Zain had found out that there was more to Susan and both had clicked, forgetting why he was there at the first place.
Jenny did not see anything wrong with him hanging out with her sister until the night he served her breakfast. He had bluntly told her that it's over between them simply because she is skinny.
Susan did not know any of these. She thought he was free for a catch and she had caught him.
At first,Zain was not serious but after several months, he decided to make her his wife, blocking every advice from his friends.
What could Jenny do? But let it be. Her mom wouldn't hear she has had a boyfriend so she can't even fight if she wanted to.
"Zain loves me so much, what came over me?"
Susan hissed and tossed herself on the bed, being mindful of her stomach. She would not want to add more pain to what she is feeling already.
"If only I had listen to Vivian, I wouldn't be in this mess right now"
There are one thousand and ten reasons she should blame herself for doing what she did.
And speaking of an Angel, her phone rang. She wanted to ignore it but it's constant rings made her pick it.
She did not know that it was Vivian until her voice came at the other end of the call.
"Vivy"
Susan murmured tiredly with a sigh escaping from her mouth. Vivian could tell the mood her friend is in by tht way she sighed and wished she is right there with her to cheer her up.
"What's making the new mom sighed like that huh?"
Vivian asked playfully, obviously trying to cheer Susan up.
"Nothing Vivy, I am just tired. Waking up to see Zain gone is messing up with my mood."
She paused and took in some breath,
"I wish I never che…"
Susan swallowed her word after she realized that she is not the only one in the room. Vivian kind of understood her and sighed too.
"You know what I believe, life comes at us at some point in our life, some times, we are the one inviting it, some times, it invites itself. We all have the ability to look life in the face and screw it. Like I always say, no one is without a sin so my dear take it easy with yourself"
"Vivy, it's so hard. I practically brought this misery upon myself. Imagine how miserable I feel when he has not yet known, what happens when the truth is out?"
Susan said, not realizing she is saying too much. Grace paused and listened.
"Is she and Mr Zidat having issues"
Grace wondered,
"Could it be why he has been acting strange. I know hin to be a man who is in love with his wife, what could the wife have done that would make him give no shit about her."
She looked at Susan's direction,
"I smelt it right when I came in and saw him lying on the couch. I hope they sort themselves out soon because this pretty Angel here deserve all the love in this word"
She sighed and took her attention back to Claire, who was done with her milk and was sleeping already.
"Good girl"
"I know right. For now, let's just be hopeful. I know he will find out and you have to be prepared to make him understand that you have learned your lessons."
"Vivian consoled her over the phone.
I am going to be with you all the steps of the way "
That statement from Vivian brought a genuine smile to Susan's face, for the first time since she woke up, she had hopes of getting away from her mess.
One thing is to have friends, another is to have the friends who would stick with you through thick and thin, who would tell you to your face what you are doing is good or not and when your bad cast, they would still be there to bear it with you. That's true friends.
None of her other friends had called since yesterday. Vivian had practically called them but they bashed Vivian telling her to tell Susan to deal with her mess. Such friends are not meant to keep. Now Susan has known better.
"What could I have done without you?"
Vivian giggled,
"Absolutely nothing, girlfriend, how is my daughter?"
Susan looked at Grace and saw she was rocking Claire in her arms.
"She just had her milk and she is sleeping. I am beginning to think she is not here to stress me"
"That's good for you. You have enough stress already and baby girl doesn't want to add to it because she loves mummy."
"Thanks Vivian"
Susan said appreciatively.
"You are welcome mama, I will see you later then"
"Sure, thank you"
And then, the call went off.
