Chapter 12 of chapter 10 Guilty in dark

In the dark cell she cuddle herself, wailing in the dark like a baby who lost her mother. The memories of the past hurt her like she felt guilty for what she had done.

She clearly remember the days well enough. The day her father chose Lady Mercy in front of her in the dining table. The day he proclaim he was going to marry her.

She saw the sadness in her mother eyes even though she never utter a word to him. She can read the pains drowning in her eyes as she sliently seated on the couch eating her food like nothing seen unexpected to her.

Lady Mercy face seem pale that day, like she had no choice over the discussion. But she resume she was fully aware of the situation and pretend to seen pity in the faces of others like she was forced by her father.

For that moment, her hatred and dislike for black people increase. She had started having doubt about them ever since the day she heard the news Matthew was her half brother...

But that day worst the hatred and increase the pains in her heart. She hates Matthew and his mother for taking everything from her and her mother. After what her mother had did for them, they stabbed them on the back in a wounded spot? That was crude . Her mother never deserve any of that treatment. 

Because of Lady Mercy and her son, people laughed at her and her mother. That her husband finally pick a slave over her. The news become the hottest in the town after her father get married to lady Mercy. The man didn't even consider how the rumors might ruined their life all he wants was to spend time with the dirty slave instead of her mother.

Her mates laughed at her in school, calling her names. Indeed Matthew stoods by her in school but she only pushed him away as she accused him of his mother acts. 

During to the bad treatment her father continue influence on her mother, lead to her dead. 

That day, she was back from school as always, hating the fact she had to share the same carriage with Matthew all the time. It's wasn't bad that he was in same class with her . She still have to see the ugly face all the time. Despite the fact she hates to see him. 

When she gets down, she quickly walks fast to avoid anything Matthew had to say to her. She doesn't want to hear any explanation he had. All she knows that both him and his mother planned all these.

"Elsie!" Matthew called as he gets down from the carriage but the girl didn't respond instead increase her walking speed. 

"Elsie, please wait. I have something to tell you. It's not what you think. My mother and I never wanted this!" He echoed, hopefully Elsie might heard him and stop walking but that didn't help. Instead, she continues like she never heard a single word that he said.

"I will never do anything to hurt you Elsie!" 

Elsie playeda deaf ears to him and walks down to the little crib behind the huge Mansion. After her father gets married to Lady Mercy. He shifts them out of the house into the little crib. That breaks the heart of Mrs Brett, after he gotten married to a maid wasn't enough pains, he pushed them out of the house.  

Then, her and her mother lived the opposite life of the rich. Her Father was really a heartless and wicked man. All her life with him, he had never show her love or any father affection to his daughter. The only thing he had show her was pains, brutality and wickedness.

The man was devil in form of human and she hated he and blame all these on Matthew and his mother. She knows her father was crude to her mother before but after the arrival of Lady Mercy in the house, his cruelest increase more on her mother and her. 

She snaps the door opened angrily, as she stromed in. She wished she can do something to helped her mother in this difficult situation but she can't. She's just little and have no power to stands out..

It a shame that the man who gave birth to you treated you like a trash! 

She drop her bag on the old couch in the living room of the crib. And head to the kitchen. When she saw there nothing prepared in the kitchen. 

She called out to her mother but there was no response from her. She called again and again still the same quietness. She went to her room seen she was sleeping on the old mattress. Things wasn't comfortable in the crib but them sure to manage. 

Elsie hates the poor life. She tap on her mother to wake her up but she didn't make a sign. She hit again and again, even shouted her name. Then, she decided to do what she had been taught in school on how to check on someone if they are not responding to your calling especially when they're asleep. She placed her head gently to her mother chest and noticed her heart wasn't beating.

Her eyes was close. She felt a scary shrivers on her body. Quickly she ran to the main mansion to call on her father help but the man was too busy fucking lady Mercy. 

The only person that get her attention was Matthew who informed the servant in the house. On getting to the crib again the servants confirmed that Mrs Brett had long died..

She couldn't believe it that she had lost her mother just like that in the cold hands if death. Then, Mr Mount arrived along side with lady Mercy. 

That moment was the painful moment of her life. She couldn't hold on to her tears as she wailing like a lost child in the street.

After the death of her mother,  Lady Mercy begged Mr Mount to let the girl lived inside mansion. But it took a deal to settle that agreement. 

That couldn't still stop the hatred she had for the woman for ruining their life and leading to her mother death. She would never forgiven lady Mercy for betraying her mother trust...

The hatred grows into a seed in her heart that makes her take the steps she shouldn't. 

She secretly burned the house, she could still remember the way they all scream in agony as she stood outside watching the whole mansion burned down. She didn't care if ther might be survivors or even about the life of Matthew. All she wants was revenge for her mother death. 

There she vow never in her life would she let a black man into her life. 

Now, she had regret that decision she made years ago. She was young then and the only thing that comes into her was revenge for her mother death.    

Still wailing in pains and regrets of the past,

"Lady Elsie"

She heard Lady Pearl voice and lit her head up but surprisedly to see her.
