Informing Lady Xia of Fen Shuying's spirit

Lady Xia's body was still wracked with soreness despite spending most of the day recuperating.

She could hardly move, and it was almost nightfall when she heard two knocks on her door.

Despite the pain coursing through her body, she managed to drag herself to the door and open it.

A bitter smile formed on her lips when she saw her daughter and Wang Jian standing before her.

As the three of them stood in the chambers, the air was thick with tension.

Lady Xia tried her best to conceal the pain she was experiencing.

Fen Shuying, on the other hand, was beaming with joy as she proudly informed her mother that Wang Jian had helped her awaken her spirit.

Lady Xia forced a smile and looked at Wang Jian, who was smirking. "Thank you for your help," she said through gritted teeth.

Wang Jian took her hand and rubbed it lightly, sending chills down her spine. "It was my pleasure," he said with an evil grin.

Lady Xia quickly withdrew her hand and changed the subject.
