Writer's point of view...
Claire stood at a corner as she watched Susan distract the security. School wasn't over yet but she managed to sneak out of her class. But leaving the school she will need help and that's what Susan is doing.
She has been reckless since morning and the best way to clear her conscience is to go see Noah. She can't do it after school because her uncle might come to pick her or one of the family drivers.
Susan waved at Claire and she walked briskly towards the school exit gate. Claire was so glad that she successfully made it out of the school unnoticed. She smiled at Susan who nodded at her as both began walking away.
Susan, for once, had hung around at Claire's school and when she saw how guilty Claire was feeling, she decided to help her. She could not bear the thought of Claire moping around. She kind of concluded that the reason she was at Claire 's school was for this same reason.
"Susan, I hope he would not throw me out of his mansion"
Claire said sadly and Susan chuckled.
"I am not sure he will. People are not really who they present to others"
Claire didn't respond to Susan's words but instead kept quiet and followed closely behind Susan.
"But what will I tell him now if I get to his place"
The anxiousness in her voice was evident that Susan felt for her daughter. She wished she could hug her and tell her that it's going to be alright, that she is doing the right thing.
"You don't have to say anything, just apologize and hopefully when you get home, you talk to your uncle about it"
Susan suggested and it sounded like a good plan to Claire but on second thought she decided not to feel guilty. After all, he was the one who bullied her.
It is well deserved for him.
"I don't need his validation. If he doesn't want to see me, fine."
She replied looking down as they continued to walk. Silence greeted them and it intensified with each step that they took.
"Claire, maybe you should just leave him alone. You don't need to go see if he is mad or not. IF I recall, you did not send him out of the school"
Susan remarked after a while of walking but Claire shook her head.
"No, this isn't something I can let be. I want to see him to clear my heart, Susan"
Claire stated and they continue walking in silence again.
They were about half way back to the estate when Susan stopped dead in her tracks and Claire ran into her back and went through her.
The next thing Claire did was to start laughing,"You seem to forget for a moment that you are a ghost. Were you expecting me to bump into you back?"
The joke was needed because both found themselves laughing.
"That's my girl, nothing has to make you sad"
Susan thought as she looked ahead once again.
" Of course not. Now let's go and kick some ass if we have to"
She added and Claire giggled
After a few minutes of walking, Claire and Susan arrived at the FORD mansion. From the look of things, the security around the mansion is very tight. The big silver transparent gate looked like something that will be seen in another realm.
The guards in suits, wearing sunglasses and carrying guns, were everywhere.
The big gates opened automatically as soon as they approached. They stepped inside, passing through a few guards with a smile that they nodded back at them and then, there was nothing but silence.
Claire yet had another thought of going back and again decided she has to see Noah since she is already inside.
She approached the entrance with huge fears in her eyes. The man at the entrance screened her from head to toes. He lifted up his eyes to her face when he was done scrutinizing her,"SPRING HIGH?"
It was obvious because of her uniform.
Claire quickly nodded her head in response.
"I believe you are a friend of Noah and you want to see him?"
The man in the suit asked and yet again she nodded. This man interrogating her doesn't look scary but his aura is intimidating.
Claire just has this thing of not being able to talk whenever she is meeting someone for the first time so it's not about the man being scary.
