Chapter 30: I'll find out!

  "C'mon Ada, what's wrong?" I asked

The three of us sat on a round table looking at each other in confusion and forlorn.

"Ada, say something. Who do we have to deal with?" Lola asked with readiness

"I think Eric is cheating on me...." She blurted

Immediately, the few strands of hair on my skin rose up then I leaned forward

"Not Eric! He can't do no such thing." I said in defense

"He's my husband not yours ok? Im married to him not you..." Ada said to me

I got mad at that statement she made, she spoke as if we had something going on between us.

"No Ada, don't talk to me like that. I'm only surprised as you are, if you think I can't help you then I'd just walk away." I pointed out

"Danni, we are here help her not get mad. Let her have the moment ok? She didn't mean it. Do you?" Lola calmed at the same turning to Ada with a question

"I don't. I'm sorry. He's been up to something lately and I don't seem to get it either. To top it all up, He's been hanging around Mom for sometime now." She narrated

"Wait...you are not trying to say he's cheating on you with your mother right?" I asked

"It could be simply political businesses nothing else. Have you confronted or spied on him or something?" Lola asked

"No! I just think he's been with a girl lately." Ada added

  "And Kayla?" I asked

"She's at the governors' residence. I think its better. I know I've been so busy lately and all stressed up but its doesn't mean he could cheat on me for heaven's sake!" Her eyes welled up.

"Addy! You shouldn't conclude just yet, we should find out instead of letting our conceptions have its way." I advised calming rubbing her shoulder

"...C'mon Danni. Men are crazy though, how could he not? Its possible he did and maybe didn't!" Lola began to flare

"You are not helping too." I said to Lola and turned to Ada who was covered in Tears "Girl, we'd find out about him. He's not getting away with this, a'ight?" I added

"Danni talk to his ass, I can't keep this rolling under my nose. I've got a life to live, I've got rights to know!" She continued sobbing

  "I'll find out!" I assured

"Men are shit sometimes. Don't worry girl, He's probably not doing what we think he is" Lola added again

"I can't take it, I want a divorce ASAP." Ada inquired

"Nah bissh. That's impossible. Don't run from this, fight it. You've got a daughter  who's barely old enough to know what's up! That's the dumbest thing I've heard from you though. Chill girl! We got this." I said

"Ada, you're an attorney and you know how this stuff works better than anyone here, so don't walk into just yet. Let's find out!" Lola advised too.

At the other side within the McClure's, Eric headed to Carol's office. He walked abruptly as she turned to him after hearing sounds of the door clenching. He stood opposite giving her an intense look.

"Eric! I did not expect such unruly behavior from you..." Carol began taking off her glasses

"Oh spare me all that crap, mother! I'm done with this fallacy, I'm done with this pretense... Let's tell everyone the shit we've been up to! I can't sleep on the same bed with my wife hiding the truth from her!" He paced restlessly

She scoffed with a smile

"Go ahead and tell the world about the scandal maybe you'd recognize how absurd it is to indulge in politics." She smacked

"Whatever it is, Madam, whatever it is. I'm sick and tired of this political madness, Carol! My wife now thinks I'm cheating on her, absurd right?" He smirked in anger

"Are you not? Did you ever learn to put your balls together when you got aroused by a whore? Did you?" Carol fired again

"We both know it was a silly mistake. I would never cheat on my wife for no reason. You told me you had this under control, now what's going on?" Eric sat finally leaning over to hear her response

"Look Eric, I don't feel good about this whole thing either. Play your part well and I'd play mine as well, that's a simple request. The world doesn't have to know about this. We both have a reputation to protect." Carol finalized

He smiled faintly and continued

"You know its funny how you tale this for granted. I'm beginning to learn some shit about you that even your children don't know about. You should be careful how you play with me." Eric warned

"Or what exactly would happen?" She smirked and continued "If I should get to the bottom of your mischief, you'd restitute with your reputation and family, trust me. I guess you've never heard about Carol Ivey McClure, ask around." She threatened

"Okie Dokie, Mother! I think I'm scared! I warned you though!" He smiled with sarcasm as he walked out hesitantly.

She sighed with a frown then she took up her cell phone dialing a number

"Follow and Watch Eric, report to me every 3 hours!" She hung up with a smile.

After a few minutes, her Secretary informed her about Mandy who dropped by to see her, then she affirmed. Mandy walked majestically into Carol's office then she sat with a firm.smile

"Hi mother!" Mandy greeted keeping her purse on the table

"You should learn some manners around Here, like booking an appointment before seeing me, Mandy." Carol corrected

"Forgive me, mother, I was overwhelmed...Back to why I came, its your wonderful and promiscuous daughter, Danielle!" Mandy frowned

"What do you mean by promiscuous? Danni is a sweetheart, you know. Why?" She asked again

"She threatened to kill me and my son and you know how terrifying that sounds. I hate it when people become insecure and nosy, you should warn her about invading my privacy." Mandy narrated

"Really? To the fact that I accept your son to be Hunter's, don't think that I have accepted you as an in-law as well, Mandy. I am the only one on your dirty side and nothing is going to change my mind once I've decided my next action towards you. What is it you want actually?"

"Kill her. Kill Danielle." She blurted

Carol was moved at her request

"And why should I do that?" Carol asked

"Because, I realized she'd be too inclined with me and my son, she acts like some angel hiding under the devils' skin" mandy said

"Are you scared about something or what exactly? Because I cannot bring myself to accept your nonchalance Mandy. Your duty here is to protect and mother my son's child not get insecure by what people think about you. You know I'd do anything to protect anything that belongs to Hunter; so I suggest you should be careful to not involve my grandson in whatever that is going in your pathetic life. Or Is there something I need to know?" Carol tilted her eyebrows

"No...No...No Mother. I just think that Danielle might be interfering and really crossing borders so..." She stuttered in between with guilt

"Then you should leave while I get some pending worked upon." Carol concluded.

Mandy stood up shamelessly walking to the door as Carol blurted again

"If anything goes wrong with Danielle and her family, I won't take it light on you, let alone you lying to me about something untrue, that's a double hell. I wouldn't have interfered with Danni's life if it weren't because of Hunter."

"Mo...." She stuttered as Carol interrupted

"Not a word. Now leave." She ordered

 Mandy walked out finally.

In my aboard, I was surprised to see Jamal talk with Jeremy, I stood behind listening

"I hope you liked what you saw?" Jamal's face was firm as always

"Yes sir, I loved it. I can't thank you both enough" Jeremy answered humbly

  "Its for a price."

Jeremy's eyes widened in anticipation

"A price....." Jeremy mentioned underneath his breath

"Yes, a price." Jamal halted with a half smile and continued "That price is undoubtedly the hard work you should put into studies. I look forward to seeing you graduate sooner. Then you'd see what I can do!" Jamal smirked

I felt he was being hard on the poor guy but then Jamal was right fie his actions and I assumed Jeremy understood him but by bit.

"I promise that, sir!" Jeremy sighed heavily and smiled

"That's what Big Dons do, they work hard! I'd arrange your flight back to school and I hope you don't mess up your life just yet. You're a promising young man and I'd love to work with you in the nearest future." Jamal concluded as he patted Jeremy lightly on the shoulder.

  "My pleasure." Jeremy assured

The next I saw was a father and son hug, they looked angelic together. I smiled at myself.

Then I interrupted

"Hey boys! Y'all look good!" I didn't know what to compliment but I did what could regardless

"You've snooping baby, don't lie!" Jamal said

"No. Why would I? I needed to get coffee, that's all" I smiled in defense

Jeremy smiled at us, I knew he loved what he saw. Jamal and I were too fond if each other that sometimes people mistook us for young twins but he was 30 and I was 27, so...

"I should leave y'all to have your 'thing'. Im envious!" Jeremy teased

"You should, big guy!" Jamal teased

Jeremy walked out immediately as u turned to Jamal

"I need to see Eric, something is up with them. I don't think its good." I said

"C'mon. He was your Ex, you know being around him would rekindle some...you know...Tingles!" Jamal teased seriously

I didn't know if he teased as a joke or was displaying his jealousy as always.

"Are you jealous? Coz if you are, then it's your business, darling" I went upstairs

He sighed and followed from behind. I was getting ready to visit Eric. He hoped on the bed to see a movie, I don't think Jamal would never ever forfeit Netflix for anything, None.

"Try not to look overly sexy though!" He teased

I turned to him, he smiled waiting for my response

"You know? I was actually thinking of a shape wear, you know the aura." I teased in return rolling my eyes balls.

"Whatever!.....What's up with them?" He asked seriously

I turned to him and sat on the chair next to the dresser

"Ada thinks Eric is cheating on her with some chic out there!"

"Wow! That's big! So why going to Eric?" He asked

"She insisted that I did. And for real, I think I've got to talk to him. He tells me almost everything so i think I could get some meaningful stuff out of him. Babe, I need to do this for her. I think its really serious!" I concluded turning to the mirror for some touch up

"Be careful. Every couple got crazy nights, do what you can and return to your big guys." He taunted

"Whatever Jamal. I hope its not what I'm thinking, I hope its only her illusion. I'd really not tolerate Eric's madness, seriously."

"He's not your husband. You certainly do not have rights to interfere more than necessary, OK?" Jamal warned

"Ok Babe. I'll tell you about it!" I said

I got dressed in a baggy track suit from Juicy Wears, Jamal loved them. I agreed with the fact that I shouldn't dress sexily to Eric's, that's true. I respect boundaries and I'd be pointless if I breached.
