CHAPTER 13: LOST HIS SOUL
Everyone kept minding their business as they continued with what they were doing,the employee's wanted to persuade Jeremy to let go but he seemed scary and they were just workers at the club,they didn't want to annoy anyone,who would want to lose their job for being too nosy.
Once they were outside they saw Barbara's mother standing outside and she looked really angry. Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief,at least someone who could help her take care of this jerk Jeremy.She ran towards her but she was ignored instead.
"Finally she is out of this godforsaken place". Margaret said as she looked disgusted just staring at the club,she could see the pole dancers from the open doors.
"Jeremy please take her home".
"Mum could you please tell Jeremy to let go of me".Barbara said angrily
Margaret ignored her and spoke to Jeremy instead "Take her home directly ".
"I don't want to go home with him".Barbara said as she kept struggling which made Jeremy carry her on his shoulder.
once they left Margaret stared at Evelyn for some time before breaking this silence.
"Evelyn you know the kind of reputation our family holds and you know Barbara's status,so why would you let her come to such a dirty place?"Margaret asked but didn't wait for a reply before she continued "stay away from my daughter from now on,she would be getting married to Jeremy soon and i don't want anything to go wrong".
"you know your perfect son in law hit her right?"Evelyn said
"Most times women do thing's that make men angry you know...i don't need to explain anything to you,you would never understand since you've never had a man of your own"Margaret said as she smiled at Evelyn and walked out
"God I've never seen a crazier old woman".Evelyn muttered to herself "And i forgot my bag in the room"She stared at the club as she took a deep breathe
She went in and took her bag,just when she was coming out of the club she bumped into someone.
"Ouch"Evelyn cried out as she rubbed her aching shoulder,she looked up and found out that the person she bumped into seemed abit familiar.
"I think I've met you before". Evelyn said "and those pretty eyes of yours"she muttered under her breathe
"We met at the sanatorium the other day".Lucas said "I would never forget a beautiful face such as yours".
"Oh my, it's pretty...."Evelyn was stuck here, she really didn't know what word to use to use for the places they keep meeting,she watched as the guy smiled at her
"Am Lucas by the way"Lucas smiled and he brought out his hand to shake her,he had really beautiful fingers.
"Evelyn"She smiled as she shook his hand.
"i know this is pretty abrupt but can i buy you lunch the next time we meet?"Lucas asked
"your pretty straightforward but sure "Evelyn said 'i so much love his eyes,it looks so clean'
Suddenly Lucas phone began ringing,he checked it and saw the name [Jacob] .
"Okay let's talk next time we meet".Lucas said
"Your so sure we'd meet again?"Evelyn's asked as she laughed
"It's fate".Lucas said
"Well mr fate see you next time"Evelyn said as she smiled and walked to the parking lot.
Inside the club in one of the rooms was jacob sitting on the with a bottle of wine as he poured some into the glass on his hand.
"Why were you calling me?"Lucas said "You could have ruined it you know".
"As long as you were not having sex then i was ruining nothing" .Jacob said
"Who knows ...."Lucas began to say but didn't know how to continue it
"What about mr Cornelius?"
"Not here yet". Jacob answered "But really Lucas,bumping into her again just to introduce yourself ".
"Shut up, like you know anything about love".Lucas said as he took the glass of wine from Jacob
"well i do, I've had about...."Jacob began to say but recalled that he had never really had a relationship
"Nothing to say?".Lucas asked as he laughed at Jacob "at least am trying to catch up with the woman of my dreams, while you've got nothing"
"yeah yeah".Jacob said as he looked at Lucas who seemed like he had lost his soul and kept it with Evelyn ,he just felt like smacking that smile off Lucas's face.
