Chapter 329 A Surprise

Nora's point of view.....

   I appeared in the middle of my room and flapped myself on the bed. I would not say I was tired because I am not. I was relieved after all, our mission in the South was successful, at least Jade is safe.

   My thoughts raced back to what Gina said about Jeff and I thought for a while. Jeff is not a human, it still baffles me but nothing should be surprising to me anymore because I know that in the world of magic, anything is possible.

    In that case I need to see how far Ben has gone, if he is still looking for Jeff's parents and there will have to be a stop because it's of no use.

   My time says mid day so we were gone for about three hours. I sighed.

   "It's not easy at all"

I muttered and walked out of my room. I was blindly walking with my focus on my phone when I bumped into someone. I was momentarily lost, this is my apartment. When did I start Sharing my apartment with someone?.

  I looked away from the phone to check the person I bumped, lo and behold, it was Jeff. He was rubbing his forehead and looking up at me with a pity look on his face. The same look he had yesterday I met him.

   What is he doing ? Does it mean Ben is here too but how did they gain entrance because I locked the door from inside before living with Govey.

  "Jeff, what are you doing here?"

I asked and squatted before him. I removed his hand from his forehead to see if he was injured. I forgot all about him not being a human, I was just concerned about the little boy in front of me.

    "Do you always press your phone while you walk?, you can endanger yourself in the process."

He said and stood up from the floor with a cheeky smile.

   "So how was the journey and the witch princess?"

He asked and started walking away. 

   "Jeff, how did you get here and where is your uncle?"

   He ignored me and continued walking towards the living room.

     "Jeff!"

I yelled and he stopped.

   "Stop screaming, you will bring down the house with your scream?"

He said and wrinkled his hands up in the air.

   "Tsk tsk tsk, Jeff don't get on my nerves and answer the question, where is uncle Ben?"

I said all of that with no emotions.

  "Alright, you don't have to be like that. You have got a temper you know. He is probably at his father's mansion. Don't act surprised because you know me already. I thought of coming to say goodbye before but my dear Nora could press phone and walk at the same hereby bumping unto me"

   He said frowning and I chuckled softly. Did he say goodbye, so he is finally going to heaven knows where. This little boy or big guy whatever he is, he is a cute guy/boy.

    "Jeff, were you here for me?"

I asked him, smiling and he gave me a smile too, his smile warmed my heart. I knew I was going to miss him.

   "I was, thanks for the experience. I have always been with Ben but I felt I should come play with you guys a little, It was fun. I will always watch you both from up here"

It was an emotional moment for both of us. I have come to be comfortable around Jeff that I had wished in my heart that we would not find his parents without knowing he does not have any. How silly it was for me to think that way. Funny how we wish for things we already have.

   "Jeff thanks so much for everything, like I said before, if you want to get away from whatever, just come and disturb Ben and I."

I told him and he smiled, before my very eyes he withered away. I kept staring at the place I last saw him.

   The ringing of my phone brought me back to reality, I checked and it was Ben calling.

    "Sweetness!"

He called out to me.

  "Yes baby love"

I replied cheeky

     "I thought of checking on you and boom, it went through. Glad you are back. I am coming over immediately so prepare. I have a surprise for you?"

He said. I was wondering what the surprise is all about so I did not get to respond.

    "Did you hear what I just told you honey?"

He asked and I was forced to answer.

"Yes but can you give me a hint of what the surprise is, please"

I pleaded, hoping he would hereby reduce my suspense.

   "If I tell you what it is all about, it's no longer going to be a surprise so just wait for it, I will show you don't worry I promise."

   I had no option but to agree to what he said, he was right though. If he should tell me it won't be a surprise anymore.

   "Alright looking forward to that"

I replied more like I said that to myself.
