Chapter 74

Kelly's Pov

People can be very surprising. I never knew Adrian could cook. He looks so confident as he seasons the sauce for the pasta.

I wonder how he knew how to cook. "Adrian.. how did you learn how to cook?" I ask and he looks at me and thinks. "Well.. I took interest in cooking and so I started learning how to cook from Big Sam" he says and I look at him with a confused face

"Who's Big Sam?" I ask him and he stops stirring the sauce. "Big Sam is the head chef in my uncle's house" he says "Oh" I say as I realize that he grew up with his Uncle.

"You grew up with your Uncle?" I say to him "Yeah I did" he says and goes back to stirring the sauce.

"You never told me how you grew up after your Father's death" I say "Yeah.." he says as he tastes the sauce and he nods his head approvingly while the pasta is cooking on the other burner of the gas cooker.

"So what was it like growing up with your Uncle?" I ask him he turns off the burner under the sauce and faces me fully.

"It was good.. my Uncle is a cool guy. He brought me to come live with him after my Father's death. He never mistreated me and he provided me with everything I ever wanted in life" he says.

"Your Uncle must be a good man" I say to him "Yeah he is.. and I'm the hot headed son" he says "Son?" I ask in confusion. "Yeah son.. my Uncle adopted me as his son even though I'm his nephew. He told me to call him Dad" he says

"Awwnnn that's so cute" I say to him and he shrugs. "At first I refused to call him Dad because I couldn't just forget about my Dad. I thought that he was trying to take my Dad's place" he says "Why did you think that?" I asked as he puts some chicken wings into microwave and sets the timer.

"He took over my Dad's company and strived to bring back my Dad's company to it's former glory which he succeeded in doing" he says facing me again.

"So isn't that a good thing?" I ask him. "It is.. but, I was really hurt by my Dad's death. Seeing my Uncle taking over my Dad's company made me feel sad and I just saw my pain and sadness. I thought my Uncle was trying to replace my Dad that's why I refused to call him Dad and I was rebellious too" he says and I shake my head at him typical Adrian.

"My uncle was really patient with me.. no matter what I did he never mistreated me. Other people called me the stubborn son and my cousin was the good son" he says with a scowl.

"Your cousin?.. who is he and where is he?" I ask he stays silent and his countenance changes like he's angry.
