Love Waits

    I took in a deep breath and looked around in search of my phone. I did not find it, I quietly got down from the bed, not wanting to wake Zain up. I picked his big shirt and wore it then stepped out of the room. The last place I used the phone was in the kitchen so it should be there.

   I had not even text Lucas to tell him not to come and I need to do that ASAP.

     I got to the kitchen and found the kitchen cleaned up. It could be mom or Tasha that cleaned it up.

   I picked the phone and left the kitchen, passing through the dining room, I heard noises coming from the living room. The Tv was on, which can explain the noise. I went to see if it was mom or any other person.

    I found Tasha engrossed on her phone and because I did not want her to notice I was in sight, I started tiptoeing out of the living room. 

  "Congratulations dear friend?"

"Oh shit!"

   I cursed and slowly turned around to see her smiling at me. There was nothing in her smile, just a friend who is happy for her friend but I refused to believe that expression. 

  "Hi"

   I said nervously and she stood up,

    *I did not get the chance to say congratulations to you. I am happy for you. I can't believe that after all the rollercoaster of emotions Zain had put you through, you still love him this much"

She was judging me.

   "Thank you, Tasha, love waits and I am happy I waited for Zain. We might have made mistakes, we all do. No one is perfect and we can't hold on to the grudges of the past.

     I know Zain's actions were rash and cruel towards me but deep inside I knew he loved me too and only me. So I am giving us a chance,I have to try."

    I said all that with a tint of unhappiness in my voice. The last thing Tasha should do right now is judge me. She should know me better because she was there all along. She knows my history with Zain.

  She smiled again and shook her head.

   "It is fine. I understand you perfectly well and I am sorry I am being judgmental. It just baffles me how you are not seeing the handwriting clearly. Men don't change, they are the same everywhere. A man who dumped you once will do the same again if the chance presents itself. Anyway I am happy for you" Tasha patted my shoulder reassuringly.

   And she really meant it. She truly was happy for me, but I didn't buy it, I knew she was hiding under the expression she is happy for me

"Thanks but no thanks Tash." I smiled and walked back to Zain's room. He was still in the position I left.

  I smiled, shaking my head.

"He is such a big baby"

   I walked into the bathroom to have a bath. While I was waiting for the tub to full up, I stared at myself in the mirror.

  My face was blushed and my lips looking more pinkish.

    My cheek heated up when I remembered the hot sex Zain and I had after the proposal. I smiled shyly remembering the whole event. 

    The kiss felt good. I missed him already.

I slowly felt the need to tell Ms Celine about my engagement.

   She picked the first ring, which is unusual unless the twins are sleeping. I was calling her on video call. I had missed her and I could use this opportunity to see her face

"Hi Ms Celine" I greeted politely, holding my breath waiting for her answer.

"Hello! sweet Jenny" She answered kindly, her eyes glued to my face. "Why is your face so red?"

  She asked, narrowing her eyes.

  I opened and closed my mouth. I did not even know what to tell her." And why are you on a man's shirt?"

"Ms Celine really?"

 I questioned innocently, scratching my head. 

  "You are wearing a ring, Jenny?"

"What the heck? She did wait for me to tell her before she asked? Why is she this observant?"

    I cleared my throat and looked down,

"I got engaged to Zain"

   I said softly. Her eyes softened immediately and she giggled , "So finally Zain has done the right thing. You deserve the best my dear."

"Thank you Ms Celine. I don't know what I would have done without you. You are one in a million"

I said gratefully, almost tearing up. Some people are just Angels sent to our lives and Ms Celine is my own Angel.

   "I love you darling and you know this. Your happiness is my priority, I will stand for you in everything you do. You know you are not alone right?" 

I nodded " Yes, thank you so much"
