Nifemi's gaze sharpened as Jade mentioned the Hellgate Seal. Tommy, still catching his breath, frowned. "Hellgate? Sounds like a bad metal band."

Jade's smile didn't waver. "It's a relic that opens a doorway to the Abyss. If activated, it'll unleash things that make Raigian look like a stray kitten." He nudged Ezzy with his foot. "Up, Sleeping Beauty. We need your nose."

Ezzy rolled over, burying her face in the pillow. "Mmph. Smell… bad sulfur already… go away…"

Grumbling, Ezzy rubbed her eyes. Her pupils dilated, swirling with faint gray smoke—the mark of her Sin. She pressed a hand to the ground, and the shadows around the demolished building writhed like ink in water. "Ugh… traces lead southeast. Old city district. Feels heavy." She yawned, waving her arms to vanish the dust and stains from her clothes.

Tommy crossed his arms. "How's a hell-portal key even work? Do you, like, stab it into the ground and yell 'open sesame'?"
