"That's rude and with that action of hers, it would be very clear to say that she didn't really love you the way you loved her.
If the love was genuine, she would have walked up to you to sort things out and apologize for her actions"- Alexia called to Micheal
"She's just too proud and I didn't really notice it till we eventually broke up, I don't know why she's proud?"- Micheal replied
"Maybe it's because her father is a military general. I'm sure her expenses is being sponsored by her father"- I cut in
The discussion lasted for a while till my phone rang, it was my mother who was calling
"Sorry guys, I have to take this call. Just carry on with the game, you all will fill me with the details later"- I replied while walking straight to my room to take the call
"No problem Mama's boy"- Kelvin teased
I walked straight to my room and closed the door
"Good afternoon mom, how's everything going back there?"- I asked after picking up the call
"It's alright over here. How's your vacation coming along, hope you are enjoying every bit of if?"- She asked
"It's going well, we are currently playing a game and I can swear that I'm enjoying every moment of it"- I replied with a smile emoji
"That's great. Wish I had this opportunity to go on vacation with my friends when I was your age"- She replied
"What do you mean?"- I asked, looking a bit confused
"When I was your age, I barely leave the house because my parents were quite strict and disciplined. I spent most of my time reading and sleeping all day till I eventually went to college.
And even when I was in college, they still monitored my every movements through the help of my lecturers, you should be grateful for the opportunity you have right now to hang out and go on vacation like a grown man"- She replied
I see no reason why a teenager should be locked indoors like a six year old kid, every teenager deserves the right to roam freely go anywhere they want. But I'm still grateful nevertheless, because there are some teenagers who are currently this kind of issue.
So I guess it's now a common thing for most people can barely step an inch outside their father's or mother's house
"Hmmm, so I guess I should be grateful after all. So what's going on with dad, how is everything going for him?"- I asked
"Your dad has really changed these past few days, you won't believe that we discussed a lot last night. It was so lovely and romantic, seems your father has changed for the better"- My mom replied
"How did he change, hope he is not trying to get any information from you?"- I asked, looking so uncomfortable with the fact that she's now flowing with my dad
"I have told you about this already, he has changed and he now talks about love and every other things that couples do.
Well, I will tell you all of that when you get back home, can't really talk that much on phone"- She replied and hung up almost immediately
I went back to meet my crew in the living room and it seems that they are already having so much fun already so I joined in so that we could continue our little game
Andrew's Mother POV
I can't believe that my husband has changed drastically, it now looks as if nothing ever went wrong between us. How now cuddles me every night and tell me some sweet stories while on bed. It's really amazing, I must confess
"How are you doing my darling, I'm currently heading out to see my executives in the office. We have a board meeting few hours from now"- My husband called out to me after taking his bath
"That's not a problem then, have a good day at the office"- I replied with a smile on my face
We both hugged each other and he gave me a romantic kiss before leaving the room, and now it seems I would be at home all alone.
Oh, I just remembered that I also have an appointment with my friends, need to hang out with my fellow women for a while, so I picked up my phone and dialed Kate's number
Kate has been one of my close friends back in college and it so happens that nothing could separate us because we have come a long way together, she's actually married with four beautiful kids and her husband works as a banker.
She often talks about how her husband always neglects her because of his busy job and now she is seriously looking for ways to rekindle their love, guess we will discuss that when I see her
"What's up girl"- I said immediately she picked up the call
"Hey, Mariam. I'm doing great, what about you"- She asked
"Everything is going well over here, hope you are ready to hang out with us at the Big Daddy's restaurant?"- I asked
"Yeah, for sure. I will be there soon, just need to finish up with the kids"- She replied
"Are you bringing the kids along with you?"- I asked
"Not at all, their eldest sister would be able to take care of them while I'm away, so I don't have any thing to worry about"- She replied
"Alright then, let get dressed and meet you guys at the restaurant in a few minutes"- I replied and hang up the phone
I rushed down to the bathroom to freshen up, it seems this has become a habit for me. Because I often freshen up before heading to any place, I had my bath this morning but it seems I need to freshen up again so that my body would look fresh
I didn't even bother to take my lunch, so I told the maid to keep the food till the evening period. I will eat well when I get to the restaurant
I drove out from the compound with full speed and typed my address in on the GPS Screen so that I don't miss up my direction. I mashed the accelerator with full force and I never knew a police was just beside the traffic light
And just when I thought I had escaped him, I heard a loud siren from his car which indicated that I pull over. It has been long since I last got into trouble with the cops and I don't look forward to that either, but it seems that I'm quite unlucky today
I pulled over and wind down my glass, the Police man came down from his car. His facial appearance was quite lovely, especially his pink lips and dimples
He's just too cute to actually be a police officer but anyways, let me see what he is going to say
"Good day madam, may I see your drivers license"- He asked softly
I opened the placed where all my licenses are kept and I handed it over to him, I'm getting nervous at this point. What he's going to say after all this, disobeying traffic orders warrants a fine or two weeks in jail
"Alright, please I would like to know why you disobeyed the traffic orders on your way?"- He asked
"Well, I'm rushing to a meeting, so I decided to increase my speed a little. I clearly forgot that there was a traffic light up head of me"- I replied
"You drove past the traffic light even when it showed red, indicating that you should stop. What if you had an accident with an incoming vehicle from the other direction?"- He asked, looking a bit serious this time
"I'm really sorry officer, but like I said before, I clearly forgot about the traffic light up head"- I replied, trying to use my sweet voice to calm him down
"Your actions leaves me no choice but to write you a ticket and also issue you a warning"- He replied and brought out his paper to write me a ticket
My fine won't cost more than a hundred dollars, so that's nothing to me
"Here's your ticket, make sure to pay your fine or else we will come to your address and probably arrest you"- He replied after handing me the ticket along with my drivers license
I felt quite relieved when he walked out to his car, the fine was just a hundred and fifty dollar. I would make a transfer to to the bank later and just at that moment, my phone rang
Kate was the one calling, maybe she's already at the restaurant
"Where are you Mariam?"- She asked immediately I picked up the call
"I'm on my way, I was pulled over by the cops for disobeying the traffic light"- I replied
"Oh no, hope it wasn't serious?"- She asked
"Nah, he only issued me a warning and a ticket alongside with a fine of $150. That's not a big deal, are you there at the restaurant?"- I asked
"Yes of course, I got here few minutes ago and we all are waiting for you. Hope you know we don't have much time, some of us have to attend to our kids and husband
So we just have to maximize the little time have and enjoy ourselves to the fullest"- She replied
"Don't worry, I'm on my way now. I will be there in a couple of minutes"- I replied and switched on my car
This time I maintained a good speed rate, don't want to get pulled over for the second time and for some reason, it seems that there are so many police officers who are fixed at various points on each streets.
Most of them were not here few weeks back, maybe they went on leave or something. I later arrived at the restaurant few minutes later and they all called out to me immediately they sighted me through the glass window
"What's up ladies, how is everything going with you guys"- I asked, while taking my seat on the soft chair that they reserved for me
"We have been waiting for you, what took you so long to get here?"- Ruth asked
"I was pulled over by the police few minutes ago and he gave me a fine of $150 for disobeying the traffic light. I actually forgot that there was a traffic light at that particular point, so I drove past it with full speed"- I replied
"That's kinda serious, but I'm glad everything is okay. And this situation of yours reminds me of how I nearly knock down a boy who was riding his bicycle on the way.
I was actually late for work that day, so I had to speed up a bit because I don't want to get into trouble with my boss, at first I maintained a constant speed without disobeying any traffic rules until this boy came from no where and landed straight at my front
If not that my brakes were good, I would have crushed that boy to death. Seems he doesn't know how to properly ride a bicycle"- Ruth replied
"I don't understand why some people would want to ride a bicycle on a busy road when they can't properly handle it without falling"- I replied
"He was trying to perform a skill, but it seems luck ran out on him and he landed straight at my own direction.
But that's by the way, how's your son Mariam. Heard he went missing few days ago"- Ruth asked
The rest of them remained quiet, they were so eager to hear what I have to say about Andrew's disappearance. But I was quite surprised how they even got hold of this information
"He's not missing. He went on a vacation with his close friends, he wanted some time alone with his friends.
So he sneaked out behind our backs and traveled out of the city without our permission"- I replied
"That's not good at all. Where are his manners?"- Jasmine asked
