Horror Movie 1

A woman was frantically running down the empty city street. Her face which was covered in snot and tears was twisted up in a grimace. She went in and out of the shadows cast by the streetlights. This kept up until she stumbled over her own feet and fell to the ground.

She looked back and saw what caused her current state. The clown had a huge, twisted mocking smile and was covered in the blood of his other victims. He started approaching her while dragging his bloody axe behind him. She backed away from him until she hit the wall and could go no further.

"HELP! HELP!" the woman screamed hoping that someone would hear her. It was her misfortune that those who would help her were asleep and those awake were unwilling.

"PLEASE! MERCY!" the woman yelled while the clown only got closer. She knew pleading would do nothing as psychos who go around dressed like a clown while carrying a bloody axe were not known for their mercy.

The woman closed her eyes and hoped this would be over quick, but she knew that the clown would make this long and painful. She felt the axe strike her thigh bone and tried not to cry out to not give the clown the pleasure. She was unable to keep it in any longer when the clown got to the other bone in her thigh.

When it was over, the woman was not relieved, she was worried about what she was going to lose next. She sat there trembling, weeping, and waiting. When she could no longer hold in, she opened her eyes and looked at what was happening.

She saw a tall man with the skin of a corpse, wearing casual clothes, and circular glasses hiding his eyes. There was a portal made up of the night sky behind him and white threads connecting his fingertips to the clown's body. The man pulled on the threads and the clown's body fell to pieces, both figuratively and literally.

"Killer clowns, so cliché." Said the mysterious man.

"THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! HOW CAN I EVER THANK YOU!?!?!" the woman said with relief.

"Don't mention it." The man stated.

"No really. What can I do?!" The woman asked hysterically.

"Really. Never speak of this again. When you are dropped off at the hospital, the staff and the police will want to know what happened. Mention the clown, not me." The man said deadpan.

"I promise." The woman said before she passed out from blood loss.

The man summoned a blood red thread and bone needle and reconnected the woman's leg. Unfortunately, the leg was severed sloppily with a blunt axe, as a result when the leg eventually heals it will leave a nasty scar. Something told the man that she won't mind due to the fact that she still has both legs.

The man, who was obviously Victor, then summoned a shadow golem. He then sent the golem with the woman to the nearest concentration of disease and health essence aka the hospital.

The shadow golem had the appearance of a petite woman with a black bob cut and wore an all-black suit. He imbued it with a basic artificial soul, made of soul imbued mana and data collected from various organisms. This resulted in a creature that could only respond to preset situations with preset responses.

After the golem was gone, Victor counted his spoils.

The clown's corpse was practically dripping in fear essence and blood intent.

He distilled the fear essence into his newest heart emblem, Fearful Heart. It had the appearance of a yellow heart wrapped in black barbed wire. It allowed him to detect and draw power from the fear in the hearts of others. The tattoo was still in its infancy, but like the Beastly Heart it would grow as the number of victims increased.

Fearful Heart

'I can hear your heart beating outside your chest'

Grants the ability to detect and draw power from fear

He distilled the murderous intent into a knife seemingly made of a jawbone. It was imbued with the concept of murder, which would allow him to kill anything that was not too high above it in conceptual weight. That currently was only base humans, so it was basically a scary knife at the moment. However, as more murderous intent was fed to the blade it would grow more and more.

'The last thing Abel ever saw'

Kills anything at the same or lower conceptual level

After that was done and he did the usual draining of various essences, he walked away from the husk and thought on his current situation.

Based on the clown's corpse, he was able to analysis at least one of the power systems in this world. The power system he discovered involved increasing specific attributes, changing based on the person or thing in question, using fear and vile deeds. The Fearful Heart was based on this system as it increased the attribute or attributes of his choice using fear in a similar way, but with one key differences. That is the fact that the increase is temporary as he did not want to be corrupted by the power source.

The next thing he learned about this new world was that the very air was infested with dark magic. This had several effects. The first is that dark magic is empowered and all other kinds are suppressed. The next was that dark emotions and thought would grow ever more present in the minds of inhabitants. The last and most critical effect was that people, places, and things would spontaneously evolve or develop abilities.

In response to his new urban environment, Victor crafted Concrete Shoes, a magical artifact that he created from the surrounding concrete essence and a sliver of essence he extracted from the city's artificial lifeforce. They were high-tops seemingly made of gray concrete. Their main abilities strengthened Heart's Web when in an urban environment and strengthened his material weaving when it involves materials that were part of a civilization.

When that was done, he set out to explore the night life of the city he found himself in.

Apparently, the city he found himself in had a fairly high crime rate as not even ten minutes he found himself at the end of a gun.

Due to the new world's will, he decided to use the magic he developed back in what one could call magic college, Blackened Heart Runes. It won him the equivalent to the valedictorian position and subsequently his job after. While that ended in torture for him, the parts before were pretty fun, so there's that.

The runes were virtually useless as anything they could do another set of runes could do better. Their only advantage was that they operated off dark mana without corrupting the user. This property was virtually useless as people who use black magic don't tend to care for sanity. The only reason the rune set was notable or remembered was because he created them so young, at the age of twenty-four. Most wrap up their careers with developing a rune set if they were even that talented or lucky.

The only reason he was using them now was because dark magics were empowered in this world.

A simple sleep rune sent his "attacker" collapsing in a heap on the ground. Victor then rooted around in his pockets for cash. It appears the robber was having a good night, before he met him of course, as he had several thousand in cash.

Victor headed to the nearest motel to spend the night using his new cash inflow.

When he arrived there, he found a room bursting at the seams with dark mana. He entered the room to see what happened.

He found a corpse dyed pitch black with curses wrapped in a suit that appeared two sizes too large. He proceeded to investigate the room to discover more information about the situation.

He picked up the dead man's phone and found it needing both a retinal and fingerprint scan. That level of security filled him with anticipation about what could be on it.

Victor created two key chains to access the phone, Glass Eye and Green Thumb. They were designed to mimic a person's eye and thumbprint respectively. Glass Eye had the appearance of a stained-glass lens that looked like an eye. Green thumb had the appearance of a wooden thumb. They were tier 0 trinkets.

The phone contained information on strange happenings around the country and a most wanted list of various monsters and beings, in other words a magic collector's wish list. It appears that the corpse was an agent of a secret government organization.

Victor took his FBI agent cover badge and car keys, placed the corpse in his storage space, and stored the dark energies contained in the room into a magic glass flask created to store various energies.

Now sleeping in a dead man's bed and stealing his things is immoral, But Victor was never known for being particularly moral. On the other hand, he was known for repaying his debts, thus was planning to find the party responsible and put them in the ground to keep their victim company to repay his debt.
