Chapter 30: Midnight

When I reached out to cover her mouth, she grabbed my hand and faced me sideways.

"Brother, it's noisy outside, are they there?" She asked in a low voice.

I nodded. She leaned on me and glanced outside, then she suddenly retracted her gaze and looked at me weirdly.

"What's the matter?" I asked in a low voice.

She frowned, and when she got up, her lips hit something hard.

She got up in a panic and bumped her head on the top of the hole. The pain caused her tears to come down directly. I was afraid that she would cry and cover her mouth, and at the same time, I knew what was going on. I don’t know why it’s but when she woke up that I had a physical reaction.

She broke my hand and wiped her mouth vigorously.

This embarrassment is really unexpected.

She spit out a few mouthfuls, wiped away the tears, and said in disgust, "Why are you so bad? My mouth actually kissed yours."

I don't know how to explain it. I can only bite the bullet and say: "I didn't mean it, this is a natural reaction."

"Then why didn't you have it before." She wiped her mouth again: "You did it on purpose. I'm a girl, and I kissed you, ah ah ah... what shall I do in the future?"

I hissed and pointed outside.

She glared at me and turned her back.

At other times, I can explain it to her, but the situation doesn't allow it at all. After the aboriginal people got better, they all knelt down on the ground. It's like a religious ceremony.

After a while, they left something behind and left in line.

I used this method last night, but it didn't work. It's a bit strange to use this set tonight. Thinking about it, I can't help but come to realize.

The bodies of the two people were not recovered, nor were other survivors seen. It is estimated that these aborigines mistakenly thought they were the dead of the plane crash, and their souls appeared here. They prayed to their souls in their own way, and the food left behind was also used to worship them.

But I am not entirely sure, they are meant for this.

After a few quick turns of my mind, I knew I had to hurry up and figure it out.

I patted Zhang Yutong on the shoulder and said, "You stay in the cave, I will go down and take a look."

She grabbed my sleeve and said, "You are crazy, don't go. They must have left an ambush again."

"This time not necessarily, just don't go out."

I took her hand away, put the bow and quiver on my back, threw the spear out, and went down the tree. When I ran to the fire, what was left was a roasted animal thigh. It hurts me to salivate. It's a pity that it's not the time to feast, and hurried to catch up in the direction where they left.

From a distance, I saw a group of black shadows, lined up from the edge of the beach. It's less than six or seven hundred meters away from me. It's a good time to follow.

When I returned to the woods, I heard a sound from behind, and I saw Zhang Yutong coming down by himself and turning around by the fire.

After running back, she happily pointed to the animal's leg and said, "Brother Lu Fei, there is meat to eat. Did they leave?"

I said, "You go back to the cave, and I will follow them."

"You are not allowed to do this." She spread her hands and stopped in front of me: "Hurry up and get your axe. Let's cut some meat, and then I will go with you."

I couldn't help but stare at the animal's leg again. She doesn't care about that much. Take the axe from my waist and go straight up and chop. After cutting down two pieces, it was found that they were all red lean meat.

She took a piece and handed it to me and said, "Let's go, we're going to chase those guys while eating."

It is estimated that she will not be allowed to go, and she will not agree. I took a bite of the meat and asked her to act with me.

The meat is a bit stinky, like lamb, but it's still quite delicious.

"Brother Lu Fei, it's been half a month, and finally we have eaten the meat. When we come back, we will eat the rest." She seemed especially happy.

I took the spear in her hand and took her hand to quicken the pace. The aborigines are very fast, and if we don’t pay attention, we will lose track of them.

They have been walking along the coast, and after tracking for more than an hour, after about five kilometers, they entered the woods.

"Brother Lu Fei, I really want to eat a piece of it. It would be even better if it was just baked."

I looked back and she was still licking her fingers.

I asked differently: "I have finished eating a long time ago, did you just finish eating?"

She nodded: "Yeah, I can't bear to finish it all at once, I just sip it."

"I will give you food when I go back, but now they are in the woods, we must speed up." I reminded.

She nodded and stepped forward two steps to keep her shoulders with us.

When chasing to the place where the aborigines entered the mountain, it turned out that there was a river there, and geographically, it had already reached the mountain. Opposite is the elevated ground, with steep cliffs reaching tens of meters high. The river is only three to five meters wide, with beaches made of rocks on both sides, and the width is only one or two meters.

Several torches flickered in the depths of the river.

As I walked inside, Zhang Yutong said: "Brother Lu Fei, we are just following this time, don't we go directly to save the others?"

I nodded: "Sure, let's figure out where they live, know ourselves and the enemy, we won't end up in battle. If we attack the enemy directly like this, we will only suffer."

"Then I can rest assured." She stretched out her hand: "Hold me, I'm afraid I'll be separated from you."

The terrain of the river has been slowly too high, and the river beach is uneven and not easy to walk on.

Just over one kilometer, we walked ashore along a wide slope, and the river turned a sharp bend. When I walked to the high ground of the island, the torches turned into fires, and they continued to go to the other side of the island.

I took her to a sprint, and the sudden movement frightened us and squatted down.

In a bush, a black shadow stood up, but he was very short. After he ran out, I recognized that it might be a wild goat.

Before it ran tens of meters, it fell to the ground. I turned my head and looked, Zhang Yutong was holding a bow and arrow in his hand.

The brightness in the woods is very low, plus the size of the thing is not conspicuous, I asked in amazement: "Yutong, is your arrow so powerful?"

"Of course, I did it specially." She stood up: "Go, take it back and we will eat it for a few days."

"Don't think about eating meat. We will continue to follow and bring the wild goats back when we come back." I don't think she is worried about other people at all.

After a while, the torch became clear in our eyes again. When we were as tired as we were when we ran away last time, a piece of flat ground protruding on the high ground appeared abruptly in our sight, followed the high ground, and quickly disappeared.

The trees on the high ground are very luxuriant, so I don’t really know where it is.

I decided to go to the place where the torch disappeared. It should be the aboriginal camp in front of me. When I went there, it was still a cliff, but the ground was very flat, with no trees or weeds. They should have climbed up with ropes.

"Brother Lu Fei, we can't go up. Why don't we come back tomorrow?" Zhang Yutong suggested that.

I said, "When we come here during the day, aren't we just looking for death on our own? Or else, we should find a place to stay nearby, wait for dawn to check again, and then go back."

"That's okay. But you can't sleep anymore, you have to let me rest. If we both fall asleep, it will be miserable if there is an accident." she demanded.

I nodded and agreed. We walked forward along the edge of the high ground, and after ten minutes, we walked to the edge of the cliff with the river below. I don't know if it's the river we passed before.

I cut down a few small trees and built a resting place under the cliff. After staying in, she lay down and leaned on my lap.

After a while, she propped up her upper body and said, "I can't sleep like this. What if my mouth kisses you again?"

"Then how do you sleep?"

She scratched her head, thought for a moment, then sat down and leaned against one shoulder.

"That's fine." She yawned and there was no sound.

After she fell asleep, I was too sleepy and went to sleep in a daze. It didn't take long to wake up from freezing. I opened my eyes and saw that my clothes were a little wet. The sky has dimly lit up.
