Chapter 449 Fate Calling

Theophilus's point of view…

   Gracie, Nora's daughter which means she is Abigail. I did not stay back to hear the full story because I had to run after Gracie. So I was after the right person all along. I could not imagine what would have happened if I had eventually married Abigail.

   I came to halt at the back door leading outside the mansion. I was Just right beside her and when I looked again I could not find her. 

   She could have gone so far. I stepped out in the open but I did not see her. I continued walking.

  "Gracie"

I called out, still walking. She did not respond. I refused to believe she might have run so far within a short space of time.

   The mansion is surrounded by trees and for her to be out in the open by this time around, it is not safe for her.

   "Gracie"

Still no answer. I took another step further and I saw a shadow moving towards my direction, the shadow turned out to be Gracie. I waited for to get to me and when she did, she sized me up from head to toes.

  "What are you doing here?"

She asked. Her voice was cheerful. I did not know what to make out from it. I thought she was hurting, did she just get over it?

  "I am looking for you, being out here is not safe for you"

She chuckled,

"Did you forget I grew up in the woods? The grass and everything loves me so I can't be harmed."

She said cheerfully.

  "Are you okay?"

She looked at me and gave a small laugh.

"I am fine, excellently fine. Is there any problem?"

   I thought maybe there was no problem before but now, I think there is. It's okay for you to cry, when you are hurt. You can break anything or be sad but for you to act okay like nothing happened, I don't think that's fine where I am.

"I am sorry about earlier, do you wish to talk about it"

 "What are you sorry for? The fact that you took advantage of me or the fact that I am your supposed bride or that mom is suddenly not my mom or that my life has been a lie all along?"

   "I am sorry for everything, for the lies that have been told to you and why it has to be that way. I didn't really stay behind to know the full story. I believe when you find out why Tiana did what she did, you won't blame her that much. I believe there is a reason for all of this"

  I said as I cupped her face.

She shrugged her shoulders and removed my hands from her face.

   "Whatever"

She said and walked into the mansion, leaving me behind.

   I was confused If it was actually Gracie or something has possessed her. She seems different, a lot different from the Gracie I have known. The Gracie I know will not say whatever. It's not in her nature to say that.

  "Give her some time. She will come around. She is probably overwhelmed"

My inner self said and I nodded.

  She will definitely come around.

I turned and walked back into the mansion. I would also like to hear the full story. How Gracie ended up with Tiana. And to think Tiana knew I was seeing Gracie and she did not do anything because there was nothing for her to do. It was fate calling and I was answering the call unknowingly.

  How we trade in the path we are supposed to trade without knowing. We have really been in the dark for so long.

  I got to the throne room to see everyone staring at Gracie while she sat in the middle of the throne room. The atmosphere was chilly and I was not liking it a bit.

 "I think you all owe me an explanation, why was I taken away from birth and who am I? Is it too much to ask?"

  She said looking at Tiana. Tiana sighed and walked to her then sat on the floor with her.

  "I am sorry darling but whatever I did,I did it to protect you. Your life was in danger and the only way to save you was to take you away from your mom. You couldn't have lived to this minute if I didn't do that. It was not my intention to keep the truth away from you. I knew a night like this was going to come. I knew that no matter what, you are going to end up with Theophilus after all. I know I messed up but you have to forgive me. It was for you own good, the good of your people"
