Chapter 311 A Mother To All
Xylie's point of view….
I was lying in my room so stressed out. It's been an hour since Rory and I returned to Beverly. Mom was so eager to know more about her and I bet that's what she is doing at the moment. She had asked Rory to stay with her as she prepared breakfast and Rory had gladly accepted. Before she left, she whispered that she loves my mom already and I had to smile.
Mrs Smith is a nice woman, she is a mother to all.
I did not fail to let Nora know I was back from The south.
My door opened and Rory came in, she jumped on the bed and laid her head on my chest.
"This feels so unreal, I still don't believe I am in Beverly, civilization at its peak. The South needs a lot of work to be able to meet the level of civilization in Beverly."
She said and giggled, I found my hand on her hair as I caressed it.
"I know right, that's why I can never live in The South"
"And do you know the beautiful part of this, is that your mom is so nice. You can't believe that she had told me that by the end of the day, she will prepare a room for me"
She said with excitement evident in her voice.
I was not expecting less from Mom, this is who she is.
"I am glad you feel out home, don't worry, I will take you to tour round the city"
I said and she gasped and raised her head to look at me.
"Is that a date?"
She asked with her eyes almost popping out of their sockets. What the heck? I said a tour and she is asking me if it's a date. I can't even understand how her brain works sometimes.
"Rory, I said a tour, not a date. Do you know the difference between the two at all?"
"Yeah, yeah, I just thought maybe we can do two in one. You know killing two birds with one stone"
She said looking so miserable. I was not supposed to laugh but I laughed anyway. Her miserable face was so funny that I could not stop myself from laughing.
"What's so funny Xylie, I only said the obvious and you had the guts to laugh at me. I could kick your ass if care is not taken"
She said and I stopped laughing.
Okay you want tour and a date but how will we do it? You will go touring with your dinner gown or what?"
I asked and she gaspard again.
"I don't even have what to wear, can you take me out for shopping?. I want to look classy and elegant."
She asked with her two hands together in a praying motion.
I sighed, I wanted to host Nora and Ben. I don't even know how I am going to do all these in a day.
"Rory alright, I bet we would do both at the same time, the tour and the shopping then after that we would go on a date. How about that?"
"Nice suggestion, it's cool. Can't wait to tour the city round"
She said happily. Her happiness was radiating all over her face. It takes a little thing to bring joy to her face. She lay back and put her head on my head.
"I thought you and mom were preparing breakfast?"
When she came in, I thought she came to call me for breakfast.
"Yeah, it's almost done. I just came to keep you company. I miss you, you know"
I had to raise my brows.
"You missed me but I was just here, I did not go out?"
"I know but my heart can't stop racing, so do you think I am falling for you, Xylie?"
She asked and I stilled. Rory is falling for me?.
"Rory you have limited time to stay here, do you think falling in love is the right thing"
I needed to remind her of that.
"Well I can decide to stay if I want to and yes falling in love is the right thing. I want my heart to beat every seconds for the one I love"
She said with so much passion in her voice. I don't know if this is one of her childish talks but it looks like she meant what she said. But I am not in a hurry to fall in love with her. My arm is to make her stay worthwhile. I still want to know why she transformed the first time.
"Rory slow down, don't be too rushy. The heart is so delicate that it has to be handled with care."
I said trying to slow her down
"I know right but I can't help it. My heart beats for you and for you only"
What baffles me is the boldness. She can't be too sure.
