My Paula (The End)

"Babe, why did you insist on making all the dishes yourself?" William complained, noticing the array of dishes he was sure his wife had made, except for the messy chocolate cake in the middle of the table. "Clara won't be happy seeing this later. She'll send Samuel to my office every day to lecture me about taking care of you."

"That won't happen, Will! Clara is busy with Baby Dave, she won't have time to worry about my life," Paula retorted, unaware that she had just caused a pang of sorrow in William's heart as he remembered the late Dave.

Samuel and Clara had named their baby boy after the kind-hearted man. William often felt inadequate compared to his friend; it made sense that Lea only wanted to be Dave's wife forever, even swearing never to remarry. She intended to focus solely on raising Vaughn and Michelle, Vaughn's baby sister, until they were grown.
