Alen fell to the ground hard as Mike clinched his fist like he was asking for a fight.
"You want a fight? Fine" Alen muttered angrily and got up on his feet.
I could feel the glare and tension between the both of them and the only thing I could do was watch them.
This fight was getting serious and before these two could start throwing fists, Damain separated them just in time.
"What's wrong with you two? You can't start a fight now? At least act a little mature and save your energy on a real mission!" Damain says separating them
Alen took one death glare at Mike who was also throwing death glares back at him
"I'll let this one slide Mike, Next time, I wouldn't think twice about shooting that brains of yours" Alen growled
"I'll kill you before you even got the chance. Some kind of leader you are" Mike growled back and glared at me before pushing Damian aside and walking off angrily
Alen stayed quiet silently watching Mike walk off annoyed.
"The Four of you get back to work." He muttered coldly. Everyone separated while I followed Damain who I'm sure was frightened by the whole Chaos 3 minutes ago.
"You just have to give them some space" Damian sighed
We both trained together and to be honest, Damian wasn't as bad as I thought. He was skilled and pretty good with guns. We trained until it was 8;00. 2 hours training, 2 hours spent.
After we wore ourselves, Damain passed me a bottle of water.
"The boss wakes up around 8;30," He says
"So?" I wondered
"So you should go clean up and eat or something. Because when he's up, there are loads of things you are gonna get involved in, especially being his bodyguard." He advises
"Ah, thanks" I answered drinking the bottle of water.
"You know" Damian speaks
"You're the first girl I've seen with mad skills Lesley" He compliments with a smile.
"Thank you again, Damian. I should get going now" I adjusted my Uniform.
"Yeah, See you later" He murmured gloomily.
"3:00?" I muttered from behind
I could feel his facial expression change and so did mine.
"SURE!" He smirked
I left the Battlefield extremely exhausted and sweaty, I needed a shower real quick.
I walked inside the Crimson Clan territory and made my way to my room.
I instantly took off my uniform and entered the tub decorated with rose petals scattered on the ground and scented candles. For the first time, I felt calm and relaxed. But, of course, my peace of mind was disturbed by footsteps slowly approaching from behind me.
"Mother, I know you're there" I muttered staring like a non-soul at the white Silk walls
"How did you know it was me?" She questioned as I tenderly felt her cold hand touch my shoulder. I didn't expect it to be warm since she was Dead...
"Who else would come in unalarmed? Plus, not everyone can cross through walls to check up on her daughter" I muttered soullessly
"Yeah, and not everyone can talk to Ghosts" She adds
"That's because it wasn't your time to leave earth, but since you were beheaded, You couldn't get your body back... Mother..." I groaned
Mum stayed completely quiet for a while before forcefully speaking up after seeing the huge Scar on my back.
"You don't wanna talk about how you got this scar on your back?"
"I don't. but since you brought that up, I don't mind" I say in a cold tone.
"I know we didn't have a great relationship Child" She sits next to my tub
"But before I was taken away right in front of you, my only wish was to mend things up with you. God gave me the chance since I am not a Being anymore, but your guardian angel to be precise" She smiles warmly at me.
"I don't wanna keep on hating you for the things you've done back when you were alive" I sunk deeper into the tub slightly drowning myself, but now that my face had slabbed the surface of the deep texture of liquid, All the memories of the reason why I hated mum back then came flashing back.
The existence of my brother was where it all started...
Before my brother was born, I was the only daughter that never seemed to impress Mum or even make her proud, Except for my elder sister Cara. Cara was 15 back then and was pretty light on her feet, she was independent, Confident, Smart, and Intelligent, It was obvious she was already gonna overthrow dad's business into becoming the Crackle Queen 'Miss Cayote'. I, on the other hand, was quite the opposite, I've always seized my opportunity in overthrowing Dad's shady business and I despised weapons because I wasn't good at any and I've always feared that I might get shot or injured pretty badly. To put it in a much easier sentence, I was a scaredy cat. My parents always despised my weakness but Cara didn't if anything, She always tried her best to boost some self-confidence in me. She even become my role model, she was so inspiring, I couldn't get jealous of her personality.
"Just because you're young, It doesn't mean you aren't special Kiddo" She always says. I got to believe her words but deep down, I knew it was all a lie. Their neglection kept on going even after my younger brother 'Gabriel' was born. Dad's focus was just on Cara being the next leader of the Mafia crade while Mum on the other hand cared less about Gabriel and me, so I wasn't entirely lonely with Gabriel by my side.
But everything took a wrong turn the night before I turned 18. The Crackle clan territory was being attacked by the Crimsons. I remembered Cara taking Gabriel and me into hiding as she loads her gun.
"Cara please don't get hurt" I tried my best not to cry but seeing Cara's weak smile made me have a little hope that everything will be alright.
"I'll come back for you as soon as I can" her hands gazed softly on my cheeks as my left hand held Gabriel tightly.
Cara left right after leaving me with Gabriel.
Minutes and hours passed by and I kept hearing gunshots, the more the triggered sound echoed all over the mansion, the more scared I was. Gabriel was trying his best to also act brave and calm me down knowing how I get scared. After the noise cooled down, I waited for Cara to show up but no. She hadn't shown out. I got extremely worried and left the basement while Gabriel warned me to not go.
"Please, Emily! Cara said you should stay still!" Gabriel cried but I was too desperate to listen.
Without a second thought, I left our hiding spot in search for Cara and Mum. Only to realize that it was my biggest mistake.
