Chapter 15 of chapter 3 I sense something
Lady Emily Pov...
I looked curiously at the big clock on the wall, Scott hadn't been back. Where the hell have him been... He always sneak out and comes back later! This is risky, I can't just keep it up with him. Let's us just go and live happily in somewhere else instead been in the prison mansion!
I stood up from the couch and stomped around the room worriedly. What if the Duke have gotten his hands on him? No... That's can never happen. I was so worried and full of thinking. I don't know where to go and look for him! He had to be careful since crazy things are going on in the mansion.
At that moment, I heard a knock on the door. Immediately, I swept out of my thought, he must be him!
I stomps to the door, getting ready to pour out my anger in him.
"What's keep you so..." The face I saw, makes me swallow back my words. I was frozen to the gloomily face glaring at me
Marcus!
It was Marcus not Scott!
What is he doing here? He had never come to meet me in my chamber before.. then, why is he here of all time!
My heart skipped, as the atmosphere of fear and anxiety cupped in me. What should I do? Marcus was here for all days! What if Scoff later comes in? Oh my gosh! I need to do something. With quick thought, I buried my fear and compose myself very well not for him to suspect a thing!
"Marcus?! You're here" I said with a grimly smile
"Aren't you going to welcome me in?" He furrow one's brow. "or are you expecting someone else?"
"No no no brother, just that I was surprised to see you here. Please come in"
I step aside from the door, and he walked in with both hands folded at his back.
"Hmm" he sighed, looking around, "your chamber look womanly" he compliment strangely, "of course, it have to be womanly, what else should it be if wasn't occupied by your lovely sister"
I tried to lit the awkward air out.
"Hmm, I seen. I was expecting to see something manly" he said, smile awkwardly at me. I could feel my heart throbbing, and cold sweat on her eyebrows, that smile of his was clearly full of meaning... I know Marcus very well, one of his gifted talent was dig out the secret of someone. He was good in read the thoughts of people. But today, he would be able to read mine. I can't allow that!
With a quick thought,
"What do you mean brother, that you don't trust me, your sister?" I strode to the other side of the room and sat down delicately on the white sofa.
"Well, I'd trust you when we're young but now you're a grown up woman, it would be hard but that didn't mean I don't trust you"
What the helmis him saying. He trust me and don't trust me? What does that phrase even means?
"Are you not going to ask me to seat down?"
Oh my gosh! I forgotten about that!
Anxiously "please seat down my noble brother, sorry I was cupped up with what bought you to meet me today?"
He sat down on one of the sofa facing directly at mine. His staring on me, makes me feel guilty, of his were full of suspicious which I was aware of...
"Brother, you haven't told me what bought you here? Is everything okay? Have lady Emily woke up?" I came up with all the necessary topics to lighten up the mood. His narrow gaze make the mood sour as it pierce through soul.
"Yes, all is fine. And lady Lily is awake" he said calmly but his eyes never shift from me..
"Oh lady Lily is awake!" I exclaimed falsely, what cares if she's awake or not. My brother never care about instead he shower his love to other women than his own sister! Despite the hatred for that woman and stupid black, that couldn't seat my heart to rest. I was troubled that Scott might walk in!
"Why are you pouting? Or is it worse for a brother to visit her baby sister again?"
" No! I am not pouting, I am happy you came to visit. It have been a while we seat and talk like brother and sister"
He smiled mysteriously. " Of course it have been a while. You know things have been going on the mansion. And I can see your chamber is not secured. Which will makes it easily for traitors to get you and I don't want that"
" Of course, I understand brother, strange things have been happening. And it still baffled me that lady Elsie would stood so slow to end the poor maid life" I said pitifully even when I wish for that black witch to died!
"Yeah, but she had a name Emily"
"Oh I forgotten can you please remind me?"
He chuckled and looked at me seriously, his eyes gloom between fire and ice. Just because of that black witch. In order not to make the situation more worse.. I said
"Oh, I'm sorry, it seen to offend you that I address your friend Isabella that way. My sincere apologies"
He sighed, adjusted himself well on the sofa.
"I'm here to make sure you are safe. I will order the men to stay at your door, and go everywhere with you. The mansion it's not safe anymore. We need to be careful since we don't know who the traitors are"
Men at my door entrance and follow me everywhere I go!? No! That's can't happen, what about Scott?
Hurriedly I said, " No brother, you don't have to do that!"
" Why?" He frowned.
" Well... I'm safe and sound, don't you see? I don't need men to guide my door. I'm perfectly fine and no one hands will be fall me" I response sincerely hoping he should drop that protection army.
"But that didn't guarantee you'll be safe? The traitors are out there, looking for a weakness to attacks. I don't want any idiots laid a finger on my darling sister!" He said harshly...
" I know you care about me, but we're not the target, it the Duke and his black maid!"
Grind me! I also let out the secret! With quick response, I continue. " This enemy are not after the people that lives in but after the Duke. You know that!" I breath in while he looks at me curiously.
"Marcus, what I am trying to say. I don't need any men to guide me, I am fine brother, trust me" I said and make a sympathy looks on my face...
He sighed, reclines his back on the couch well before saying. "You haven't tell me the reason I should leave unguided when I was trying to protect others, I can't protect my sister? "
" That not what I meant, I just want to be free. You have kept me hidden for too long Marcus. Please, I am safe and you don't have to worry yourself. Besides, lady Lily need you more than ever"
Please, this should seat on his head, I don't want men around me, it was distance Scott away from me!
My hands were sweating, hop he buy it and don't pressure me more.
He stared at me for sometime before breaking the slience.
"Okay, if you wish so"
Immediately, the feeling of relief falls in, thank God, he accepts..." But, that doesn't mean I would keep an eye on you, you're my sister Emily and if anything happens to you, I would be the same"
I felt guilty but I had to lie to save Scott. Marcus would never had to know about him, cause if he does, it would be trouble!
"I know brother and I love you" I smiled, seeing the hard look on his face had soften.
"I love you too"
He stood up and walked to me, cupped my cheeks and looked deep into my eyes. I tried to hold my guilt and frighten. He do not have to suspect a thing.
"Don't lie to me, and always tell me if you need anything. I will always be there for you" he smiled warmly and I did the same.
" I love you brother"
