Najiba still can't believe how her life went from being perfect to what it is today. She has always been the favourite wife of her husband but since she became pregnant, it's almost like her husband does not want to see her face because she reminds him of something bad. After he almost tried to kill her and the issue was tabled before his father, Zahid came back a changed man. Even though her father has advised her not to contact him, she just couldn't help it because her husband and every time that she has tried contact him, he ignores her.
In-public, Najiba pretends to be happy but the truth is she has never been happy since the whole incident. She tried filing for a divorce but Zahid promised her that he will not give her a divorce as he is out to make her life miserable.
Na'ima is using this opportunity to get back at Najiba in every way that she can as she keeps flaunting herself on social media. It seems like Zahid has decided to join hands with Na'ima to ridicule her because she's always posting pictures of she and Zahid traveling and attending different functions.
Some fans are beginning to say that there is trouble in paradise because they've not been seeing Najiba and her husband together and Na'ima's fans are using this opportunity to drag her and fake all sorts of stories about her.
On this particular day, Najiba feels like the world is crashing down on her because she is struggling with morning sickness and heartbreak at the same time and there's no one to talk to about her problems except her mother who keeps talking about how their enemies have finally defeated them. Despite having a mother who seems to care sometimes but at other times behaves like she's out of it, Najiba still decided to call her because she needs someone to talk to before she finally loses it and abort this pregnancy. After everything that has happened, the only thing that has made her decide to carry this pregnancy to term is the fact that she wants to prove to Zahid and everyone involved that she has always been faithful and the baby in her womb belongs to her husband.
Najiba took out her phone and was about to dial her mother's number when she heard the doorbell. She walked towards the door and was surprised when she opened it because the same person that she was about to call is the person standing outside her door. She fell into her mum's arms and began to cry "Mum I've made a mistake. If only I had known, I wouldn't have gotten married to Zahid. Marrying him has been the greatest mistake of my life because I'm very sure that if I were still single and living my life however I please, on my own terms, I won't be in any of the situation that I'm in today. I allowed you to fool me into marrying him and thinking that my life will change for the better. Mum it's all your fault because my life has taken a turn for the worse."
"I came here to cheer you up because I felt that you will be sad but it seems that I have made a mistake by coming because you are here throwing blames at me. When you were enjoying the fame and the money that came from Zahid, why didn't you blame me back then? Because you are experiencing a mild difficulty right now you think that you can throw all your blames at me? If you have proven yourself to be trustworthy in the first place, I don't think that your husband will be doubting that the baby in your womb is his. As a mother, I have tried really hard for you and if you cannot appreciate that, then it's your problem. Perhaps what you're going through right now is just a minor setback because there has been an agreement already and all you need to do is see it through to the end and you will be vindicated. By then, you and your husband can be together again with your status more elevated than ever before."
Despite everything that Najiba's mother was saying, she still blamed her mum because she feels that if her mum had not introduced Zahid to her back then, she wouldn't have married him and ended up with all these troubles. She raised her head and looked at her mum and she said "there is nothing anyone can say to me to make me forgive him for what he has done to me. He has been the community dog and my only offence was loving him more than he loves me." With tears in Najiba's eyes, she laughed dejectedly "you are right mum, I should only blame myself and blame no one else. What was I expecting when I decided to marry a man who has wives already. There were over a thousand men that I could have gotten married to but I chose him instead because of my greed."
Najiba walked towards a green sofa in her living room. This sofa has once been a place where she lives her best life but now, she lies on it everyday to complain and cry. She spent most of her mornings on that sofa, so as usual, she walked towards it and curled up on it as her mum walked towards her and apologized for the way she talked to her a while ago.
Najiba's mother knows that her daughter is just overreacting because of her pregnancy hormones but she didn't want to talk about that because she knows that if she says anything about that, her daughter will deny it and they might end up having an argument. She held unto her daughter and pulled her closer to her as she said in her ears "I will like you to believe in me again because all these will pass. Trust your mother just this once. Even after you give birth, I will always be there for you even if it turns out that the child is not for your husband. I am not doubting your fidelity but I doubt your husband. You never can tell, he might have put something in your drink to make you sleep off and get someone else to have sex with you. Now I don't want you to be afraid because I am only assuming but whatever the outcome is, always remember that your mother will never judge you. One more thing that you need to know is that, I don't care who the father of your child is because I just want a grandchild right now."
Najiba was wondering where her mother got this sense from because she was surprised that her mum did not speak of enemies this time rather she spoke more sensibly. She hugged her mum as more tears poured from her eyes.
Since the day that Zahid met Nadira at the mall, he has not given up on chasing after her. Recently, one of Na'ima's friends decided to drag her along to a birthday and when they got there, the party was so lavish that Na'ima could only imagine how much was spent. Her friend took her to meet the celebrant and she was surprised that it's a young lady like herself. When the lady saw Na'ima, she smiled and said "you must be Zahid's third wife."
"I am surprised you know who I am."
The lady smiled as she said, "if at all you are not popular, your husband is and there is rarely anyone of importance that I don't know in this city."
Na'ima was taking in the whole interior of the place as she promised herself that her next birthday will be more lavish than what Nadira has hosted here and she will make sure that Nadira attends so that she can see that what she has organised here today is nothing.
While Na'ima was busy plotting how she will make Nadira know who is richer when it's time for her birthday, she wasn't prepared for the next surprise that was about to come. As she was taking a selfie, her friend rushed up to her and told her that the person who organised this surprise event for Nadira is around. "Don't tell me that Nadira did not pay for any of these rather it's a surprise from someone."
"Nadira is one of the biggest girls in this city and different men are seeking for her attention so it won't surprise me the length that some of them will go just to get her attention. I even heard rumours that she is considering accepting his advances but he has wives already, so if you really want to see the person, you had better come with me or you can stay behind because I'm leaving."
Na'ima couldn't believe how romantic some men could be. Zahid finances her career and gives her all the luxuries that she wants but to be this romantic, she wonders if he can ever be that. Her friend who was walking way ahead of her ran back towards her and told her that they need to leave now.
Na'ima was surprised at her friend's reactions and told her that she must see the socialite who is interested in Nadira because she might just be lucky to get a connection from there. "I thought that you so badly wanted to meet the person who organised this party, so why do you want to leave now? You had better give up on leaving this party and lets us go up there because you might just get lucky to find a husband today."
Na'ima's friend refused to let her pass as she kept insisting that they must leave now but Na'ima told her friend that she is not ready to leave because she wants to take in every detail of the party so her friend decided to give up as they both walked up and what Na'ima saw next, made her stumble that she almost fell. "What is he doing with her? Why will Zahid attend a party like this? Does he know nadira?"
"This was the reason why I wanted us to leave because I just came to find out that your husband was the one who financed everything here and he is the one who has been trying to get Nadira's attention and it seems he has even promised her that he will divorce one of his wives to marry her." Na'ima couldn't believe what was happening as she felt different emotions course through her. She felt angry, pained, and sad at the same time and it was only now it occurred to her that Nadira was not trying to compliment her rather she was mocking her for being the wife of Zahid who is desperately trying to woo her like a child after a candy.
Just when Na'ima thought that she was going to be his favourite because he has abandoned Najiba, she didn't know that he has other plans and was only using her for the meantime. She felt like crying but knew that at this time crying will make no sense. She wiped off the tear that has ran down her cheek as she stomped her foot and took a step towards them but her friend held her back.
"I will like you to reconsider what you are about to do. There is nobody who is very important to your husband and even you can testify to that. When you first married him, everyone thought you were his favourite until he met that unfortunate Najiba. You saw how he gave her all his attention and ignored you like you were a nobody. I will advise that if you do not want to end up like Najiba, turn a blind eye to what you have just seen and let's go home. I know that it hurts but even you knew the kind of man you wanted to marry before going into the marriage."
