We kept discussing for hours before he eventually left me alone so that i could rest because I'm still under intense injections now, "i will have to go home now sir so that i can change my clothes and get back here" he said, i want to give him the keys to my room so that he can also bring me some new clothes but I don't know if I can trust him because i have some dollars in my room, i planned on changing them to naira before this tragic incident but seems i will have to out him to the test. "These are keys to my bed room, just open it and bring me some new clothes when you are coming back" i said and he simply nodded. I checked the time after he left, it's 5PM and my aunt wedding is just some hours away but how will i attend the wedding like this?.

  I touched the bell besides and a nurse came inside my room after she heard me ring the bell gently, "when will I be discharged from here?" i inquired, "i don't really know, let me call the doctor for you" she said and left the room only to walk in with the doctor by her side few minutes later, "Good evening sir, how are you feeling today?" he asked, "I'm good but my body is in serious pain right now and i don't know how long will i remain here?" I asked

"You will have to stay for extra two days so that will can properly treat those wounds, can't walk around like that because they might get infected and that would lead to another severe case" he said but my mind quickly flashed to the bills, they haven't brought my bills yet and i surely know that no Nigerian hospital would treat a patient without cash or initial deposit, "doctor what of my bill?" i asked looking a bit worried. "You don't need to worry about that, the man who brought you here as already taken care of that" he said 

   I was taken aback by his reply, i don't remember giving my gateman any money in cash so that i don't see how he would be able to pay the bills, "please can you explain better because I'm lost here" i said. "When he rushed you down, we demanded an initial deposit of three hundred thousand before attending to you because your case was an emergency and he paid transferred the sun of five hundred thousand naira to the bank account linked to this hospital, he said we should use the rest to properly care and attend to you" he said.

Tears almost flowed from eyes but i held them back so that they start asking me any questions, i have never for once believed that he was actually this kind, that money he transferred is probably from his salary and i will increase his salary by a hundred percent because of this kind gesture of his, "Alright doctor, let me rest" i said and they walked out of the room immediately but i do feel bad that i will have to miss my aunt's wedding, she would be devastated to see that i won't show up tomorrow, she came to my house to specially tell about because of our closeness to each other.

    I just pray she finds a place in her heart to forgive me, i quickly said a prayer and shut my eyes immediately. I woke up the next day feeling a little bit energized and the nurses brought a cup of tea and some sliced bread for me as breakfast, i ate everything without delay and thanked them for their kind gesture but it's my money that's working for me here. My gateman walked into the room looking so clean and smart in his red shirt and black joggers alongside his black sneakers, i have never seen him in other clothes before because he keeps wearing his duty clothes everyday 

"How are you feeling sir? he asked with a smile on his face he brought some chilled ice cream from a neat package nylon, "in doing good my man and what do we have here" i said, pointing at the nylon bag. "I bought you some ice cream and fresh meat pie so that you could at least eat something good here" he said, I smiled at him and he laughed.

   "And i also brought your clothes, they are in this bag so we should be leaving in a few hours if everything goes well" he said and this immediately changed my mood, "is anything wrong sir?" he asked, trying to see if he said anything wrong. "The doctor said i will have to stay here an extra two days so that my body will heal very well" i said with a frown, "don't feel sad about it sir, at least it's far more better than be dead, if i hadn't rushed you here when i did, you would have died so the doctors know best" he said 

"Yes but it will make me miss an important event that ought to bring me closer with my extended relationship" i said, "I'm sure they will understand what happened if you explain it to them, your wife is more important than any party because a dead man does not attend party neither does he care about relationships" he said. He brought the ice cream and meat pie before me and i ate it with joy as he kept staring at me while until i was done, "I heard you deposited five hundred thousand naira for the hospital bills, thank you so much and i will surprise you for this kind gestures you have been showing to me lately" I said 

   "You don't need to worry about paying me back, it's nothing, the salary you pay me every month will cover for it and i should even be the one thanking you because ever since i started working as your gateman, i have been able to provide for my parents and close relatives" he said. I smiled and laid back on the bed while staring at the ceiling, "you are welcome then" i managed to say 

Two days later...

It was finally time for me to head back home and resume my duties and carry on with my life, my aunt has been calling for the past few hours but i was too scared to pick up her call so i simply left it to ring all day long, she is obviously mad at me for not attending her wedding and i know how she is feeling right now but she has no idea what i have been through the past few days, my gateman packed my car outside while i settled the other bills regarding my treatment and drugs but my phone started ringing again and it's my aunt who is calling, she doesn't give up at all.

   I walked to my car and he opened the door for me while i sat at the back, we drove straight home and when i went inside, i was expecting to see blood stains on the couch and on the floor because i didn't clean that up before leaving but i was shocked beyond words when i met everywhere looking so clean and fresh, "what happened?" i asked as he helped pack my things inside, "oh i figured out that i should clean those blood stains so that they don't stick to the floor and the couch because it costs a lot to acquire those rare couch" he said

There is definitely no word to describe this kind of lovely act from him so I simply hugged him but he was kinda surprised because he wasn't expecting that from me at all. "Thank you so much and i promise to surprise you for this, just give me a quick moment" i said and walked straight to my room to check if everything was still intact, Jessica didn't touch any of the dollar notes i kept on my bed head and drawer but why would she even take it when she scammed me of twenty five million dollars.

  She has probably left the country and she won't be coming back, i quickly took my bath and changed my clothes, the pain kept hitting my hard like but I just have to bath myself and i will be mindful of the bandages. My gateman helped me prepare some fried egg and he brought it to me in the room, "thank you so much bro, you are more than a blessing to me right now" i said with a smile on my face, he simply smiled and walked away slowly, but he came back in few minutes later to report that my aunt and her husband is at the gate 

I was so surprised to hear him say those words because I'm not expecting them at all and i know she won't be happy to see me right now, i just hope she finds it in her heart to forgive me for not attending her wedding. They drove in and i went to the living room immediately while peeping through the little hole in my door but i eventually opened and the look on her face expressed nothing but anger, "so what do you have to say now?, i was expecting to see you but you didn't show up" she barked.

   "Aunt I'm really sorry for not attending your wedding, i know I fucked ho real bad but please forgive me. Something came up and it left me in this condition" i pleaded, they both of them walked in and sat on the couch, "wait, Andrew what happened to you?" she asked after she noticed the bandages on my body and my head, she didn't notice at first because she was filled with anger but now she has calmed down. "Aunt Stella, it's a long story but I'm happy that I'm still alive till this very day and I have my gate man to thank for that" I said 

The both of them stared at me with surprise when they finally came to their senses, "please what happened to you, did you end up in a motor accident?" Mr Stanley asked, "please don't start bothering yourself about me, congratulations on your wedding, you both are now husband and wife, I'm so happy for the both of you right now" I replied. They looked at me not knowing what to say, they were very much interested in what happened to me which led to all these bandages and injuries.

  "Thank you dear but please tell us what happened, you don't want to tell us or are you hiding something?" she asked. "it's a long story and I'm afraid to say that I fell victim to the devil himself, have you observed that Jessica is not around?" I asked, they both looked around to confirm what i said. "Yes, that's true, where is the pretty girl, you both would make a perfect couple someday" my aunt replied with a smile 

I simply smiled at her after she said that word, I'm pretty sure she would start laying curses on her once i eventually tell her everything that happened two days back, "Aunt Stella, please don't ever call that devil's incananate my girlfriend again and we would never get married to each other, even the devil can't make that happen" i replied looking a big angry. "what happened, did she break up with you?" she asked.

  "Alright first of all i will tell you how we met each other and i would end everything with the exact issue that led to the injuries on my body. I actually met that girl during my house party and my friend was the one who invited her here, not knowing that the both of them were working together, we had a fun time with each other and she eventually gave me her number and insisted that we go on a date the following day.

  To cut the story short, we started dating each other few days ago and just when i thought i have found a wife, she showed me her true color, you won't believe that girl was actually sent to kill me" i revealed, my aunt opened her mouth but no words came out, she was too shocked by what she heard but her husband didn't seem surprised by all this as he kept staring at me without saying anything. "who sent her to kill you, was she the one who inflicted all these injuries on your body?" my aunt asked looking so worried 

"Actually before Andrew can finish that story, i would like to say something that I should have said a long time ago and i plead with you to forgive me sweetheart" Mr Stanley said, directing his attention to my aunt, "you can go on baby, i won't be mad at you and i will only assume that you probably forgot to tell me about it over the years" she said.

  "Well, speaking about Andrew's ex-girlfriend, i actually made love to that girl few years ago even before I met you, she was a big time prostitute and her name rang bells in the ears of men until it died down. Seeing her with Andrew made me feel sad because i know that she is up to no good, i tried to warn Andrew about her and i even went as far as showing him a video of us together but he thought she has changed.

That girl is not just a prostitute, i have heard rumors that she is a skilled killer but i didn't really see any fact to back that rumor" he said, my aunt rested my back on the couch, she was just completely overwhelmed and i could see it in her eyes.

  "Wow, can't believe all these things actually happened under my very nose and i was here busy praising and praying for her to get married to my nephew, not knowing that she was a devil in human's clothing, but did she actually beat you up?" my aunt asked. "She was sent by an unknown company who according to her were angry by the rate at which y father's gaming company kept thriving amongst others, they set her to dupe me and she was able to successfully achieve her goal as she duped me of twnety five million dollars" i said 

My aunt screamed out loud when she heard the amount, she opened her eyes wide and her husband was equally shocked, "why didn't you call the police, this story isn't clear, how can she just dupe you just like that, all by herself" my aunt asked looking a bit confused. "She held me at gun point, she had a pistol gun with her all these while and i never knew, she said she wanted to carry out the mission in the night but being that i questioned her after Mr Stanley told me who she was, she decided to just use that opportunity to dupe me and show me her real colors
