Goodbye Susan 2

Jenny bent to the gravestone and placed a small white flower and placed two gold bracelets on. She wiped her tears and stood upright.

Her hands clenched and unclenched as she tried to keep herself together.

"I can't bring myself to say goodbye. It means I am bidding you farewell and I don't want that. Do you really have to go sis? Could you not have stayed a little longer? It's so unfair. Mom is proving to everyone one that she is strong while we know she is hurting deeply. Is this what you want for all of us"

Jenny was talking as if Susan is there. Her voice broke and her face became pale.

This was going to hurt the hardest.

"Please wake up sis. This is too cruel. Please don't leave us now. Not like this"

Jenny whispered. Her legs gave out on her so she sat on the ground.

She started crying harder again and buried her face in her hands.

Zain's heart clutched watching her cry like that and he was tempted to pull her away from there but on second thought decided to leave her. She has the right to grieve.

"Crying would not bring you back yet I wished it could, I would cry a river for you to get up from this cold place you are lying now"

She paused to wipe her face then continue,

"I guess it is goodbye. Rest on Sis. I am sorry I am in love with your husband"

Jenny wiped her tears and after gathering herself together, she stood up. Zain pulled her to himself and led her to his car.

Every single person walked to their various cars and got in then left the cemetery leaving one man behind, Dr Emmanuel.

He closed his eyes and sighed deeply before walking towards the grave. He kneeled down on one knee and removed something from inside his pocket.

He laid his hand on the dirt and waited until he felt that something moving. He smiled softly and placed the small box onto the soil and rose to his feet.

He watched the hole fill until it finally hid everything he could remember about Susan. His lips curved up into a sad smile. That was his only link to Susan now and he didn't mind.

"I was able to be the bad guy I was once again because of you and I did not regret sleeping with you. If you could come back, I would kill to have you and just know that I would do anything to have you back, by all means. If it means going beyond science and life, while I try to figure out how to get you out of this cold place, the sense of life will keep your body in place. I will come back for you, just hold on."

He walked away from the gravesite and headed to his car.

Before getting into the car, he turned and looked at the grave once again,

"Hold on dear"

With that,he drove away.

The cemetery turned quiet and Susan slowly manifested on her grave then pulled the box out with a snap of her hand.

"I would not allow you to experiment with my body. Bad for you, before you come back, My body will be long rotten and there will be no need for you to use it."

She said and vanished, leaving the box on the graveside

Jenny's point of view ....

The house felt so lonely and calm. The night was fast approaching and I could not believe that my dearest sister had been laid to rest.

It's not been quite long since we got back from the cemetery. I did know why Zain buried her so fast but it was good anyway. She needs to rest. That's the least we could give her.

I took a deep breath as the tears were threatening again.

"Are you ok? Zain's voice called me back into reality.

I nodded as I wiped away the tears and looked at him. He had a concerned face on and was still wearing his coat and boots.

I was actually standing in the living room and facing one of the windows. Zain walked to me and encircled me in his arms.

I held back any sob and instead let go a small smile. He kissed my cheek then said,

"Come sit down." I nodded and allowed him to lead me to one of the couch. He put an arm around my shoulder.

"Look at the brighter side of this, we can be together without thinking of who you are to hurt" he whispered.
