Chapter 102: Quest!

Quest!

Past 6pm,

I drove to the family house dressed in a Louis Vuitton suit and shoes, i parked my parked my cat at the parking space then i hoped out if the car headed to the entrance as i pressed the door bell. I waited for only a few seconds as Larry opened the door, get was excited to see me after a long. I really don't visit often, i visit once in a month which was enough for. I believed in independency. Everything was the same as always except for the decors that fluctuated then i sighted my parents sutyuing on the couch. Mother rested her head on fathers thighs while he placed his leg leg on the stool in front of his seeing a movie then i interrupted clearing my throat. They turned to me suddenly as mother jumped in my excitedly

"My little boy!" She said then i hugged father as well, he smiled.

"Good to see you, boy!" He said in an accommodating voice.

"Where's Yeesha?" I asked, i wanted to see my kid sister hope around me like always

"Oh her! She's upstairs! Probably taking a shower after preparing dinner. We should eat already!" Mother said then we marched to dining room taking positions respectively. I was surprised to not see Bella around, i was compelled to ask instantly.

  "Where's Belle?"

"She took a day off. Jeremy says it's important he sees her, i just wonder if everything is fine but if its not then she'd call home!" Mother narrated. These couple don't ever grow old, young as always like I've always known them except for father who groaned more thicker beards while mother added some hips, these guys amaze me anytime i drop by to see them.

"Look who we got!" Yeesha screamed from a short distance as she rushed to hug me. I felt her warm embrace, she missed me badly.

"I really hope there's no animal hurting 'coz I wouldn't buy that, you know that right?" I asked with a serious look

"Not at all! About that..." She served us respectively then she sat to eat as well, she turned to me to continue. "...I found someone that worships me, Clinton Fayette." She explained. I saw the excitement in her eyes which means she cares for him too. Then i shrugged, i felt overprotective.

"Is he any better than i am?" I asked as all eyes rested on me. They think it was the stupidest question I've asked.

  "Are you...ok Kareem?" Mother questioned

"Why not! Its only a check. I've got to know whom she's with. Guys these days don't stay true!" I explained without being intimidated.

"That's it son! I reacted that way too!" Father concurred. It was awesome to hear that father was on my side,no regrets. Yeesha laughed.

"Y'all are jealous that I'm going to be with another man aside you all!" She said correctly "But don't worry, Clinton is a perfect gentleman. Y'all know I go for the best not cheap pills!" She said proudly. I believed her because a 13 months earlier she complained about a guy dhe dislike yet he was on her neck until she threatened to arrest him then he refrained, she doesn't look twice if you weren't her taste. Clinton must have won her lottery and more reasons i have got to talk to him urgently, I'd do my part.

"That's graceful! I've got to see him tomorrow, hook us up!" I instructed

"That's my son!" Father added patting me lightly on my back with a smile

"Khaleef! Kareem!! This is ridiculous. Why are teaming up?" Mother asked shrugging

"Mama you did not marry a push over, you got married to a man, the coolest and wealthiest so what's the big deal if i decide to have just a chitchat with this new guy called Clinton Fayette?!" I asked my mother, she rubbed her neck in slight guilt, i was absolutely right. They laughed.

"Kareem's right! I would not talk about Clinton if he was not up to the task!" Yeesha defended, she was certain about him. We ate for a few minutes mother began

"Back to why i invited you over!" Mother stirred up wiping off her mouth with a serviette. "Your father and i have been speculating over your love life...ahh...we don't seem to understand what on earth is going on." She stopped. I cleared my throat with a serious face then wiped my mouth

"I haven't found the one yet!" I blurted out

"Who finds 'the one' like you claim, you produce one.

Your are 28 for crying out loud..." Mother countered

"28 is just a number and besides I'm not too old to marry eventually, I'll find someone at the appointed time." I explained duly

"Look here Kareem..." Father began. "Its time you found yourself a woman....a compatible one." He said. This is what i hate about them, one time they'd be on your side and another time they'd gang up against you. I sighed in distress

"Seriously Mama, is this why you called me?" I frowned

"Of course. This is important and urgent..." She emphasised

"For heavens' sake how is this important and urgent?!" I asked them bjt they weren't moved "Honestly Ma! If is this why you called me then I'd rather not be here, for real."

"Don't start with that shit!" Father scolded "Look at Yeesha..."

My face squeezed immediately, comparing me with Yeesha again.

"Nah Dad! Don't start with the comparisons. I fell in love with someone i prefer not someone y'all chose for me. Allow JK to decide for himself, he's man remember?" She defended

"Thank you, Yeesha, thank you!" I concurred

"It don't matter to me at all!" Mother said defiantly. "Let me ask! Do you have a girl in mind?" She asked

"Not right now but i..." I said then she interrupted me

"...Then Lorraine is a perfect match for you. Don't worry, we got everything covered!" Mother blurted out.

I was frozen for nearly ten seconds with my mouth slightly open. How could Lorraine be a pick door me, i wasn't seeking for such kind of bong! I said to myself.

"Are you kidding me right now? Are you picking Lorraine as a wife for me?" I smirked in anger. "Dad? What's going on? Grandpa did not force you to marry mom, did he?"

"That's a perfect choice for you, Kareem. She's got everything you could think of in a woman." He added sternly

"I Can't believe y'all right now!! Who does a match make in this era? I'm grown up, I'm no longer the little Kareem you know. I can make choices because I'm now a man so lets not take that drive...." I explained angrily

"Or what exactly would happen?" Mother asked sternly

"Im not going to let that happen. I've lost my appetite!" I threw the serviette on the table then i walked out

"Kareem? Kareem?" Mother called but i ignored. I headed to the living room instead

"Mother y'all should let Jordan choose for himself. He can make decisions can't you see?" Yeesha scolded

"I really can't see, so how about you make me to! Now you have his back because y'all children enjoy hopping from one person to the other..." Mother blurted out angrily

"...Enough Danni! Don't say that to them! My children are not sluts!" Father fired

"How could you think of me that way? I didn't say our children are sluts..." Mother got defensive

"But that's what it means. Hopping from one person to another, that's the meaning. Its logical!" Yeesha corrected

"And unethical to not get married when you should. It doesn't make any sense! Not for a moment!" Mother said leaving to get room. Yeesha turned to father instantly

"Dad! You are not saying anything! Why's that! Are you also in support?"

"Princess!" He called to calm her down

"Don't 'Princess' me dad! You're not letting this happen, are you? Not because we are friends with the Wilbur's gives ample right to marry them coz i'm pretty sure that i'd have gotten married to Brian if he didn't have a pick!" Yeesha said correctly

"C'mon Yeesha, i wouldn't let that happen..." Father defended

"...Then how about Jordan? He's my brother and that includes him being a your son, are you not fighting for him too?" She asked then i drew closer

"I'm sorry but Danni Is my wife and i think we know best!" He blurted out

"Really?" I asked from behind them he attempted to talk but i motioned with my hand for nothing not to. "We'll see about that!" I said then he walked running upstairs to meet his wife. I sat next to Yeesha who was disappointed at them, she looked unhappy.

I knew that it would definitely come to this but i was certain that I'll find someone i love just like Darkie.

"Yeesha?" I called calmly as i embraced her. It felt like she was the victim while i was the supporter, i felt loved with the way she defended me.

"Our family sucks! I had to fight to keep Clinton because they thought that some guy from the Mason's family was fit for me because he was mayor's son. I fought to keep Clinton because he's worth keeping. Thats what i want you to do, follow your heart! I don't care if she's rich or poor, slim or fat, pretty or not, black or white, maid or CEO, working class or strippers or dancers....follow your heart big guy!" She advised. It was another sweet thing I've heard from her today. The moment she mentioned stripper, my mind traveled to that seductress at the strip club. If i had told my parents that i was in love with a stripper then I'd be a dead man alive.

"Thanks Yeesha, you're the best thing that has happened to me you know. Times when mom and dad criticise the decisions I made, you stood beside me. I'd do the same for you but I'll still talk to Clinton tomorrow, come with him tomorrow." I said then i kissed her forehead like old times.

"I'm grown you know!" She blushed

"It does not change the fact that you can't be older than i am. You'll always be my little Ayeesha." I assured.

Yeesha insisted that oi drive her to the restaurant Clinton would be at since i was driving home.

08:12pm,

I got home already exhausted as Zach opened the door obediently, i guess first days aren't a bad start. I asked about Gianna then he said he wasn't sure if she'd be inside. I headed to my bedroom that was nearly tidied up, she must have done something much cleaning for the day. I went downstairs again then i saw her preparing the table, probably for dinner.

"Welcome sir!" She said then while her face fell to the ground.

"Gia! Why are you still here? Should you not be home at 6?" I asked like i didn't want to see her.

"Yes sir, i made dinner so i was thinking i could serve you before leaving!" She explained Innocently. I shrugged

"Do i look handicapped to you? I was doing pretty well before you came in so what's the dinner preparations all for?" I scolded unreasonably.

"I made a mistake and i wouldn't repeat such again. Im sorry, sir!" She said in remorse.

The door bell rang interrupting my rude sessions

"Zach, get the door!" I screamed still staring at her. She looked intimidated and helpless, her white skin glowed. A button on her chest parted then i sigted her full chest while she struggled to fix it up, she had no idea i was still staring at her.

"What's up buddy?" I heard Lamar's voice then i turned to him

"Hey bro!" We hugged then jeff came forward making a phone call about work, we hugged anyways. Gianna greeted immediately

"Welcome sirs!" she said with beautiful smile. Lamar smiled better than Jeff. Jeff had seen her earlier today except Lamar.

"Hey pretty! Could you help me with this..." Lamar asked politely

"...And this please!" Jeff handed his bag too. It was not heavy for her to carry

"Why plead! She's paid for that!" I snapped then i walked to the refrigerator to get our special weekend drink, Hennessey. They followed me to the kitchen as well all positioned ourselves at the counter. We mixed the Hennessey with some cranberry for softer results.

"I saw the way you were staring her Kareem, you don't get enough do you?" Lamar asked

"What's that suppose to mean? That ordinary girl?" I added

"I caught you staring at her chest....lustfully!" He said. Lustfully was his exaggeration.

"I was talking to her before her button parted so don't make me look like the bad guy!" I said defiantly

"She's pretty though but not your class remember that!"

"She's a mere maid. I have no business with her!" I added.

Gianna came forth and asked

"Is there anything i could do for you, sir?"

  "Go ho..."

"...We need food! Could you handle that too?" Jeff asked

"Why not! I prepared some food. I'll get it!" She said politely

My friends seemed interested in this girl's countenance. I liked her courtesy but i can't help it being rude to girls because i believed that they were only out to take more than bargained for. She did as promised. When it was my turn to serve my plate i stopped

  "Don't. I'm not hungry!"

She retracted. My friends had mounted on their food.

"Sir! Can i speak with you for a minute. It's concerns work i p...promise!" She said pleadingly

"It can not be aside work, you know that!" I said sarcastically. We went few inches distant from the counter. She looked a bit confident this time.

"Sir Jordan! I would like to ask if i can close at 6pm  everyday? I....I...Its ok if you don't agree but I'd really appreciate if you..."

"Yes! I want you to make the slightest mistake to leave afterall!" I mocked. "Well, its okay but may i know why?" I said with a firm look folding my arms across. She rubbed her arm gently then continued

"Its...I do night jobs...i study through the night..."

"Whatever Gia, you can leave. Could you do the dishes before you leave. Thanks?!" I smiled halfway then I walked away in my elegance. My friends were done eating then we headed to my bedroom. They showered in turns while i connected our play station 5, like old times.

After 15 minutes of the game,

We heard a soft on the door

"What now, Gia?" I asked almost hoarsely. She tilted her head then entered. She looked nervous already.

"Come play with us! Smash or pass!" Lamar asked politely

"No thanks sir!" She smiled then she turned to meet my gaze "Sir Jordan, i should be on my way now. Would you like something else?" She asked nicely

"That's ok! Go now!" I instructed turning to the screen.

"Alright! Good night!" She said then she left closing the door behind her.

My friends turned to me instantly.

"What's up with the attitude?" Jeff asked

"Jordan has always been like that!" Lamar added

"She's at my service not yours!" I clarified.

"Well that's your problem, president rude!" Jeff taunted, they laughed

"Was that suppose to annoy me?" I asked "Whatever man!"

"How did it go at your parent's earlier?" Jeff asked.

I sighed in distress again. I was reminded of the nasty decisions my parents were about to take against me.

"Its about marriage!" I blurted out even if I didn't, I'd definitely need their advice. They were slightly stunned.

"What did you say?" Lamar asked

"What was i supposed to say? Nothing! I ain't got no one."

"That's a mess bro! You should've told them you were seeing someone." He said

"That's crazy. You can't say that, they'd always find out! I thought about the future not the present!" I explained

"What did they say since you were negative?" Lamar asked

"You won't believe my wife to be....in their terms!" They looked curious "Lorraine Wilbur" I turned away instantly to hide my eyes from their sarcastic laughter but to my shock, they did not laugh.

"You don't mean it?!" Jeff exclaimed in surprise

"Tell us the truth!" Lamar coaxed

"That's the truth, dude! Its either her or no one since i had no options or preferences. It dropped a bombshell in my heart. I just don't know what to do right now! Girls are hard to find."

"They are not! You didn't search for one!" Jeff said rightly

"If Darkie was alive, we would not go through all of this...."

"Im sorry for that but its better that she died. If she was alive, she'd definitely die early and probably your child, that's double pain.!" Lamar said. I was angry at that statement but he was right anyways, that was too blunt to say to someone like me.

"At least, she was a better pick. I really don't know how to get her off my mind!" I explained

"That was a teenage infatuation..." Jeff blurted. I was surprised at that comment too, Jeff has been speaking gibberish these days because he says nothing reasonable.

  "Are you serious?"

"No like....the moment you let yourself fall in love again, her memory might just go beneath, trust me!" Jeff said

"We had a deal remember? Don't mess this up, bud!" Lamar reminded them i scoffed with a smile as well.

We continued discussing about our relationships and how we wanted them to be.
