Chapter 183 Better Days

I came out from the bathroom to see Sharon sitting on my bed looking all freshed up and with a change of cloth. When I said she went home,I was right. She smiled when she saw me and I smiled too.

   "You went home?"

I asked, wiping my face dried with my face towel.

"Yes,I went home to hubby and son. Well I have to tell them about you and my plans to travel with you to make peace and they both agreed."

She responded and I shrugged my shoulders. Her son and husband must be so understanding, lucky her.

"Well I thought maybe you have gone home with no intentions of returning"

I said and walked over to my bed to sit and she stared at me like I have grown horns.

"What, why are you staring at me like that?"

I further asked.

"Why would I do that without letting you know"

She replied. It's no big deal,no hard feeling though.

"I don't know, people change and you don't expect me to still see you as the Sharon you were before"

I said and moved over to the table to get out breakfast tray. Her stares followed my every moves. She sighed sadly and I knew my words affected her.

   "Nora, be nice"

I said to myself. Being an asshole right now will do me no good,we all make mistakes.

"I know things will not be like it used to be between us but please be a little nicer,I beg you"

She said with a sad look.

"Alright,I am sorry about my attitude. Can we eat now because we have got a long day"

I said and gave her a smile and she sighed with relief.

I dropped the tray in between us and uncovered them one after the other while Sharon poured yoghurt into the glass cups. She picked her fork afterwards and I picked mine. She picked a chip inside her mouth and mulched on it.

  "Hmmm,it so crispy."

She said with a happy smile on her face. Sharon will always be Sharon. I missed old time with her though. We were best of sisters yet Tom and Jerry. There was no Sharon without Nora and there was no Nora without Sharon.

When she left,I shut the world out of my life. The only thing that sustained me was the hope that Kurin will wake up one day.

"I am glad you like it. This is more like old time when Mom used to serve us our meals on the same plate. She always say there is love in sharing and that saying of hers made us to share everything we had with each other. You know people always think that we were born on the same day.

I said and she smiled. We had happy childhood together.

"Yes Nora, you were the best sis I have ever had. Infact I had the best family ever,I always wished that Mom and Dad did not transform, things might have been different."

She smiled sadly. In as much as I want to believe what she said,I can't agree with her because I believe what happened was for a reason and that reason is why we the Southerners are free and happy today. I would say Sharon played a huge role in all of these.

"I don't think so, Sharon. Whether Mom and Dad were here with us from time, things would have still go the way they went, destiny was in full course and for all that happened to happen, you had to play that role. I can't even blame you. Who knows things might not have ended well hundred years back"

It's time we see things the way that are other than wishing for what might not have happened. Sometimes it's good to look at the brighter side of every situation.

I picked a chip and dip it into the ketchup and mulched on it. It's so crispy, more of the way I like it. I picked another one and another one and continued like that,Sharon was not left out too. Before one could say what time is it,the chips were all eaten by us and I began to wonder when and how the chips finished without us knowing rather without me knowing because there was a look of amusement on her face.

"Nora you will never ceased to amaze me, it is still the old you."

She said laughing and I mopped at her.

Well the good thing is she is laughing and I am glad she is. Better days with her are yet to come.
