Gina's point of view……
Mom and Lily were with me preparing Theophilus's new chamber. I should have asked the maids to do it but I want to do it myself. I think after today we won't be here for him like always.
"Finally, our reign is coming to an end.
"Sister, what happens when you don't want to marry your mate. Maybe you are in love with someone else but a mate has been chosen for you?"
Lily suddenly asked, Mom and I exchanged glances then stared at her. I wondered what would make her ask such a question.
"I don't know why you asked, to answer your question. Witches like to marry themselves over and over again, that's why when they reincarnated, they would want to marry their mates from their former lives. Your mate was once your mate so if you reject each other in your new life, the bond you once shared will keep drawing you both like magnet and eventually you will end together but in case where you lost interest, the other will die"
I gave her my best honest answer, I hope in future she would not try running away from marrying the man destined for her. Beverly is not like the South, you being born at Beverly as witch you will have a different mentality from those who were born here.
She shrugged her shoulders and smiled at me then mom.
"I don't know but I can't imagine myself being married to someone all in the name of being mated together. Thank Heavens I am a hundred percent witch, hundred human so I can choose my destiny myself."
I was speechless, I couldn't even tell her anything and Mom was not saying anything.
"Gina, I could agree with her on that. You are a pure witch but Lily is not. I am a human also a witch and her dad is half-breed but you know your dad is not a Human at all and then this is Lily's first time of coming to life. So if eventually she marries someone who is a witch then she will be forced to reincarnate but if she marries a human, the case is different so her Choice of man lies now, it's her choice to make not anyone but will be later in her next life if she marries a witch."
Okay, that was something I was not aware of.
"Alright Mom, I was afraid for her life. I thought this mate thing is applicable to all witches both pure blooded and half-breed."
Mom smiled,
"Nothing at all my dear"
"I think we are done here"
I said after I had put the portrait of Theophilus and Abigail made by Nora. She made similar portrait of Chris and I. I looked at everything we had done and it looked perfect.
"Have you ever thought if Theophilus was okay with marrying Abigail. I mean, do you ever think that's what he wants?"
Lily asked again and I must say the question got me. I had never thought such, according to what mom said, witches who have been alive before and married themselves, will always marry themselves after reincarnation.
"Lily, Abigail is the prince's choice. They have always been mate so I don't think he will have any objections to that"
I replied but she did not seem satisfied with my answer because it was obvious.
I suddenly became worried, what if Theophilus does not want to be mated with Abigail again? I don't see how that will be possible.
"Lily, do you know something? Did Theophilus mention anything to you?"
"No sis, he never did. I am just asking. My curiosity though"
The thing is, I can't access her mind or that of Theophilus if not I could have just tried to see what they were thinking. Blood limits my ability to read their minds. I could read Nora's own because we are far related but Lily and Theophilus are my direct relations, one is my son, the other is my sister.
"Gina, have the ring be handed over to my grandson yet"
"Yes Mom, Tiana did earlier before and I am sure by now, she is done with the ritual."
Mom smiled and left, indicating she wants to step out for a little while.
Lily left as well leaving only me and my thoughts. I gently sat on the couple's bed and wondered why Lily would think Theophilus doesn't want to marry Abigail. If ever it's true, there is a huge problem. The only option is to and go ask him and find what he thinks of this whole marriage thing. I have been so busy to even ask him what his take is.
I stood up and went in search of him.
