Chapter 163

"After school that day he walked up to me and gave me a piece of paper and told me to call him if ever needed help" Ashley says "Adrian must be psychic or something cause I didn't know how he knew I needed help. I took the piece of paper and hurried home. When I got back my Dad wasn't around like usual so I stayed home until it was 10:00pm and my Dad came home drunk like he does everyday. I had already saved Adrian's number on an old phone in the house. It actually used to be my mom's phone but I took it and started using it so I saved his number there and I was contemplating calling him because he's the first person to ever speak to me in school. I was torn and finally decided to dial his number but then my dad yelled my name and out of fear I dropped the phone because I was scared. I decided to stay in my room because I didn't want him to hit me again but he came up to my room and opened my door. I was really scared and he walked up to me or rather staggered towards me and I was prettified. My Dad reached for me and grabbed me by the neck and was trying to strangle me and snuff life out of me. I was squirming and trying to get out of his grip but he held tighter to my neck and I knew that if I didn't do something and try to break free from his hold he'll kill me there and then. So I don't know if it was my will to live or the fear of death I was able to dig my nails deep into his eyes making him scream in pain taking that opportunity I took my phone and dashed out of the house I didn't know where I was running but I kept running and I swore to myself that I'll never go back to that house again. My phone rang and I picked the call to find out it was Adrian and with the tone of my voice he knew I wasn't alright and then he asked for me to tell him where I was..I looked around and I described to him where I was. He came and took me home and after that day I never went back to my father. My father is locked up in a mental asylum here in California" Ashley says and Kelly smiles at Ashley

"Adrian is a good person and his father was very accommodating to me. He was the one that my Dad was put in a mental asylum after he was diagnosed with depression and mental imbalance and he harboured me in his house.. I and Adrian stayed together under one roof" Ashley says and Kelly looks surprised

"Wow.. I had no idea" Kelly says amazed "yeah.. and then we three came to the same college. I and Adrian Raymond was already attending college so we joined him and Adrian's father is the one sponsoring my education" Ashley says and Kelly is surprised again

"You and Adrian are very very close. Adrian is just like your own brother. I never knew how close you two were till now. Your closeness runs deeper than I thought" Kelly says

"Yeah it does. I see Adrian as my savior who saved me from my deranged father" Ashley says

"Adrian has a big heart Kelly. He's a very good person" Ashley says and Kelly nods and smiles. She never thought Adrian was such a good person and he didn't brag about how far he went to help Ashley. He had told her a little about his relationship with Ashley but she didn't know it was this deep.

She has more respect for Adrian and his family they're good people.
