it were not for the high salary package, she would have left long ago. She immediately looks down and inhales deeply."Sir, I called the lawyer. He'll reach here soon."Mr. Raynott sighed and nodded. "Who is the officer? How did he dare to reach my mansion without my permission?""I'll check and let you know.""Fucking be fast! What are you, twelve, that I need to feed you everything? Can't you use your brain and be ahead?" He sighed at himself. "After this mess, you are fired!"She looked down while blinking her tears and whispered an apology."Who has the guts to go against me? I should stuff money in their mouths like last time." He smirks, feeling happy that everything will be in his favor yet again."Later, I should just throw Nathan in front of gay fools. Useless fellow!" He slams his fist on the handrest. "Always causing trouble."⋇⋆✦⋆⋇Calder watched as his subordinate asked questions, and Dean answered truthfully."So, something pierced on your nape?"Dean quickly nodded his head. "I felt dizzy and lost the energy to even walk. Later..."Roman stood next to Calder's chair while watching Dean talk and sip the juice. He needs to clarify before Calder grows trees out of assumption."Look, Cal, it's not what you think," Roman whispered in his ear as Calder narrowed his eyes toward the man."Really?" Calder shook his head. "Are you lying to me or yourself?"Roman shook his head and massaged his forehead. "This is... This is not right. What nonsense did you fill in my head now? Just those words are running a marathon in my head."Calder looked back at him and gave an innocent smile. "I didn't say anything. It's you who said those things, and now it's you again who is denying it." He shrugged his shoulders. "I was just asking questions out of curiosity."Roman was still not ready to accept. "This is not right anyway. He is a man, and so am I."Calder sighed to himself and opened his eyes dramatically. "Are you homophobic?""It's nothing as such." Roman pressed his palm on Calder's lips. "Keep your voice low."Calder raised his eyebrows. "Then, why are you in denial?"Roman's eyes turned blank as he took a moment to answer him. "This is not right. How will I face Amelia? She is my only one."Calder gave a small smile. "So, you are worried about Amelia. Shouldn't we appreciate the love reaching out to us? Not everybody is lucky enough to find love twice."Roman shook his head. "Dean doesn't feel that way. He may have respect for me. I don't think it's love."Calder sighed again and whispered, "Hold my chair from the back."With a confused gaze, Roman held it tightly, thinking the chair might be broken."Why are you sitting on a broken cha--ahh?"Roman held his fingers, which were throbbing with pain, as his dear friend slammed the chair against the wall while he leaned back on the chair with full force."How--" Roman couldn't finish his sentence. His hand was jerked forward by Dean.Dean looks at the fingers with furrowed eyes. They turned pink with knuckles burning."It must be painful. There are no cuts, right?" Dean asked Roman while inspecting his hand."How can you be so careless? Someone is sitting in the chair, leaning against the wall. You'll get hurt." Dean spoke with an angry voice. His chest is burning because of Roman's stupidity. He looks at the nurse. "Please get ointment, spray, or something to lessen the pain."He looks back at the wide-eyed Roman. "What are you five? Ayan is much smarter than you."Roman's heart pumps blood at a fast rate. He could see the worry in Dean's eyes. The way he's scolding and running towards him, forgetting his pain."Is this proof enough?" Calder asked while zeroing eyes on Roman. He quickly turned around before Dean could see the mischief in Calder's eyes."Guys, the statement and witness are enough, right? We don't need any more proof to arrest Nathan Raynott." Calder asked his team. They nodded their heads."Write an arrest warrant on Nathan Raynott and get the signatures of the judges ASAP."Chris spoke up, "But, sir. It's a cognizable offense. We don't need a warrant."Calder smirks. "They are rich. So, they'll get the best lawyer who will make this crime look less like kidnapping and ask us for a warrant." He smiles at Chris. "We should be prepared for anything."Everyone nodded their heads.Calder glanced back and sighed when he noticed those eyes yet again. He chuckled, looking at Ethan, who was smiling too.His chuckle brought Roman back from his happy, shy gaze at Dean.He quickly looks away while taking his hand from Dean's grip.Dean frowns. "Let me apply the ointment."Roman stutters, "It's not so...""Did I ask you to talk? Now, it will not hurt. But tomorrow, you'll feel it and remember me." Dean snaps while pulling Roman's hand closer. He carefully massaged his palm.
