“Jackie?” Vince speaks up lazily.

Jack opens his eyes.

“Hi.” He smiles.

Vince looks up at the boy, arms still around his torso, and his face is illuminated by sunlight. His stomach drops in a way that makes him feel like he’s flying. He wants to lean in. Jack’s heart drops in disappointment, but he still smiles through it.

“You tend to hug things in your sleep.” He says. “I know.”

Vince blushes and looks down.

“Yeah…”

Jack looks away, searching for his phone.

It’s almost one in the afternoon.

He sighs, relieved that he didn’t have any morning classes.

“What time is it?” Vince asks sleepily, rubbing his eyes.
