Chapter 118 Girlfriend

Nora's point of view......

     I was lost talking to Gina that I totally forgot about making breakfast for Ben and I. 

   I walked to the living room to see Ben fast asleep on the couch. I smiled at his carefree attitude.Who goes about falling asleep in his girlfriend's house on early Thursday morning?. it's only one person in the world and that person is Ben.

     Girlfriend?I liked the sound of that. May this new found joy of mine last.

     I happily skipped to the kitchen to make breakfast for us finally.

     I thought of preparing spaghetti and white sauce. I brought out the spaghetti and a bowl and began to cut the spaghetti into pieces.

    I got done with piecing the spagh and got a pot,pour water into it and put it on the electric stove. While waiting for the water to heat a little,I start to prepare my veggies. If possible I want to finish cooking as soon as possible. 

     I can't remember the last thing I cooked here and Ben is making me to cook,I have not started the journey and I have began to behave like a good girlfriend.

     Sometimes we do things out of impulse,we are not asked to do it but we found ourselves doing it. What stop me from preparing a simple breakfast but no,I chose to cook for Ben.

     The water heated a little and I pour the spaghetti inside and cover the pot. I was through washing the veggies,I brought down my chopped pan and start to cut the veggies one after the other while humming my favorite song,let me love you by Justin Bieber.

    When I was done cutting the veggies, I picked some beef out of the refrigerator and washed them into a pot, Spiced them and place the pot on the second burner.

      I added little salt to my spagh and cover it,it's almost done. I like my spagh and rice with a taste of salt in them,salt gives it a sweet-salt like taste and I so much love it.

     I had to roam around in the kitchen waiting for all the pots in the burner to give finishing touch to what's in them but then,I decided to go check on Ben.

     I strolled out of the kitchen,when I got to the living room my pest was still sleeping like the king his is with no care in the world. I chuckled and shook my head. This guy is really funny and a big baby too.

    Since he is still sleeping,I decided to go back to my cooking.

     I got to the kitchen and check the spagh and it was soft enough,I pulled out a Sieve.I took a bowl together with the sieve to the sink and I came back for the pot of spagh,I emptied it inside the sieve and left it to drain.

     I check the beef and it was soft so I had to bring it down. I got a frying pan and put it on the burner and pour little vegetable oil and allow it to heat a little,while on it I slice an onion and pour it when the oil heated and pour all my veggies inside as well and began to stir. I added spices to the veggies and continued to stir,I check for taste and it taste so good

     I stirred for some times and styop to check if it has softened and sure enough it has so I had to lower the heat of the burner. I brought out some corn starch that will be enough,put it in a stainless soup plate and pour cold water on it.

     I poured the mixed corn starch inside the veggies and stirred it too then pour the beef together with it's water inside and began to stir again. The pan was too small for the content so I had to transfer it to the pot I used to prepare the beef.

      Every thing was on it right place and my white sauce was ready,I just had to leave it to steam for few minutes.

     I dished out spagh for Ben and I on a separate plate and placed it on a tray.When the sauce was done,I switched off the stove and scooped enough sauce into two different deep plates and place it on the tray too.

     The last person I cooked for was Gina and now I had to cook for Ben,well it's a good thing I am doing something aside looking out for Gina. Not that I am complaining but a time will come when Gina will not be there for me to look after,so it's best I learn to look outside the circle.
