Chapter1

I waked up yawning loudly before sitting up " just feel Like sleeping more" I murmured rubbing my eyes carelessly, I can't cause I have class, " oh gosh!!! I screamed, looking at the clock at my bed side"jeez I jumped down from the bed, it was already 8:30 and I have a class by 9:00, I grabbed my toiletries and rush to the bathroom downstairs "Rebecca is that you"  i heard my mother called, "yes Ma" I answered before rushing inside the bathroom, bathing and dressing quickly,I rushed downstairs, mother was preparing breakfast in our little kitchen, yeah we were poor, we didn't have a big house or will I say a beautiful house but I never for once go hungry, I moved closed to her embracing and pecking her "mum am off " I said, rushing toward the door, "won't you have breakfast" before she could say or argue with me I was already out of the door, now looking at my wristwatch it was already 8: 51 "gosh, how could I have slept this long" I stood waiting for a commercial bus to take me to school, I was now feeling restless, I can't be late, this was my second year as a medical student so I can't  miss class or come anytime I like, there were no bus passingby I began to pace at my wristwatch now it was now 9:00 I felt like crying, oh God and I have an assignment to submit, maybe I should try trekking to school, who in her right mind would think such, my school wasn't close by, just then a car pulled up In front of me, the driver wind down the glass of his car "Do you mind me dropping you off" he asked, he was....I was lost of words cute no handsome but that wasn't what am going to think of now, Am not the kind of girl to fall or compliment a guy but........he was exceptional "Am waiting, he cut through my thought, I tried to ignore him I can't take a drive for someone I don't know, "no thanks" I reply, looking at my wristwatch again it was 9:30, "oh my word" I voiced out dragging my hands on my hair, am damn late, "so.....he asked waiting for my response,  why weren't there a cab or bus today and here was my only hope of going to school now and am refusing, I heaved a deep breath I hope he wasn't dangerous or....." OK I said entering the luxurious car that was now opened for me, I did the sign of the cross I didn't mind if he was looking at me or not "so...where am I dropping you off, I gave him the address of my school before praying silently I kept looking at my wristwatch watch I was damn late " Do you want me to drive faster" he ask with a grin on his face "yes please" I replied without knowing what I was asking for, he speed up the car and I thought I was going to collapse jeez the car was damn fast, he didn't ask me anymore question until he just pulled up on my school gate and bade me farewell, wow! I thought that he was one of a playboy  "thank you, I really appreciate"  "no problem" he said before driving off, when I enter the classroom the first lecture was already coming to an end "Rebecca why are you late" my friend Nancy asked with a curious face when I sat down next to her "Really I woke up late can't help it"  " you have to be careful, I heard that our biology don't tolerate late student"   "of course I would be Careful next time", I said and tried to fit in till the end of the lecture but.... I couldn't stop my mind from thinking about the mysterious guy who dropped me off without flirting like the other ones. 

On reaching home, I saw a lot of crowd around my house " not again "I muttered before running toward the scene, their was always one kind of trouble or the other, I wonder what today issue was, rushing to the scene " you guys!! have to pay up"that was Mr Boston of course he was referring to my father, what bill are we paying up again, I rushed to my mother who was now shedding tears now "MA what is it again" I asked pulling her in my arm "Oh Rebecca they always like to disgrace us Like this, she weep, your father has already explain to them that we would pay up later this week, but....." Mum is OK there no need to cry now" I said consoling her, I moved to where my father was standing "father! I called hugging him, " Rebecca you should go inside their is no need to worry" he said with a weary tone" father money for what" I asked "it just the light bill so no need to worry I will sort this out " Hey !! child tell your father to pay up, we can't have light because of him Mrs Boston chip in, oh God, how I hate this family I looked at my father, I know this was hurting him how can he be disgraced like this I rushed in moving up to my room, I can't let my family be disgraced like this, I went to my saving box, my last saving, I was saving up to go to medical school tour but for now using the money to save my family from this shame is more important now, I rushed down they were still shouting and arguing " Mr!! I called "yeah he yelled turning to know what why I was calling him " how much is the money"he told me, it took almost all of my saving to pay up, "now enough of this Insult and take all your crowd with you" I yelled angrily, he took the money now smiling "you're truly a good daughter" he said turning to walk off, "Mr! I called, he stop and turn to face me, a sensible man don't settle matter by yelling and shouting outside like a woman", I turned now referring to his wife now  "but inside his own home" I said, staring at him now with pure hatred, so your attitude here don't show you as a sensible man" he was now speechless, I turned moving inside with my family before Mrs Boston started shouting and yelling about how untrained I was to insult my elder "Rebecca father called me when we are already inside " you shouldn't have paid...." oh father I cut him off am so damn hungry to listen to you now " I said hugging him from behind, "I could see that" he was now smiling, even though I was not the son he prayed for but I stilled tried my best to uphold the responsibility of one and I know he loved me for that " Thanks he said "oh father I don't need it but food I pleaded now laughing, " of course that what you need"  everyone burst into laughter I have finally brought smile in their face today and I was very happy for it.
