Chapter 334 What Changed?

 Xylie's point of view....

 Mom stood up clutching her purse and her car keys while I took Rory by her hands and all of us walked out of the house looking forward to when we returned. We don't know when but we will definitely return.

    Rory has long forgotten she was unhappy with me because the next thing she did was to poke my nose with her index finger. I glared at her and she pulled her finger away.

   Mom was not aware of what was going on between us, her attention was ahead, I bet the only thing on her mind was how to get to her friend's place as soon as possible. 

   Rory and I waited for her to drive away before continuing our journey. We will be taking a cab, it will be the best for the tour.

   She waved her hands at us after she had settled in her car and we both smiled at her.

  "Take care, you both and don't forget to look out for each other, see you soon."

I gave her thumbs up and Rory did the same thing and she drove off.

  "So Xylie, how do we go about this? Let's stroll, I want to enjoy the beautiful sight of this place."

   She begged softly. Her suggestions were good but I really don't know much about Beverly, I am as new as she is.

   "Rory I would still think we should hire a cab and let the driver be our tour guide. I don't know much about Beverly. We might get lost if I become our tour guide."

  I replied. 

    "Okay then, it's fine, let's hire a cab like you said. It might be another experience."

  She said and sighed.

I looked at her and I realized that our outfits were not good for sightseeing. What was I thinking? I am such a novice.

"Rory, I think we are overdressed for this sightseeing of a stuff. We need to go back and change.

   We could go shopping with the way we are dressed but we can't go sightseeing and since we will tour before sightseeing, it's best we dress to fit and I think I have a little knowledge on it."

   I did have to wait for her to react and I dragged her back into the building.

   I sighted Rosie over at her veranda and she waved at us. Rory waved back but I did not, I was surprised that her mood was not like it was about an hour ago.

   Rory nulged me to wave back. I grinned and started pulling her in when I saw Rosie moving towards me.

  "Let's wait and see why she is coming over to us."

Rory insisted and I stopped pulling her.

   Rosie got to us and extended her hands towards Rory who took the stretched hands of Rosie.

  "I am so sorry about earlier, I was not in a very good mood. We could still make up for this morning?"

  She asked, maintaining the smile on her face. For me, there was a need to x-ray her. She acts too weird for my liking. Who knows what is her arm behind this sudden offer of friendship to Rory.

  "It's cool if it's cool with Xylie"

Rory responded and pulled her hands from Rosie who in turn looked at me to see if it was cool with me. I was not really cool with her becoming friends with Rory. Rosie is cunning and I know this. Saying yes to this will be a problem not now but later. But Rory is a witch, I trust her to take care of herself even if I am not there.

  "Okay, it's fine. If she is cool I am cool then"

I said and grinned, she was not surprised that I said yes. It looks like she was expecting it and she thinks she could predict me.

  "I see you both are going out, can I tag along?"

She saaked and Rory leaped towards me.

  "Xylie, won't it be nice. She could be our tour guide. Say Yes."

   It was a good idea but the help coming from Rosie, no way. Rory was trying to make me say yes and I tried giving her a sign that it was a bad idea but she would not understand my signs, rather she was making a puppy face at me.

     "Come on Xylie, I am not a bad person and you know this. We used to be friends, what changed?"

  Her voice was low as she said that, I did not want to believe that she would want to be my friend without seeking above friendship, Rosie I know will not do that 

Rosie was right on that ground but sometimes, people's feelings towards another change and they move on. I have never seen someone who moved in the circle of a particular friendship forever.

   "Xylie, don't be like this now?"

Rory whined with displeasure written on her face.

 "Fine, we will just go change and come back"

   I said and dragged Rory with me leaving Rosie to find her way back to her apartment.

   The main door is automatic but mom prefers to use keys sometimes not sometimes everytime but since she is not here and I have got no key with me, I had to use my blood.
