I slept for a few hours hoping that everything would be okay but waking up now feels like my troubles have come back to life, then I remembered I have to talk to my aunt about my decision to leave her house and stay on my own, the time is 9PM already and I'm pretty sure she will head to bed in few minutes time so that she can get up early tomorrow morning, she tries her best to prepare food for everyone before leaving the house but if she has important things to do, then everyone will have to prepare their own food. I walked downstairs to meet her in the living room and I met her praying, I sat down on one of the couch and I watched her pray for fifteen minutes before she finally opened her eyes, "how long have you been there?" she asked looking a bit shocked, "long enough to know that you are a good prayer warrior" I teased, she laughed for a while but I sure know that what I'm about to tell her would change her mood for good and I don't even know how to start.
"Aunt Stella, I really want us to discuss something very important and I don't how you will feel about it though" I said while she stared at me, "you can say anything you want dear, I won't feel anything, I'm always here to listen and offer the best advice to you" she replied with a smile, her eyes were wide open even when she ought to be sleeping by this time because she is well known to sleep on time due to her busy schedule in the morning. "I would like to move out and live on my own" I said, she looked at me with shock and she kept on cleaning her eyes to see if she was actually dreaming or something, "I don't understand, what happened and why do you want to live on your own, did my fiance do anything wrong to you, have I annoyed you in any way?" she kept on throwing different questions at me without even giving me a chance to answer some of them, she was completely confused and I can see it on her face
"Aunt Stella, you have been of great help to me and I know you have a kind heart and mind you, I'm not leaving because you did anything wrong, I just want to have a taste of the real world and I can't do that when I keep living under your roof" I replied, she got up from her position and sat besides me, "I still don't get you Andrew, are you living in a fake world?" she asked. I knew this was not going to be easy at all but I just have to explain it to her so that she will understand, "you keep doing everything for me, you clean the house or hire some workers to do it for you and besides I can't living with you when I'm off age to have my own family and living in my own house" I replied looking so serious with my request.
She laid back on the couch with her hands on her head like someone who heard a very bad news today, "Do you have an idea what it means to live alone, you think it's a child's play right?" she asked, "no I don't have any idea what it means to live alone and that is why I would like to leave your house and experience all these myself so that I can be proud to say that I'm a real man" I said. "just tell me you are joking about all these idea of yours and I would simply laugh over it, you are joking right?" she asked with a smile, "I'm not joking here, I'm dead serious right now" I replied with a serious look which proves that I am not joking neither does the issue look funny
"who suggested this idea to you, because I know you can't just wake up one day and start saying you want to live alone, someone is sponsoring this sudden decision of yours" she replied, "okay fine, let me explain everything to you in the language you will understand. My father asked me to look for a woman that I will eventually spend the rest of my life with, I agreed to this based on the fact that he is at the verge of death, I will only be able to carry out this request if i amend some important things in my life.
First of all, I need to start living alone if I want to go into any relationship with a girl because no girl will like it when I tell her to come over only for her to find out that I'm living with my aunt, it makes no sense at all and she won't even take me seriously" I revealed, she remained silent whil rubbing her jaw with her fingers, "perhaps you are right, most ladies might see you as a weakling when they find out that you are living with me" she said
"And above all, I need to give you and your fiance some privacy, I can't be bringing a girl home when you guys are doing some romantic stuff with each other, it would look creepy" I replied, "yes it would, but have you seen a good place to rent or you want to buy a house?" she asked. "i would prefer buying a house, at least I'm rich enough to afford any house in this city and if the money in my Nigerian bank account is not enough, I would simply withdraw from my dollar bank account and convert it to naira" I replied with a smile.
"That's my boy, alright tomorrow afternoon, i would link you up with my estate manager if he can look for some nice houses in Lekki" she replied, i felt so happy to hear those words, finally she has agreed for me to live on my own and I'm gradually turning into the man of my dreams. This is a good news to my ears and i sure hope more good things like this would come, "Thank you so much, I think I should allow you get some sleep because you have a busy day tomorrow" I replied and gave her a warm hug before going to my room
I jumped on my bed like a little baby because I was so full of joy, can't wait to start bringing different girls to my house, it would be a fun galore and I'm going to enjoy myself pretty well but let see what tomorrow holds for me....
Waking up the next day, I quickly rushed to the kitchen only to find out that my aunt has prepared fried rice and chicken with some fresh salad, I quickly ate to my satisfaction so that I will have enough power for the day's work, "Good morning aunt Stella, hope you slept well?" I asked with a broad smile, "yes of course, you look so happy today or did you win a lottery?" she asked after noticing my mood. "Our discussion last night is the main reason why I look so happy today, I can't wait to start moving into my new apartment" I replied in a joyous manner, "hold it right there happy boy, we need to first observe the mansion to see if there is any error if not you will end up spending extra cash to fix any defect in the house" she replied
"That won't be a problem at all and I would leave all those stuffs for you to handle but I just want everything to be ready before this week runs out" I replied with a smile while I dashed to the bathroom to bath myself and on getting to my room, my phone rang, Micheal was the one calling. "How are you doing bro, what a surprise call" I replied with shock because I wasn't really expecting him to call me this morning.
"I just felt like hearing your deep voice this morning, I do miss you a lot bro and I sometimes wish if I can pay you a visit in Nigeria" he replied, I felt happy to know that he misses me a lot but coming to see me here doesn't sound like a good idea for now, "I miss you too but I don't think this is the right time for you to see me" I said. "why or you don't want me to see your new girlfriend?" he asked jokingly. "how would you feel if I tell you that I don't even have any girlfriend, I'm still working on having one soon but for now I'm still single, how is your wife doing?" I asked hoping that he would give her the phone so that I can talk to her
"She is doing great, she even left the house few minutes ago, Lucy has to go to the clinic, she doesn't feel too good" he replied, the name Lucy started ringing bells in my ears and I remembered how I carried her in my arms that day, she is indeed very beautiful and I pray my future wife gives birth to a child like that. "Alright then, greet her for me when she gets back home" I replied. "Alright I have to attend a zoom meeting now, maybe we will talk later" he replied and ended the call
I later finished up from the bathroom and after wearing some nice clothes, I picked up my phone to give Obi the latest update because I promised to tell him everything that is happening so I have to fulfil that promise. "Andrew my man, what goes on?" he asked after picking up the call, "everything is okay fine and I have great news for you bro" I replied while smiling hard, "what is it bro?" he asked looking somehow curious to know what I have in stock for him
"My aunt has finally seen some reasons why I need to move out of her house and live alone and she even offered to link me up with her agent so that I can get a good mansion in Lekki, isn't this great?" I asked with joy, "yes it is, I'm so happy for you and mind, we are going to celebrate your new house with a little house party, I would invite some girls and strippers over" he replied.
"Oh, I would love to has some strippers in the party, I will alert you once I have completed payments for the mansion, can't wait to live like a king" I said. "Long live the kind" he screamed out loud and this gave me great joy, I never regretted having Obi as a friend and I look forward to more good times together, "Alright then, catch you later" I replied and ended the call
The afternoon that I have been dreaming about has finally arrived and the time is exactly 1:00PM at the dot, but my aunt is nowhere to he found, she promised to come back early to pick me up later in the afternoon so that we can head over to the estate manager's house. "Andrew hope you are ready?" a voice called out to me from the garage and when I went out to see who it was, I found my aunt standing in front of her car, I don't even know how she drove inside the house without me hearing any sound but her car is quite silent though, "Why aren't you dressed up or do you want to leave like this" she called out to me, "I think I'm okay like this, you know the whether here is hot so I don't want to dress so elegantly and start sweating like someone placed in an oven" I replied.
"Alright, get in the car let's bounce" she replied, I find her last statement very funny because she is not used to all these kind of words, we drove out of the house and she passed a different route that I never knew existed but at last, we finally got to the manager's house after spending roughly one hour on the way. The manager's house is also attractive too, the colourful designs on the walls adds up to the beautiful sculpture in the center of his house. "This is the place and i pray that he is at home" she said
"Why didn't you inform him that we would be coming today?" I asked looking quite confused when she prayed for the guy to be at home, "I did inform him that I would pay him a visit this afternoon and he said okay but I know this man too well, he can leave his house at any given moment if someone calls him for an urgent meeting" she replied. We walked down to his living room and one muscular guy stood before us, perhaps he is the body guard to the manager.
"My boss will be with you shortly" the guy called out to the both of us as we sat down like two little children, one of the other guy brought us two glass cups alongside one pure heaven wine. I watched my aunt as she popped it open and poured it's content into the two cups, "here you go" she said and handed me one cup. "Mrs Stella, what a pleasant surprise, I didn't believe it when you called me that you will show up this afternoon" a black handsome man called out to us, he was wearing a white suit and this made me wonder a bit
Although he was also wearing a palm sandals which revealed that he didn't go anywhere today, "why would you doubt my visit, you know I only come when I have important things to discuss and the issue that brought me here is quite delicious" my aunt replied with a smile. "Oh that's lovely and who do we have here" he replied while turning his attention over to me, "this is my nephew, he relocated to Nigeria based on some important business deals, Andrew meet Mr Josiah, he is the estate manager I told you about yesterday" he said
"It's a pleasure meeting you sir" I said as I stood up to shake hands with him, "The pleasure is mine, please make yourself comfortable" he replied. "So back to business, my nephew here wants to purchase a nice house for himself and the only person that came to my mind is you because you are well known once it comes to real estate" my aunt said, Mr Josiah smiled for a while before he finally opened his mouth to say something
"Well, I guess that is why people call me the estate guru and I have been in this business for more than seven years, I buy and sell different estates across this country and I'm well known in Nigeria" he replied while crossing his leg like a fried chicken
