Lucy's point of view….
It's been thirty minutes plus and Gracie was not conscious yet. I was beginning to doubt the doctor's words when she stirred and opened her eyes.
"Theophilus"
She said and I looked around to see if there was anyone in the ward with us but I saw no one. I looked back at her and she was smiling. That's weird but then, Gracie can't ever surprise me because she is surprise, herself. The things she does sometimes makes me question if she is okay or not.
"Gracie"
A look of surprise registered on her face and she looked around then finally registered her stares on me. She rose up slowly.
"Are we not supposed to be at the Boutique by now?"
She asked.
"We are but you lost consciousness on our way to the boutique so we are at the hospital. How do you feel, should I call the doctor?"
She shook her head then laid back on the bed and looked around. She sighed after looking around for some time and closed her eyes.
"Do we still have to stay here, I am okay now. I have a wedding to attend later"
"I will have to ask the doctor if it's possible for you to be discharged now. But I must tell you, you don't have to go to the wedding. There are plenty weddings for you to attend in your life so I advise after you are discharged, we go home and I will look after you"
"You don't have to worry. I am fit to take anything. I must have passed out because of lack of water"
I creased my eyebrows.
"The doctor said, you have a strange liquid in your system and you passed out because the liquid is trying to mix with your blood. Do you have an idea what that could be?"
"No idea, please call the doctor"
I nodded and went out to call the doctor.
Gracie's Point of view…..
Lucy left and I turned towards Theophilus, he was sitting beside me. He was royally dressed and he looks so different, more of a man than a boy. First time I acknowledged that he looks so handsome.
I just opened my eyes and saw him here and I am in the hospital because my system is trying to mix with a strange liquid in my body.
"Are you not supposed to be getting ready?. What are you doing here?
"I felt you were in danger and I found you here. Are you okay now?"
He asked and took my right hands on his.
"I am. I don't understand why I have to be here and what this strange liquid my friend is talking about."
"I think I know"
He said and I looked up at him. Let it not be what I am thinking.
"What is it?"
"I think my blood is trying to mix with yourself"
"I thought as much"
I muttered and pulled my hands from his.
"I don't understand how this whole thing goes, you being a witch and what you meant by that but I don't want to be part of it. You are a prince of an unknown country and a bride has be chosen for you. I offered my blood to you because that was the first favor you ever asked of me not because I want to have anything to do with you, Theophilus. I don't know why your blood has to be the reason I lose consciousness"
He looked at me hurt. He was hurt by my words but what does he expect? I am not a witch like him and I can't imagine myself being with him when I know there is a lady out there chosen for him by whatever he believes in.
"Does it matter what I am, huh? See, my soul has accepted you. Do you want me to be miserable for the rest of my life? I don't care who I am and what I am to do or the lady chosen for me. Gracie, I don't know how you want me to say this but I will say it over again, you are the one I want. When I drank your blood, I thought it was going to be enough for me to forget about you, that it was going to be all of you that I could get, I thought maybe it was right if I marry Abigail. But after everything, I realize that you are the one I want, the one my heart beats for, can't you see?. Look into my eyes and tell me that you can't see that you are a match made for me."
He paused and sighed then took my hands again,
"Marry me, Gracie, will you?"
