Chapter 57

Kelly ends the call with a frown on her face. She doesn't understand why Jake is so focussed on Kelly leaving the room.

And why he has a problem with Ash.. its so annoying. She thinks to herself.

"So what did rich boy have to say?' Ashley asks making Kelly turn to look at her. Kelly laughs a little.

"What did you just call him?" Kelly asked with an amused face.

"Rich boy? Isn't that what he is.." Ashley asks with a shrug.

"Ash.." Kelly says. "So what's up with him?" Ashley asks.

"Well he's okay. He's just fine" Kelly says and there's a knock on the door.

"I'll get it" Kelly says. "Afternoon. Uhh.. I'm looking for Miss Edwards.." a young man wearing a read T shirt and a white face cap carrying a package

"Uhh.. that would be me.." Kelly says. "Okay. I'll need you to sign here" he says showing her the spot to sign on on the pad he's holding.

"Okay.." she says and signs and then he offers her the package. "Thank you.." she says and he gives a smile before turning around and leaving.

"Who's that?" Ashley asks. "Uhh.. I got a package" Kelly says.

"Oh is it from rich boy?" Ashley asks and it clicks. "Oh.. it's from Jake" she says as she unwraps the gift and it's a jewelry box.

She opens it and sees a diamond studded necklace.

"Nice" Ashley says when she sees the necklace and Kelly smiles she immediately grabs her phone and dials Jake's number it rings but he doesn't pick up.

So she decides to leave a text for him.

"Hi Jake.. I got your gift and it's really beautiful. Thanks Jake" she writes and sends the text.

"It's beautiful" Kim says to Kelly. "Thank you" Kelly beams.

"What's he trying to apologise for?" Ashley asks and Kelly looks at her.

"Huh?" Kelly says. " When men buy their women expensive gifts it's usually when they've fucked up and they want to apologise" Ashley says brashly. Kim nudges her.

"What?" She asks Kim and Kim shakes her head at her.

"Well.. at least he's sorry and I forgive him" Kelly says. Ashley just nods silently.

"Don't mind Ash. Your gift is beautiful" Kimberly says to Kelly and she smiles.

"So.. how was class?" Ashley says changing the subject and turning her attention to Kelly since her movie is finished.

"Class was... Okay I guess" Kelly says remembering she has been paired with Adrian on a project.

"Oh.. did you have another fight with Fernandez?" Ashley asks as she folds her legs on her bed and Kimberly scoots closer to her leaning her head on Ashley's shoulder.

"Not really.." Kelly says. "Okay" Ashley says "But.." Kelly says. "You had a little quarrel with Adrian" Ashley says face palming herself.

"No.. we were paired for a project" Kelly says and Ashley spits out the soda she's sipping on the other way so that she doesn't spit on Kimberly's face

Ashley has an amused face when she looks at Kelly and Kelly rolls her eyes at Ashley.

"It seems like you can't get rid of Fernandez or he can't get rid of you either way you both can't get rid of each other" Ashley says in an amused voice.

"It sucks.. I don't know how we'll be able to work through this project without tearing each other's heads off" Kelly says as she takes a slice of pizza
