Chapter 35: Andrew's New Plan

She smiled on hearing those Lovely words of mine, and I can tell that she is blushing right now. We got Kelvin's house few minutes later and we both walked to the living room to wait for him 

"How are you doing bro, what a pleasant surprise"- Kelvin called out to us while walking down from the stairs 

"I'm doing great, I just wanted to stop by and see how you are faring. It's quite boring for me to sit at home all day, if not for our trip, I would have gone to my work place and resume my duties, I just need to keep myself busy"- I replied while shaking hands with him

"I understand your plight, sometimes life gets really boring when you sit in one place all day. And even with all the Netflix movies, game consoles and others. It's still boring"- Kelvin replied and took his seat on the sofa next to us

"You truly understand my plight, but sometimes Alexia here keeps me company and we do stuffs together when bored"- I replied

Kelvin signalled one of the maids to get us some drinks and biscuits to make the conversation feel more relaxing and appealing.

"I have great news guys, and i am pretty sure you will be glad by this one"- Kelvin said 

"What news is that. Have you gotten a new girlfriend?"- Alexia cut in

Kelvin smiled for a while before returning to his initial statement

"That's not it. You remember when Andrew brought about the issue of traveling to Atlanta Georgia. I boldly told him I won't be able to accompany him , well guess what?, my mom just gave me the permission to travel to any where with you guys"- Kelvin said 

We all screamed out loud in excitement, and I rushed to give him a hug 

"That's really nice of your mom, at least we are going to travel together. Thereby increasing the fun things we can do, what do you think about this babe?"- I asked Alexia

"Well it's great, can't wait to get ready for the big day"- She replied with a smile on her face 

"But there is another problem on ground and I think it's gonna somehow affect us"- Kelvin said

The joy in our faces vanished immediately he mentioned about a slight problem. What could be the problem that would affect us at this joyous moment?

"I called Andrew yesterday and I was quite sad by what happened to him. He is passing through a lot of pain as we speak and I pray he gets healed before the big journey on Friday"- Kelvin said 

"What happened to him"- Alexia and I asked at once

"Well according to him, the whole issue began when his secretary tried to blackmail him with a rape case. He was in his office when the lady walked up to him and tried to close the door.

He said that she started seducing him with the intention of having an intimate moment with him. But he had to push her away and the lady started threatening him that she would accuse and sue him for rape, unknown to her that they were hidden cameras in the room"- Kelvin replied

We both sat down there with so much shock in our heads, couldn't believe my ears.

I thought Kelvin was just joking at first, never knew it was a real deal 

"How did he manage to escape?, what happened next. Don't leave us in suspense like this"- Alexia asked with curiosity written all over her face 

"He said that when the issue was getting out of control, he had to reveal to her that they were hidden cameras in the room. And when he rushed out to get the video footage of the whole event, the lady held his leg and he fell to the ground with his nose.

He ended up having a broken nose as a result of the fall. I guess he went to the hospital to get it treated"- He revealed

"Oh my God, this is so sad and painful. Why would the lady want to blackmail him. What's his crime"- Alexia asked 

"It's really sad when people try to ridicule your name. Imagine that they were no cameras in the office, who would ever believe it that Andrew was innocent?"- i asked 

"I guess God wanted to save him all along because she would have ran out of the office naked to make people believe that Andrew actually tried to rape her"- Kelvin replied

"Don't you think we should pay him a surprise visit and see how things are going. I guess he needs that right now"- Alexia suggested

"That's not a bad idea though, at least let's talk with him and see if he would be fit enough to embark on the journey with us"- I said

"Alright then, let me get dressed and let's move. We will take your car and you will bring me back home later"- Kelvin replied and stood up from the sofa where he sat, went straight to his room.

I and Alexia stared at each other for a while, she was quite surprised to hear what happened to Andrew. Guess she has suddenly grown some kind of likeness for him. 

 The first day thy met each other, they didn't seem to flow along well. But I think it would be nice for them to met again since we are all going to be traveling together.

Kelvin came out later after spending close to five minutes in his room, we all went straight to my car and drove out with full speed, heading towards Andrew's residence.

  We arrived at his house quite early and Kelvin came down from the car to speak with the gate man. They talked to a while and he later signalled for us to drive inside, guess Andrew was at home.

Later on, a guy dressed in a black suit came out to show us our way inside the house 

"Follow me ladies and gentlemen, let me take you to master Andrew. Guess he might be expecting you all" the man said

"We didn't tell him we are coming, so how is he expecting us?"- Alexia asked 

"Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was only guessing"- The man replied

We walked to the living room and the guy told us to sit down while he calls his master. We waited for a while and Alexia screamed when she saw Andrew walking down to us with a bandage on his nose 

"Oh my God, I can't believe this is real"- Alexia exclaimed, 

Andrew smiled like someone who came back from a comedy show, he didn't even act like someone who was in pain at all 

"We decided to pay you a surprise visit and also keep you company because I know you won't be able to go out with this kind of injury on your nose"- Kelvin replied while leaning forward to give Andrew a hug 

I stood there in total shock when Andrew came close to me and gave me a hug too 

"I am so happy to see you guys here, I have been in my room all day trying to sleep and forget about my worries. Now that you all are here, I guess my troubles are gone for a while"- Andrew replied with a smile 

we all sat down on the sofa to talk more but Andrew signalled us to get up immediately

"Guys I think we should all go to my room, there is something I would like to share with your guys over there. My parents are around and I don't want the information to get into their hands or else our trip would be ruined"- Andrew whispered into our ears

we all remained quiet and followed him like lost sheep's till we go to his room. It was quite cool in his room and I was surprised when he locked the door after we all entered.

 The room was very cold and I had to beg him to turn off the AC for a while before we could discuss anything.

"So what do you want to tell us. I hope you are not planning to cancel this trip, I have already planned everything and how it is going to look like when we get there. So your secret has to be a good one"- Alexia said jokingly

Andrew smiled at her, they seem to be moving along quite well if I must say and I am happy about that though.

"Yesterday my dad came home to inform me about what I told you guys at the restaurant the other day. He wants to me to travel to Nigeria next week Friday and from the look of things, he is going to monitor my movement till that very day.

He has suspicions that I would try to run away from home, never to return. So leaving this house on Monday would be very difficult because they would easily detect that I want to go somewhere or they might even follow me secretly."- Andrew replied

we all paused for a moment when we heard a knock on the door 

"Who's it please?"- Andrew asked and stood up from his bed to get the door.

"Sir I brought some drinks to entertain your guest"- The lady called out to him 

"Thank you so much Sarah"- Andrew replied while taking the tray of drinks from her hands 

And we all stretched our hands to get a bottle of our preferred drink. Andrew quickly locked the door immediately the lady left and he came back to sit down on the soft bed 

"So what's your plan then. How are you going to escape without them noticing"- Kelvin asked 

"That's not going to be hard, we will all leave for Church tomorrow, so when that happens I will sneak away with an excuse and I will come straight to your house"- Andrew replied directing his reply to me 

"What about your luggage, how are you going to sneak out with your luggage?"- I asked 

"That won't be a problem at all. I have already packed my things, so you will take some with you, so when I come tomorrow, my things will be set.

First of all, you will need to go to the garage, I hid my two luggage there, so you will take the two and drive home with it Micheal"- Andrew replied

We were all amazed by his smart plan, it seems he already cooked this up waiting for the right time to blow it up 

"But come to think of it, why does your parents always try to restrict your movements and subject you to accept their own decision for your life?"- Alexia asked 

Andrew paused for a minute, he was obviously lost in thoughts. I can literally understand his plight, never knew his dad could be this inconsiderate

"I have no idea why they are doing this to me. My mom is quite understanding, but my dad is as strong as a rock. He doesn't listen to anyone other than himself. Once we get to Atlanta Georgia, I will block their lines so that they can't call or track my location"- Andrew replied

He is indeed a good player and he knows how to arrange his things in such a way that it would difficult for an outsider to understand.

 I sipped my drink for a while before dropping my comment on the whole issue.

"This plan sounds good, but are you going to travel with this bandage on your nose?"- I asked 

"It's already healing up. I still put on the bandage so that my dad will think that I am still in pain. By so doing, he won't pay much attention to my movements because he knows I can't go anywhere with this bandage"- Andrew replied

Damn this guy is really smart and I like the way he answers every question with good explanations 

"Then we are all set. We will have to stay here till when it's dark, so that the security guard won't notice that we are trying to carry any luggage"- Alexia said 

"You are right dear, we have to carry those luggage when it's dark so that nobody can easily see us. Then we zoom off"- Kelvin replied 

"I love you guys for this. I am so happy that you guys are with me on this plan, cheers to you all"- Andrew replied while raising his bottle for a toast

we all made a toast and drank till we became tired. so we decided to play some video games for a while till it was late in the evening

"Now is the time to carry out our plan. Hope you guys are ready for his?"- Andrew asked once more 

"We are ready and set for this bro, let's move down and bring this plan to action"- Kelvin replied while opening the door 

The four of us walked to the living room where Andrew's dad was seated 

"Good evening sir"- The three of us greeted 

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it's so nice of you to pay Andrew a visit, hope he told you guys that he won't be staying here for long?"- His father asked 

We all looked at each other with surprise, and this question further confirmed it that his father was indeed very serious about the whole issue.

"Well he told us that he wants to relocate to Nigeria to start up a new job in your company"- Kelvin replied

His father smiled with joy, not knowing that we had other plans in mind 

"That's nice of him. I am really sorry he has to leave this way, but he has to put business first before any other thing in life. Because that's where the money comes from"- His father replied

"So business should come before friendship and family?"- Alexia asked with anger in her eyes 

I looked into her eyes after that question and I could vividly see that she was mad with anger and she won't waste a second to take him out if he had the chance

"Yes my dear, life is worthless without money. Imagine if your parents had no cash, would you all be living this luxury life and driving all the expensive cars you guys own?. That's to tell you that money brings unimaginable joy, Andrew may not understand this until he becomes older"- He replied and smiled 

Andrew stood there watching his father as tears flowed from his eyes, I could imagine the pain he is currently passing through.

The pain of leaving your friends and everything you stand for. I can't imagine what life would be for him over there?

"It's okay everyone, like I said. I would always keep in touch with you guys through Facebook, what's app and other social media apps. I may not be able to hang out with you in person, but we will always see each other on the internet"- Andrew said, winking at us 

"That's the spirit son, I knew you will come to your senses at some point. I am so glad you now think things through"- His father replied and laughed out loud
