Chapter 235 The Legendary Beast

Nora's point of view......

   I was marvelled at the sight of the mansion. The walls were painted pure white and the glass windows were tinted, by the left side of the entrance stood a golden statue of the legendary beast, Effrous and on the right side,  stood Effrous's mate, Emery. It's kind of an open mansion,no gate or fence. I wondered why it's like that. For this beast to be here, then there is more to Sharon's family that  is unknown. 

     If you know the the history of the witches's race,you will understand that any one who has the statue of Effrous belongs to the first generational witches of the highest order. These witches were known to be pompous and wealthy because the legendary Effrous is known to be the god of wealth and was sometimes worshipped. As century begot another century,it's became a myth with it's statue staying behind to remind those who existed that it was never a myth.

    Mom had once told me the story of the legendary Effrous,it was on one hot afternoon and I was so bored with Sharon out. I was done learning photography for the day. I needed something to take my mind of the stress of the day, it was a day to full moon and everyone was preparing for the blue moon anyway.

  She had begun by telling me who Effrous is and why he became a myth. She said that Effrous was child whose birth was foretold long before he was born. He was meant to bring riches to his parents and the witches around. The people has anticipated his birth but it  never happened as it was foretold,he was born a beast. 

   The day he was born left the witches speechless,they saw what they never expected and it was not heard in the history that a Witch begot what does not resemble the mother. They did not know what to do to him and because a beast can't live among the witches,the only option was to kill him but a message came that he will be turned to  normal being when he turns twenty, when he might have mated with his mate. They can't afford to lose him or else the witches clans will remain poor and live in wretchedness for the rest of their lives.

    If leaving him alive will be for their own good, the people were more than ready to do that. He was guarded with love and care but taking care of a beast was not a job any one will gladly do but the people will not lose their only chance of being wealthy. What could this be called?.

    Who to be his mate was not told too,so as he grew, maidens were arranged to be selected when the time comes but who will be the chosen one. Being the chosen one was a privilege maidens were ready to have but will that come easy?.

    In every story,there is always a villain and the villain in Effrous time was a white witch named Lady D, Lady D was not happy that Effrous was born because she wanted the people to be poor, she claimed it makes her happy to see people beg but who in their right senses will wish another person evil,no one expect he who is an enemy to people's progress.

   While everyone was training their girl child to be able to be Effrous mate,she went on journey of finding the mate herself and she succeeded. She found the mate and the girl happened to be a girl she picked up and nurtured. She could not believe that the girl will be the key to the people's success. For it was said that as long as Effrous remains a beast,that the condition of the people will be as it is until he meet his mate. And there is only one way to stop Effrous from meeting his mate, which is to kill Emery, the chosen one.

   Without wasting her time because she believes delay is dangerous. She killed the one person who could have brought her fortune forever making Effrous to be beast forever. She indeed stop the people's progress but that was for not long. Nature had another plan for the people since Effrous could not become human again,he died from broken bond and the promised prosperity came to pass. The only thing left of him was a statue which was made few years later to remember him and his supposed mate was not left out.

   Effrous's parents birthed a son years later and the people believed that Effrous came back to life which was proven true.

   Lady D was banned never to be seen again,some believe she transformed while others believes she is on exile but it's been too long so there is no way she will still be in the planet wondering.

  Effrous's reincarnate lived and became the first wizard of order and his generation after generation remained the first order of witches,it was a merit bestowed on upon them by nature.
