Replacement

Tasha's point of view…

I had my phone in my left hand while I paced around the room. To think it's taking too long before I could hear Zain razing down the house with his voice made me want to punch something.   It looks like I am going to be disappointment because I am not sure about it anymore. I mean, he said nothing when he came back from wherever he went to and happily took the mother in law to the airport.

He still did not say anything when he returned.

"What kind of man is he?"

I wondered, stamping my feet on the floor.

I was beginning to get more pissed off.

"What were you thinking Tasha? That after seeing that guy here, he would be mad? you seem to forget that he loves Jenny so much and something like that would not make him flinch. You need to try harder than this."

My mind screamed at me and I swear, it's not far from the truth.

"I will keep trying until I get my desired results"

I assured myself.

Writer's point of view…..

Lunch was long over for Mrs Kingston, her guests and Kulture. Baby Claire has been sleeping since but this time around, in the arms of Owen. He had begged to hold her and Kulture has agreed which Mrs Kingston has not seems to disagree. Francis has no idea why Owen would hold onto to the baby without letting go, Owen, himself have no idea. At some point, Francis has made an attempt to carry her a little but Owen has blatantly refused, surprising everyone.

They were all seated in the living room relaxing and discussing random stuff.

"Owen, don't you think it's time I help you see the city or you are postponing it?"

Kulture asked after waiting for Owen to bring up the topic. She really wants to show him around while her mother is around to take care of baby Claire.

Owen wanted to object but on second thought, he decided he would need the air.

"I totally forgot about it. Let me take Claire to the room then we will go. We need to be fast for you who has got a job"

Kulture smiled with a wave of her hands.

"Don't tease me like that"

She said getting up and walking to him," let me help you will Claire. You know you are a guy so you might lie her the wrong way"

Owen allowed here to take the baby after glaring at her which gained chuckles from Francis and Mrs Kingston. Kulture shook her head as she walked away with baby Claire in her arms.

  "You both behave like kids"

Mrs Kingston said, indirectly telling him that Kulture and him look good together. Owen kind of got the gist and laughed,

"Stubborn girls like her would bring you to their levels."

He stated then chuckled. Francis and Mrs Kingston exchanged glances then started laughing. Owen was lost and when he could not understand why they were laughing, he joined them instead and right that moment, Mrs Kingston and Francis stopped laughing and stared at Owen in amusement.

Owen stopped laughing and stared from Mrs Kingston to Francis, "What?"

"Nothing, we are just wondering why you are laughing"

Francis replied amused.

Owen realized that he should not have laughed when he had no idea why they were laughing. It is really childish of him but who cares anyway. What matters is that he was able to laugh despite his heavy heart.

"Oh!" was all he could said as he stood up then grabbed his phone" Please tell Kulture to meet me outside"

Mrs Kingston and Francis watched him with pitiful expressions.

"Make sure to have fun alright"

Mrs Kingston yelled after him. He only replied with a smile

The sun was bright above and below the sky, it was clear blue. There was some clouds flying across the sky. He sighed " If only there is something I can do, I would have done it Susan. I don't think I will ever get over you"

"Sure you will, Life is too beautiful to wallow in sadness. I believe she is in a beautiful place right now"

Owen turned towards Kulture then nodded at her,

"I am sure she is. Let's go"

Kulture walked up to him and took his hands in hers and they headed out like a couple.

Susan stood and watched them walk away. She was not smiling at all.

"I know you could do something if you can. It warms my heart to see that you really loved me. But this lady is not a good replacement for me. Her star is tied with someone else. I hope you see that soon enough."

She said sadly then turned and disappeared.
