"I'm just offering you a chance to pay back Zain for what he did to you. You should be thanking me, you know?"
I huffed and furiously wiped my tears.
"A man like you is not supposed to be close to anyone. I once held you in a high esteem but not anymore. I want you to know one thing, you might have have the last laugh today but someday I'm going to look you in the face and have the last laugh, that's my promise to you"
He chuckled and came behind me,"I am waiting patiently for that day but as you and wait for that day, make no mistake of getting back to Zain, the consequences will be severe if you do"
He whispered wrapping an arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him."If you think I can't do anything, try me"
My sobs turned into sobs of rage, hatred, anger and fear; all of which were being held in check by nothing more than sheer willpower. I tried to push him away but his grip remained strong. He brought his hand to my face and because I was blinded by my tears, I did not realize he was coming for my nose, the last thing I remember before blacking out was his victorious smirk.
Tasha's point of view….
Since I got off the phone with Zain, I have been constantly hissing. The guy is a pain in the ass. How Jenny ended up with him is what I can't tell. Love could make you end up with people who has no maturity in them.
"Men! Gosh!"
I hissed again as I fling the phone across the couch. As it landed on the couch, it started ringing. Something told me that it could be Tessy. I rushed to the phone with enthusiasm but as I picked the phone, the huge smile I had on turned into a frown. His likes are the reasons I don't want to have phone.
"Hello Felix, how may I help you?"
"Is this the new way of greeting?"
He asked instead of replying my question.
"You can as well call it that. How do people greet? I thought you started by saying hello. So was there nothing wrong with the way I greeted you?"
My voice wasn't raising but it was getting louder by the second when he doesn't reply right away.
"Tasha, why are you always this way? You don't even know me yet each time I call you it feels like you don't want to have anything to do with me. I have not said anything yet you are being this girl. what's going on? I'm just calling to check up on you, not like I'm calling you to come hang out with me which I would have done if you have picked up the phone nicely." He answered calmly.
His voice made me calm down. My mood changed quickly from angry to confused at his words. It didn't take long until I realised what I did. Why am I being like this.
'How is Mrs Shylin?"
I asked trying to change the topic.
I thought you will never asked. She is good and she is asking after you which I don't know why"
He replied after a while.
"Why does she ask about me?"
That surprised me for some reason.
"Well I guess she wants to meet you again "
I did not believe him. I know Mrs Shylin is a nice old lady but if there is anyone she likes it's Jenny. Even the last time I was at her shop, she had asked after Jenny.
"I am not sure she wants to see me again"
I whispered on the phone.
"why don't you find out. Come to to ice cream shop later?"
He stated and hung up without waiting to hear what I had to say. Is he being serious right now?
I stared at the phone longer than necessary. I am not a child not to know that Felix is hitting on me and inviting me to the coffee shop is his way of luring me to see him but my mind was not objecting the invitation which is strange. Even how I reacted earlier was strange, I grew from being annoyed to feeling guilty. He is handsome, sweet and kind. If we are together, our life would be amazing. We would probably love each other deeply.
Arggghhhhhh!" I screamed, hitting my forehead.
"You are forbidden to have such thought"
I cautioned myself.
"You don't like boys remember?"
I tried talking with myself but I failed miserably as my voice cracked.
After a moment of hesitation, I finally stood up from the couch and put on my coat and headed towards the door. I grabbed the handle before turning around, I walked slowly back towards the phone and grabbed it from where it was lying and headed out of the house.
I told myself I was going for some fresh air but I knew that's a lie, I was actually going to the ice cream shop.
