Chapter 58: Too busy to remember!

Too busy to remember!

The few years I've lived with my mother reminds me of how careful and extra vigilant I have to be about saying what I know. Its one thing to know and another thing to say it out to be known. This was Jada

I was dealing with in this scenario, note scarier than past evil people like Vinnie, then I had to be ready for whatever which included my life and family on the line. That time, I understood Betsy's resilience, she had to protect her life and even her family. I took up my phone to call Betsy, she had better have a few reasons to tell, I thought.

"Hi Betsy! Long time no see!" I began

"Hi Danielle! The one with the Lion's cub!" She teased, whatever that joke meant was crazy to me, absolutely crazy. Then I stopped laughing

"I really need to talk to you about something important, can I proceed? Is it safe to talk over there?" I asked more seriously

"Of course I'm all ears." Betsy sounded curious. I cleared my throat a bit

"Ok! Its about the drive you gave to me last time, did you really check on the informations again? 'Coz I don't get it."

"I did all of that, at a point I'm time; I'd watch it over and over again. Why did you ask?" Betsy asked calmly like she understood I was pressured

"I just wonder why you gave me such an authentic and crucial information to smack down. Do you know how much trouble I'm going to get in or do you know how terrible this is going to be?" I asked worriedly

"Calm down Danielle! I didn't give someone this drive, I gave a capable hand. If you have thought about it like I did, you'd understand its worthwhile." She  tried explained

"Its not about letting it out or being capable, I think I understand why you don't want to do this yourself 'coz you feel its hard to betray an old friend right? So I get to be the victim of this entire fallacy right?" I questioned her the way I felt I should

"Look here sweet girl! I know that I'm being self centered right here but I feel you may need it better than I do but....but if you feel its necessary to not keep it, you can wrap it and squash it or better still throw it into the fireplace. Is that okay?" She suggested to me while I was speechless

"Its fine! I'll see what I can do." I replied

"Good girl. I'd check on the headlines any moment. Thanks!" She hung up sounding comfortable and reliant.

I sat on a leopard stripped chair folding my legs while looking up to the ceiling. Recently I remembered Jamal not being in the support Of this whole justice mission and now Carol and Betsy want the same thing. What hurt more was the fact that I had to be the main person to carry out this deadly mission. I was scared but then I had to be careful, cunning and tactical about it.

Few hours later, since Jamal and had to be at Jordan's school where required a father and son day, I drove to Carol's aboard to talk. I saw Kendall staring intensely at her while she ate apples her favorite fruit. He don't know I was right behind him then I cleared my throat to interrupt his gaze duty.

  "Hi Kendall!" I said

"Oh Hi! You're here. Did you just come in?" He said turning to me

"Oh yes, I just did. You look better today!" I complimented with a grin while he smiled back. He was indeed handsome, especially for the long straight black hair he maintained which was a shoulder length and part fell to his face, his fait skin skin glowed and I suspected it to be another reason Carol liked his countenance, he was friendly and focused yet I haven't heard or seen him talk about a woman he adored.

"Thanks Daniella! Here for business?" He asked after calling me Daniella, he said he preferred it to always remember his late mother who passed away during his service in the army.

"Sure, can we go!" I said as we walked together interrupting Carol this time.

"Hi mother!" We hugged as I called

"Darling, you're here. Kendall!" She said as we all sat round taking apples to eat like her.

"I didn't expect you to come after all the inconveniences and pressure I put you through, I'm really sorry!" She apologized

"I understand. Its Ok, I'm keeping up duly. Where's the governor?" I asked

"He went out for a few drinks with an old friend from college, Prof Marc Finn, that philanthropist, you may know him." She added with a smile

"Well, I'm here for a reason and we all know the reason behind it. I've got a news that could excite you all. Its time to knock off culprits..." I said confidently but less excited

  "Which is?" Kendall asked curiously

"Well...see for your self." I took out my laptop and a drive from the bag, I kept them on the table then I inserted the drive cat the side as it loaded. Then I opened everything they needed to see. They stood silent and  shocked looking at me in amazement. Carol's res lips parted while Kendall stared at me wondering how on earth I got such a huge and life risking proof against Jada, he thought that this would be almost impossible to deal with but then it is.

"Danni, are you being followed? I just can't imagine you taking such an information without getting killed. I expected so much but this is beyond my illusions." Carol said

"Seriously! How did this get into your possession and no one knew about it. You must be a genius from heaven's gate. What!" Kendall almost screamed. I looked at them in slight surprise but they could at least thank me first for my tremendous efforts.

"I did something impossible and all y'all can do is get scared about nothing serious.

Telling you the truth is not easy for me but I got to do what i got to do..." I added

"Now that we've got this, what's our next plan?" Carol inquired

"I know exactly what to do!" I coaxed

We began to strategize about it and everything we could think of.

                  **********************

Ada and Dylan began you to

Condone little and tiny unreasonable arguments. There was a time when Dylan got fed up with Eric's thought, he unleashed.his monster, he hit Ada on the face that later on he had to apologize to her

"Ada, I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me, i just lost it" he looked soberly and innocent while he pleaded

"Three attempts can never be a mistake. I just wonder how many girls you've dealt with like this. I wonder how a human rights activist would do such thing." She reminded

"'I swear to you that I'd never do that again." Dylan pleaded

"Get out of my house! Right now!" She yelled at him as he came closer to hold her arms as she refrained turning away. He repeatedly apologized to her but she declined

"I need my life back, Dylan! I can't keep falling in love and end up getting hurt..." Adam pointed to him

"...but I'm better than the deputy, anyways!" Dylan boasted proudly

"Just shut the hell up, dylan. That's where you got it all wrong, Eric might have cheated on me but he has never-ever laid a finger on me and believe me you'd pay for that." Ada added with a warning

  "What?" Dylan looked surprised

  "You heard me!" Ada said.

The doorbell rang as she ran to the door to get it instantly. Fortunately got her, it was Eric. He came by without a convoy, just himself and his car, he looked very casual and ordinary, she speculated why Eric chose to be different this time around.

"Uhm...Hi! I...uh...Can I come in?" He humble asked

"Sure!" She replied without a bit of rudeness

Eric walked in as met Dylan staring at him with hate and distaste.

"Do you need help with this man?" Eric asked Ada with a fixed gaze on Dylan

"That won't be necessary, deputy. He was just leaving and this time, its for the best!" She said with a smirk

"Ok! You heard her, leave. I could just turn tables and you wouldn't get to see light again. Trust me, I've been there so I know how crazy it is. GET OUT!" Eric yelled with a groan. Dylan walked immediately without turning back to say a word. Ada recently realized that he was using her to get lots of money, that was a business he considered lubricated business. He knew she was from a rich family, so he got into her life like a saint only to extort her money. Eric turned to her and asked

"Are you hurt?" He sounded polite and sweet as always. She only stared at him without a word then his brows squeezed in confusion. She walked towards him slowly as she cupped his face into her palms still staring at him intensely.

"Ada, I swear to you that I'm sorry. I don't know what else to do to pay for what I've done..." She didn't let him finish I'm fret. She  clenched her lips to his then the heat heated, they staggered from the couch side then he lifted her up finding his way to her lavender scented bedroom, he placed her gently on the bed as she helped him take off his clothes then he helped her take off her robes, easy to let go. They sunk into a beautiful moment they once enjoyed a d exchange vows to keep, he was elated by what she did and this time he swore to never hurt her again.

Earlier that day,

Jamal and Jordan returned home while I was out at the McClure's. Jamal headed out for something he had to deal with at work then he called me to know if I was close to his place of work. I knew I was a not far but I still feel decided to drive down as we agreed. We headed to a restaurant we long wanted to try out. We were discussing about his business and how we wanted to expand and relocate a part of it to where we wanted to relocate to. We laughed about our past events and even present events. He taunted me of how angry and ugly I look when i get angry, Jamal was such a teaser. A call interrupted us, it was Jamal's this time.

"Excuse me, babe! Its Belle!" He said swiping to answer while I affirmed. "Belle?... What's wrong?....Wait what?....we'll be right there, just stay put. Ok" he hung up  and said "I don't think this is a good feeling, robbers attacked the house..."

"Jeez Jamal! Our son!" I mentioned as we scurried out of the restaurant. I entered Jamal's car instead abandoning mine, it wasn't the problem at that moment.

Few minutes later, when we got home we found larry badly hurt then then Bella who was beaten as well, I was confused. I called and ambulance immediately reporting to the police as well. Jamal asked

"Where's Jordan? Where's my son?" Jamal looked furious, Bella couldn't say a word, it felt like she was traumatized at that moment. Jamal and I ran upstairs to Jordan's room but he wasn't there, it looked invaded then I turned to Jamal with my eyes welled up in tears

"Where's our son, Jamal? They took him! They took him!" I concluded

"Hey calm down, we'll find him. Believe me on that!" Jamal assured trying to suppress his tears and pain. We headed downstairs

and asked Larry about it

"They took little JK, I watched them drive out but I couldn't chase them because another man pointed a gun at me....I'm So sorry, sir!" Larry apologized in tears

"Its ok. Its not your fault!" Jamal consoled

The ambulance arrived taking Bella and Larry away to the hospital while we waited for the cops to arrive.

They walked in as Jamal ushered them to the couch. They began to ask so many questions about our presence, we explained as expected

"We got back home as soon as we were called at the restaurant we were eating out, our housekeeper told us that we needed to rush back home; that robbers invaded. That's how we knew about." Jamal said

The other cop turned to me

"And you Mrs Khaleefa, did you receive any anonymous calls lately?" Henson asked

"No I didn't. Like my husband said, that was the only thing we knew." I said boldly

"Early hours of today, where were you?" Derick the first cop asked me

"My husband and son were at Jordan's school for a father and son day then I drove down to the ex governors' house. We had a meeting with his wife." I said truthfully

"Afterwards?" Derick asked again taking down notes

"That was when my husband and I headed for a restaurant to eat out. Oh god! He just said that!" I sighed heavily

"Not to get pissed, madam. We're doing our job here. And you Mr Khaleefa, when you returned from the school, where else did you go to?"

"I was called at work earlier before we arrived home but I needed to put my son forte before work....so I uhm...we got back and then I drove to work." Jamal said correctly

"I guess we have what we need to start up, well hold on a bit till the speculated hours then we hit. If you receive any phone call from the abductor, can you let us know? If you can, record the whole conversation, can ya?" Henson asked

"Of course, we would. Thanks for coming!" Jamal said as they shook hands

"We'll stay in touch!" Derick added with a smile.

Jamal followed them out as they drove away, he locked the door as he held my arms gently heading to our bedroom as I curled up into his masculine arms. I cried out silently while he tried to make me feel okay.

"Babe, we'll be fine. We've been through this and we can again....yet alive. Jordan is fine where ever he may be." He said softly

"Waking up to not find my son is enough trouble for me, for us. How could they do this to a poor child? He knows nothing. He's innocent..." I cried out this time unable to hold my tears back. We didn't tell any one about it just yet, we just wanted to sort it out by ourselves. We were home although in silence, Jamal was in pain, I could see it but he was acting up strong to make me strong. I had to think deeply over the possible cause of it.
