Chapter 51: I'm sulking again!

06:49am,

When I opened my eyes, I realized I slept off beside Jamal. He was soundly asleep then I stood up almost staggering, my hair was totally a mess. I tightened up my robes then I wore my flip flops headed to my son's room. I met Bella bathing him while he giggled and splattered water all over, she smiled at every thing he did coupled with a story about Gretel and Hansel. I leaned beside the door watching them then Bella turned to my direction then she wrapped the spiderman designed towel around him as they came towards me.

  "Morning ma'am! Are you ok?"

  "Of course, I think I am. Come here, man!" I embraced Jordan with a smile 

  "Mama! Did you just wake up? Where's Dada?" He said even if the words weren't comprehensive enough but I understood. I didn't how to tell him about his father, I didn't know what was wrong.

  "Dada is asleep but fine ok. You've got to prepare for school. Go on" I handed him over to Bella who gladly accepted him.

  "Ah ma'am, Mr Jamal has been acting weirdly lately, shouldn't we get the doctor 'coz I could call him right away..."

  "Never mind. I got a doctor on the way, just continue while i check up on him..." I assured her, she was really concerned like i 

was 

  "I love you honey!" I said to Jordan

  "I love you too, Mama." He answered giggling then i walked out immediately. 

I got to the room and found Jamal taking his clothes from his closet, he didn't notice my presence. I closed the door behind me and sat at the edge of the bed adjacent his direction. I was silent for some seconds then I blurted out calmly asking

  "Morning baby. Did you sleep well?" 

  "Morning honey." He answered rudely like he never wanted to say something.

  "Yo what's up, why are you even rude to me. I'm your wife...." I stated almost calmly then he interrupted

  "....my wife doesn't have the right to call a doctor without my knowledge...." He scolded flinging his clothes to the tiled floor. Then I stood up looking before speaking

  "...Jamal you're not well. You changed, you are seriously sick..." I defensively said

  "Do I look sick to you? Seriously do I? Calling Nina was the best option you got, yeah?" He asked yelling at me. Jamal does not yell at me like this, i was scared and terrified. A knock on the door interrupted. Bella and Jordan came in

  "Dada, are you yelling at Mama?" Jordan said, I was stunned at the little boy's words

  "Err...no son. just having an adult conversation..." Jamal answered

  "But I heard you...."

  "C'mon Jordan, tell them bye as we planned." Bella interrupted Jordan to not go  further

  "Bye Mama. Bye Dada!..." He said 

  "Good boy." Bella said

  "Bye honey, I'll come pick you up, alright?" I added. Jordan nodded positively then he turned to Bella as she held his right hand then said to her as they walked out.

  "Why's Dada yelling at her..."

  "He's not yelling, they're talking!" Bella said

I turned to Jamal with an unforgiving look

  "Don't look at me like that, woman." He said

  "What are you hiding from me, Jamal." I asked folding my arms with a firm look

  "Hi...Hiding what?" He turned after rubbing his beard

  "Jamal, what are you hiding from me? I'm not going to ask you again?" I ordered him but he fell on deaf ears. He turned away leaving the room. I took my cell phone and dialed Nina.

  "Nina, I'm so sorry about what Jamal must have said to you. I really am." I apologized

  "Its ok. I really understand, coming over would be a lot of problem, yeah?" She said

  "Er....I don't think so, you could over."

  "Oh no Danni, no force since he's not causing damages..."

  "Hurting my feelings is enough damages, Nina." I countered defensively

  "Ok, I'll come by."

  "Thank you!" I appreciated then hung up.

I sat on the floor beside bed holding my head in confusion. Just when I began to feel comfortable suddenly I had issues. I was confused on what to do next then my phone buzzed. At first, I had no intention to pick then I gave in. It was Kabir my coworker.

  "Hi Kabir, what's up?" My voice sounded dim and moody

  "Are you ok, ma'am. Anyways, meeting starts by 9am and this 8:09pm..."

  "Right. I'll be on my way soon, just do what you got to do before I step in ok?"

  "Count on me!" He assured me and hung up.

I just remembered I had a meeting with investors, Jamal got me unstable. I rushed to the shower after brushing up my teeth. I stared at the mirror lost in thoughts then the door squeaked. I wrapped my towel around my bare skin immediately briskly walking to the bedroom. Jamal was sitting on the bed under the blanket while his left hand held the remote controller. 

  "Jamal, would you like me to prepare breakfast before I leave for the meeting?" I asked politely while sitting on the dresser's stool wiping off the water droplets on my skin.

  "No I'm fine." He said without looking towards my direction

  "Ok. Aren't you going to work? You told me you had some paper work to work on." I tried to stir up a conversation avoiding his mood swings

  "I don't feel like talking right now, do you mind?" He asked

  "I do but I guess there's nothing I can do." I turned way to oil my skin

  "I'm sorry. I hope you understand." He added

  "I don't want to hear it." I said expressing my anger in the lightest manner I could.

He wanted to say something but he was held back by what I didn't know. I didn't bother at all, I dressed up in a black and white stripped jumpsuit and white blazer topping it, my hair was wrapped in a bun, my heels were black then my makeover was a nude kind all set for work. I took my purse and my laptop bag on the other hand as I stopped facing Jamal.

  "I'm off to work. If you need me around, I could just drive down..."I offered

  "You don't have to ask, I'd be fine." He maintained his gaze on the TV screen watching a soccer sport. I walked out not minding his attitude towards me.

I rushed to my car at about 08:35am, then I threw my purse at the back seat then gently kept the laptop bag, I wouldn't dare nonsense with a Mac book pro.

I drove to work, good thing there wasn't much traffic as I expected. I arrived 09:05am, such a bad example from a CEO.

  "I'm so sorry for arriving this late y'all, I got held up at traffic. My apologies." I pleaded as I sat on my seat

  "Good thing you arrived early, we were about to proceed without the CEO..." Harvey teased as we laughed to his joke. No way they could start up a meeting without my presence, at least not for this meeting that highly recommends my opinions. The meeting took us about 3 hours before we adjourned It to the following week, same day same time. I headed to my office, the first thing I did after having coffee and three slices of toasted bread, I dialed Jamal's line. It rang countlessly before he picked up.

  "Babe!" He sounded better off than Earlier

  "Babe, are you good?"

  "Of course. I...ah...went to the gym instead. Done with meetings?" He asked me nicely

  "Oh sure. We adjourned, I wasn't satisfied plus we got a lot to work on before jumping into a big Yass." I added jovially

  "That's sweet, I know you'd always do better. Ok, I'll come pick up a'ight, just call me when you're done for the day." He offered

  "I brought my car. Anyway, I'd call you up by 6pm. Is that ok?"

  "Anytime perfect by you. I'd pick Jordan, I want to make up for earlier. I'd handle it." He suggested.  

  "Ok baby see you soon. Love you!"

  "Love you more!" He hung up.

I was surprised at his behavior, one time he was nice and another time he was rude as hell. I didn't stop searching for help, at least Nina was psychiatrist.

07:05pm

  "I was thinking about doctor Brownie, did she come over or did she call you?" I inquired.

His mood changed, into a thicker frown

  "I needed a break so I asked her to halt for a while." He excused himself

  "Well, you didn't tell me so how's that suppose to make me feel? Ok, I understand. But she has not been taking my calls or replying emails, its frustrating. One day you wake up and everything changes, I don't get it." I explained heartily

  "What are you trying to say to me, that the....there's something missing or what? Look here Danni, I'm trying as hard as possible to be a good husband, I'm trying so hard to please you but you don't see it." He said too almost getting tensed up.

  "You're doing just great but you just need to step up....like....being better and not taking every word I say harshly." I pointed out then he sighed and said finally

  "Maybe you should work on yourself too!" This time he spoke in a calm tone, we were both silent until we got home. We took our showers in turns and ignored each other,p trying not to cross our paths again. I hopped on the bed after I had gotten dressed in my black robes, I took my earplugs to listen to Some real nice hip hop RandB songs. Suddenly Lola's call came in

  "Hey Lola."

  "Danni, I didn't get your calls nor texts, what's wrong?"

  "I...I was busy and I didn't want to bother you too, c'mon that was your honeymoon so I didn't want to ruin it..." I explained in derails

  "That's not an excuse, is it? You know you can call me at anytime of the day. How's Jamal and my little man?"

  "All fine! You should come see Jordan 'coz he misses you very much."

  "More reasons why I called. I'd be back in town in two days time, get ready to get spoilt..." She jeered as we laughed. We conversed for 5-10 minutes before hanging up finally. Jamal stil wouldn't say a word to me, i took it the was i saw it. 

The next morning,

07:07am,

Bella came into our bedroom after a knock on the door, Bella told me that Nina has come to see me, I scurried down the bed to the living room then I halted when I sighted Nina. She looked gorgeous In an all black leather outfit and a pair of black boots.

  "Morning Nina!" I went towards her

  "Danielle! I had to come over as early as possible 'coz I got work after this appointment so..." She explained, then I smiled. I realized we had been standing although, I messed up my manners

  "Oh sorry. Please sit.....Belle?"

Bella came forth like a robot immediately

  "Yes ma'am!"

  "Could you....." I turned to Nina for confirmation of what she'd like to have "....Sorry, what would you like for breakfast?" I asked politely then she smiled

  "Just coffee, no milk please!" She said

  "Ok. No cookies...we got strawberry cakes, apple cookies, vanilla and chocolate cakes....your pick!" I added, any of these would go

  "Oh Danni. I'll prefer chocolate cakes, a very little portion."

Bella affirmed then went away

  "Sorry for the inconveniences."

  "Oh no its nothing. Chocolate cakes would do the work." She teased as we laughed. Bella approached with a tray of coffee and cakes then she turned

  "Ma'am, would you like something good as this?" Bella teased but she really wanted to serve me breakfast. She always looks out for me and only take good care of my son, she takes good care of Jamal and I and even others.

  "I'd love what she's having, its appetizing!" I added, they smiled at me. Bella left again.

  "So about Jamal? Where's he?" Nina asked

  "Oh him, he's asleep I guess. Should I get him for you."

  "Not right away, I'd ask you  a few questions then we get on him." She said

  "Ok, so where do we start?" I asked curiously. Again! Bella interrupted with my part of the food, she served and scurried away to get Jordan prepared for school.

Nina took out a pen and book from her purse

  "So, For how long have you noticed some abnormal behaviors?"

  "Almost the forth week now. Sometimes I get confused about his mood swings, he seems nice sometimes and other times he goes terrible with his attitude. He speaks to me rudely...." I explained

  "When was the last time he hung out with family and friends?"

  "I really can't remember. Most times he plans on meetings on hanging out with Tommie and Mustapha, he tells me about it. If we don't we get to see he calls me through the phone. Honestly Nina, my husband is a changed person and it don't feel good. He yells at me for no reason." I explained again then I sipped on coffee

  "Do you think that something scares him off, something might just not be to his favor which results to his wildness." Nina asked again. I wondered but that question was the most important of all.

  "Err! About that. I'm not sure if he's Hiding anything from me but I think he is. I really don't want my illusions taking charge. I really don't think he is." I said confidently

  "Do you think he might have cheated on you? Don't panic! This is a common situation, Danni! I'm only doing my job!" She tried to make me understand but I wasn't worried at all.

  "Not at all. Not once. Jamal wouldn't cheat on me and so would I. It might be something else but not cheating." I assured defensively

  "Ok this is really not good but good thing he wouldn't cheat. Most men have such short comings and even women. I have treated so many patients and now I'd have to work on Jamal. Can I see him?" Nina asked finally

  "Mm-hmm!" I stood up then she said

  "Don't worry about what he'll say, we can handle it, alright?" She said confidently

  "Mm hmm!" I went up stairs

I entered the room, he was just out of the shower then I felt stinky to not shower so i walked towards him with a smile

  "Morning Jamal!".I simply greeted

  "Morning babe! Did you sleep well?"

  "Yes I did. Did you?" I asked him

  "I don't know. What's for breakfast?" He asked still oiling his body without looking at me.

  "Anything you want. I'd gladly prepare it."

  "That's sweet." He said wearing a white long sleeved body hug t-shirt

  "And uhm...just go downstairs while I go to the kitchen to prepare something. You didn't tell me your specifics for the Morning." I reminded

  "Ah yeah. Toasted bread and tea. Just that." He said

  "Ok that's cool." I said to him. I went closer to him to kiss him on the lips, as soon as my lips approached his he digressed causing my kiss on the lips turning to a kiss on the cheek. I was hurt. This is what we do numerously and he now he felt irritated? I was shocked. I couldn't remember the last time we kissed or made love and now this? He interrupted my thoughts

  "I'll be downstairs waiting for my wife's breakfast." He said with a very faint smile as he left. I followed from behind. When he got to the living room, he met Nina who was writing down some words. 

  "Nina!" He called in surprise

She raised her head up to see him then she smiled nicely

  "Jamal. Nice to meet you!" She stretched her hand for a handshake, he didn't declined. He sat on the other couch

  "I didn't know you'd come, my bad. For the other time." He apologized

  "Its nothing I totally understand you."

  "I hope you don't think that I'm sick? 'Coz that's exactly what my wife thinks." He added

  "Not really, I wouldn't jump into conclusions for now. I think I should ask you few questions and that's it." Nina simply said

I interrupted with his breakfast this time. He nodded with a smile

  "Thanks!"

  "Hmm." Then I walked over to Nina 

  "Danni, could you please excuse us for a while. I need to talk to him alone." Nina suggested

  "That's ok. Take your time as far as he gets better." I added then i turned Jamal "I'd be upstairs just incase you need something."

  "Ok!" He answered me almost shrugging, I ignored him then I rushed upstairs.
