Chapter 118 Sub 4: I know me better

I know me better!

 I entered the room abruptly and met Gia answering a phone call, the moment she sighted me, she hung up. I was confused at the moment.

  "Gia? Are you...ok?" I asked

  "Uh! Er! I'm totally fine! Did you see something different?" She asked me instead

  "I aske you first!" I emphasised. "Anyway, I'd be out with my boys. Do you want something?" I asked, i loved to be a good husband.

  "Oh no!"  She snapped. She drew closer with a smile then wrappedd he around me and kissed me on the lips. "I really thought that you'd spend such time with me?" She asked but i couldn't tell if she was teasing or not. "Baby, im pregnant remember?" She added. I really forgot, the negativity had an influence on me already.

  "Oh babe! Er...how could i forget, of course i know. I'd be back before you know, we just got to talk about something, do you mind?" I explained

  "Of course! You should some time with me...not them! Anyways, if you prefer them then go ahead baby!" She added turning away. Did she really have to make me choose, i asked myself. I walked towards the door instead.

  "Jordan? Don't you care anymore? Are you choosing them over me, your wife..." she asked in disappointment then i stopped

  "You asked because you knew were certain I'd always choose, why are making me choose already? C'mon Gia, is there something i got to know?" I asked too

  "Like what...."

  "No, you tell me!" I demanded but i got silence, what i expected. I walked closer to her "You know i do this alot, we hang every time. We have been doing this ever since we were children and on not picking sides either! I'd be back in an hour!" I kissed her on the forehead softly then she smiled. "I love you Gia, you come first you know.  What'd you think?"

  "On that's fine, i was only being silly?!" She chuckled

  "That's expensive abd not funny, i hate to choose between the most important people in my life!" I stated politely

  "Yes i know, i can't forget! Im sorry. I don't need nothing, I'll be Jane if i need something." She assured.

  "That's my girl! Thanks babe, i got to go!" We hugged and then i headed to the parking space then my phone buzzed. I ignored for the first, second end third then gave into the fourth.

  "Who's this?" I asked almost shrugging off

  "Oh uhm...this is Tiana Daw..."

  "...Ok lady, im simply not interested again a'ight? Besides where on earth get my number?" I asked

  "Now that's what I've waited for, your question!" She laughed "If you want to know Jordan, meet me at the address I'm going to send to you after now! You don't wanna hang around, do you?" Tiana demanded in a polite and sarcastically.

  "What's...What's that all about? How did you know my name..." I stated then cleared my throat the continued "...Can you not call me again? First, i dont know you and secondly, the last thing I'd want to do is we you." I blurted but she laughed 

  "And you don't wanna miss this Jordan, believe me!" She hung up. 

  "Hello...He...!" I realised that there was no point trying to reach out. I ignored her instead.

08:19pm,

  "Ok Kareem? You don't always keep to time abd today's different...." Lamar asked

  "...You don't come around late when you've got a problem but im baffled that you arrived late even in trouble. Jeff added

  "My bad guys, i was held up with Gia, talking!" I snapped

   "About Gia, i simply don't get it!!" Jeff turned serious

  "Simply don't understand what? We are not here to talk about my privacy, we here you talk about the industry..like..." I tried to explain but Lamar interrupted

  "We could actually talk about both issues, guys!"

  "No! Im the one with the problem so we are talking about the industry not about his and i!" I said

  "Like he said, we'd talk about everything!" Jeff added

  "You win...just this time.!" I snapped "how would you feel if you were told about a massive blow that could make you go big and your dreams gets slashed, what would you do?"

  "You don't have to beat around the bush, you could just spell it out!" Lamar demands

  "Alright! Father promised me the industry over the years, i worked hard over the years to prove myself which i did. The question is why would he slash the position like i earnrd like i begged for it?" I asked in distressa

  "That's not cool but..." Jeff stopped staring at Lamar and i like her demanded an answer. "...Do you really think its that bad? I mean, he's Hazel's husband not a stranger..."

  "And it stays im your family, Kareem! Why fret?" Lamar said

 "Im not fretting. Im only watching out for whats mine, guys! At least, my father could give him something else since we've got over a dozen. I deserve some respect and not some humiliation or ridicule 'coz Yeesha went as far looking me in the eye to tell me that CLINTON us way better than i am, is that fair? You tell me!" I stopped then gulped down the mexican whiskey.

They stared back at each other then me again, that was awkward too.

  "It hurts, Man! You really look at this on the brighter side, you've knoen Clinton for a while now, you've assessed him and he turned out to be perfect...your words remember? He couldn't have lured for that position bro, your father must have given it to him out of good will and definitely his way of meriting Clinton. That's how i see it!" Jeff said

  "On the other hand..." Lamar began with a slight look of discontent on him "Don't you also think..." Jeff interrupted

  "I said, on the brighter side of it except..

  "...If there's got to be another reason!" Lamar added

  "You think?" I asked like they've got the answers you my question. "Like...we were invited for dinner the house and Yeesha broke some good news about being pregnant so could that be a sole reason why father made him CO?" I stopped finally

  "Why do you think so? That can not be a reason, how many times do i have to explain this to you. Chill!" Jeff said

  "Maybe. Just maybe. He talked about an heir and that's some sort of ridicule you know. I was humiliated, good thing Clinton wasn't there if not..." I stopped, i had a long face on.

  "This is not good, i didn't know there was so much attached to being the Industry. Why's that anyways?" Lamar asked. They both seemed concerned at that point.

  "Obviously, Mr Khaleefa says nothing 'coz if he did then he'd say something, right?" Jeff asked me, i gave a faint nod. "Bro, we had no idea it was this bad. What does Gia think about this though! I mean she should have a day."

  "I couldn't tell her! She had to find pit in an explosive argument Yeesha and i had earlier. Im wounded off! I explained to her and she feels guilty over, that was the thing i tried to ignore." I explained

  "Look Jordan, im not trying to be inconsiderate but you both have to sort a way or tell us what exactly is going on. Its almost two years and nothing, you didn't just decide not to have a child Kareem if you announced a baby's arrival more than twice. There's no positive response from you and all of this, man! Is Gia realky ok?" Jeff asked again

  "Of course she is, why's that? She's perfectly fine!" I said defensively

  "No she's not!" Jeff countered

  "Yes she is..." I said in defiance

  "No she's not, Kareem!" Jeff countered again "She wouldn't lose her back every single time, its logical so yjknk about it! If you had told your father about then i really doubt of he's gonna flash that position. He could have that duo blessing thing in mind, since he's got two children then the best way is to slash, think of it that way!" Jeff explained. He was absolutely correct and i just got to realize that he's actually telling the truth.

  "You've got a point there but there's got to be a solution." Lamar began "If Gia's got a terrible condition on the basis of having a child then why stress when you both could agree on a surrogate?" He suggested

  "That's a pount too!" Jeff snapped

  "I don't want a surrogate! We both don't need a child or something, we mustn't!" I countered defensively

  "Well if you wabt to a CEO to the Industry without a Co then that's the only solution, you could have a child. You can't suffer at very early stage, Jordan! If sge loves you she'd do just that, a surrogate!" Lamar stated. "Most girls want to have your sperm sprouting un them though." He added teasing, we smiled to it and that's was the truth.

  "Think bro? Something can be done! We all know that you love Gia to death but you both don't have to endure in pain and suffering in the name of 'no child' thing, you can always have a child. Think!" Jeff added finally. 

I hopped into my car after an extensive discussion with my friends, Jeff and Lamar made a lot of good points but ut wasnct easy to admit, i wanted that position and not necessarily a child but the conditions before me required bluntly a child. I was burning up there. Gia suggested the same thing as my friends but it seemed like being emotionally backmailed suddenly, i wanted a seldom way out not the obvious.

At about 1am, a sudden and sharp sound interrupted, it sounded like something was screeching against mirror or so. I ignored. Few minutes later, Gia stood before staring at me, i realized when i opened my eyes. I sat up immediately.

  "She's been calling you severally, i don't care who it was but calling a mid night is a sin, Jordan!" She stated angrily. I wiped my eyes carefully then tried to hold her hand but she ignored. I knew i had alot of explaining to do.

  "Babe its not what you think..." I began

  "...I'm not thinking something, are you guilty already?"

 "Chill Gia, i don't even know her!" I said truthfully still sleepy

  "Of course you do, isnct she Tiana? She's got a name so you know her! Gosh!" She held her forehead "Who's she by the way?"

  "I don't know Gia, she's been calling ever since but i promise that i don't know her. I had to save her number not to..." There! I had no reason to save her contact, what do i say, i thought!

  "Do you realize you've got no reason?" She asked like she was in my mind

  "I don't but she wants to talk to me about something important..."

  "How would you Jordan, girls lie! They'd always say something to get to you!" She stated and i believed her.

  "She seemed serious...i could just hear her out, you never can tell babe. For real!" I added

  "No, you don't have to! She's lying and you've got to know that too!"

  "Gia, why are you even ranting? Its late sleeping we could talk about this much later, please!" I said politely

  "Of course, that's if your girl doesn't call to interrupt my sleep, ok!"

  "Gia whst is wrong wotg you, why you getting wprked up for?" I asked, i was confused abd a bit fatigued already.

  "Go to hell Jordan, keep defending her!"

She jumped on the bed, dragged the white sheets and turned her face to the other side of the room not my face, this is terrible. What if i had cheated? I wondered.
