Neil's Birthday Party

Kissa's POV

I smiled when I heard it from Ivan. He's been courting me for months, but he never gets tired of Neil's attitude towards him.

And I know, he's incapable of hurting anyone, especially me.

And even Neil.

After I was eavesdropping, I went to my room to change clothes. Then, we started preparing for my son's party.

From preparing the things I need, to the preparation of the food, Ivan help me.

I was busy entertaining our guests, and saw Neil playing with his friends. Ivan is an enormous help because he keeps serving the guests with food.

He didn't need to do this, but he said he couldn't take to see me having a hard time serving foods to the guests.

I can see how a gentleman he is.

“Wow, you look like a real husband now, man!” I heard John tease him again.

Even his friends are shippers.

They want us to end up together, and I'm happy that if that happens, they will not be against us.

That they will not judge Ivan for loving someone who is divorced and a single Mom already.

“Maybe after this birthday celebration, we could expect a wedding ceremony?” Mica said, and they all laughed. But they all stopped and saluted when Nichol entered our backyard.

“You can stop that we're not on duty.” Nichol said to them.

I excuse myself to the parents of Neil's friend, as I welcome Nichol.

He's a good friend to our family. And he is Neil's Godfather.

“Hey, glad you made it.” I told him.

“Of course, he's like a son to me. Where's Neil?” He said while his eyes wandered around.

He was looking for Neil.

“Tito Nichol.” Neil ran to him.

He's close to Nichol because every time Nichol visits us, he would bring something for Neil.

“Wow, you are a big boy now.” Nichol said as he patted my son's hair.

“Is this for me?” Neil asked, referring to the gift Nichol's holding.

Nichol smiled and handed it to Neil.

“Of course, I will, I forget to bring you something, especially on your special day.” He said.

And my child can't hide his smile when he reaches for his gift.

“Thank you, Tito!” He even hug him.

Mc Ivan's POV

“Hey, they look like a happy family.” Maine said as our eyes averted to Kissa and Nichol.

I felt a pang in my chest. Neil treats him well, I thought he hates every man close to his Mom?

This child is being unfair.

“Do you think sir Nichol likes Kissa too?” John asked.

I glared at him.

“Yah! I was just asking! Don't glare at me!” John defensively said.

I just kicked his ass.

“It's impossible, sir Nichol is known for being a faithful husband. Imagine after the death of his wife he never got married again” Mica said.

Yeah, we all heard about that. There are a lot of pretty girls in the city, but we never heard anyone who got Sgt. Nichol's interest.

Maybe, he's also like me.

Faithful and handsome.

“Hey, you should stop! Sir might hear us.” I said, making them look at me with all their teasing faces.

“Woah! Look who's jealous!” John teased me again.

“Do you want to die?” I said, then kick his ass.

“Don't worry, man, my vote will always be for you.” He winks at me.

“You're disgusting.”

“And, it's obvious that Kissa likes you.” Mica cheered me up.

“You think so?” I asked her.

“Uy, he's being hopeful!” And here they go, teasing me again.

“Go get yourselves food, I won't serve you.” I said, then leave them.

“Yah! We're joking!” They shouted, but I didn't bother to listen.

The party was a bit exhausting, but seeing Kissa and Neil's smile, it makes my tiredness away.

It was already midnight when all the guests went home, and the 3 of us were left.

“Ivan, I sincerely appreciate your help.” Kissa told me after we cleaned everything.

I washed the dishes, so she didn't need to do it. I know she's more exhausted than I am.

The visitors are a lot, and it left so many trash and dirty dishes, that's why I can't let my girl do it alone.

See? I'm the greenest flag ever.

I'm a full package man.

“No problem.” I smiled at her.

“It's already midnight, you can sleep here tonight.” She offers.

“Really? It is okay—

“It's not okay with me” We both hooked our eyes to Neil.

Oh, well. There he is, I thought he's already asleep.

“Neil, it's already late and beside your Tito, Ivan helped us a lot today.” Kissa insisted.

“No, it's okay, Kissa. I can just grab a taxi, it's not that late.” I told Kissa.

I don't want them to argue as much as possible, especially if it's about me.

“No, Ivan, I insist—

“Okay, okay. But you will sleep in my room.” Neil said, then leave us.

We both chuckled after he left.

“He is so cute. He acts like a mature kid sometimes.” I said, smiling at her.

“You mean all the time.” She said shooking his head.

“But that's why I love him so much. I couldn't ask for more, He is more than enough for me.” She added with her beautiful smile again.

“Is that a no to me, then? Are you dumping me now?” I asked while chuckling.

“No, no, that's not what I mean.” She said while moving her hand.

“So it's a yes?” I said with a wide smile forming on my face.

She did smile too, but did not answer.

I look at her tempting lips.

Her heart-shape lips I've been wanting to kiss ever since we met, it seems like she got the softest lips ever

I've been dreaming to taste it, to feel it.

“Kissa, can I kiss you?” I asked her.

I can't just kiss her without asking for permission.

As much as possible, I want her to feel respected.

I wait for her answer, hoping for a positive response. I was just looking at her eyes, then down to her lips, then back to her eyes.

She didn't answer, but she held my neck and pulled me closer to her.

And before I know, our lips meet. And I tasted the sweetest lips ever.

And I'm certain, that after this night, I'm no longer a sad single policeman.

I got myself a girlfriend…

And a lovely son, Neil.
