Mummy's Boy

Writer's point of view….

Michael threw the last stone into the stream as he heard giggling behind him. It was not mistakenly that the giggles belongs to his twin sister and he is sure she is with Leon as well.

"Michael, whenever I found you here it means something out of ordinary happened today and it doesn't always happen all the time"

Mitchell said and plugged herself beside him. Leon stood and watched the siblings. He admires the kind of relationship these two have. If you don't know them well you will always misunderstand them.

"You are intruding, Mitch. You both are not supposed to be here"

Michael said instead of answering his sister's question.

Michael is not the kind of a regular guy you see around. He is normal but behaves differently. It might shock you to know that it's just three persons that know about the existence of this little stream at the back of the school and that's Micheal, Mitchell and Leon. Micheal made it possible for the other two to know about it and ever since they got to know about it, they never let it out to the world. The school authority might be aware but you see any other students knowing, the answer is no.

"I don't see why that will happen, twin bro. I did not see you at the cafeteria and your classmates admitted that you have been behaving abnormal today, not that you behave normal anyway. Checking up on my only brother is never a crime" she responded nudging him on the arm.

"Cheal, did something happen today? What's with the mood? Is it about Casey again?"

Leon's voice was laced with concern for his best friend.

"Leon, don't worry, I am good." Michael responded, trying to sound reassuring.

"I am not sure, what is it?" Mitch questioned pushing further. Michael looked at Leon hoping he would help him get the word out from him but Leon was clueless as to what is bothering Michael so he can't help him without being told what the problem is.

"I am just not very happy at the moment" Michael answered.

That's as much as he wanted to say. He felt his sister looking at him intensely with an unreadable expression but he refused to look back.

Mitchell and Leon exchanged looks with one another and Michael could feel them wanting to speak to each other but held it back and waited to hear what he had to say but he was not even ready to talk about it. He doesn't even know what's wrong, he just found his mood messed up after the new student was introduced.

"If there is something bothering you Michael, we want to know"

"Leon, I appreciate your care and concern but I am fine. I just want to be like this"

Michael insisted.

They stayed silent for a while until Mitchell spoke up again.

"If that is what you want then, we won't push you. Just so you know, I am always here to listen to you. If anyone should understand you, it has to be me"

For once she did not feel the need to pressurize him to say anything.

  "He will come around"

She thought and stood up then turned and started leaving.

"Come on Leon, let's go. He will find himself to class"

Mitchell said, walking away. Michael could detect the sadness in his sister's voice and he felt bad about it.

Leon nodded at Mitchell and looked at his friend one more time,"Dude, let's go. Class is in five minutes"

  "I am right behind you"

Michael mentioned and Leon left. He caught up to Mitchell and both walked back into the school building.

After a while,he stood up and headed back into the school. He was wishing for the school hour to be over so that he can go home and probably use his mom"s lap for a while. Michael is into Jenny more than Mitchell and therefore he is the mummy's boy.

Walking into the class, it was rowdy as usual. Most of the students were back into the class leaving just a few and among those few, Casey has to be one of them. Michael, realizing that she is not in class, sighed instead of being worried.

The class totally ignored him as he walked towards his seat. He stopped walking when he found a pair of eyes watching him, it was the new girl. She had this huge fear in her eyes and from the look of things, she had not left her seat or the class. Without thinking, Michael walked over to her and pulled her up then started dragging her out of the class to everyone's amazement.
