Double Trouble

   Noah has been up since 8pm, lying on his bed with time ticking by. The rest of his day, he spent it in his room. His friends had stepped by after school but he refused to see any of them. Mrs Cassidy has done everything possible to make him come out of this sulking state, all to no avail.

  He had wanted nothing but to hear from his dad and he is yet to call which is something that has not happened before. No matter where Harrison is, immediately it's 7pm, he calls his son. So instead of Noah being angry Harrison had not call, he was worried. 

 Noah had maintained he would not call but as it is now, he has no choice than to call and see if his dad is okay. Regardless of everything, he loves Harrison. Even though he hated him at times he still loved him. So, calling is what he has to do.

  Noah picked up the phone and placed it next to his ear and waited patiently for a response.

The call connected and Noah smiled at the sound of his fathers voice.

"Hey buddy"

"Hey Dad! Are you okay?

Noah asked concerned

"Yeah, I'm fine Noah. Don't worry about me. Are you okay, son?"

Noah chuckled,"Never been better. I am well, just missed you and you not calling, I thought you are in some sort of trouble"

Harrison felt bad, this is the first time Noah had called to say these things to him. It means his son was really worried. He did not know how to feel about it.

  He is aware of the hatred his son has for him but he can't do anything to change his mind, he has not been a good father and maybe, getting married would change Noah's prospect of him. Hopefully, Jenny will be a great mother to Noah even though she hates him with passion.

  "I am fine. Sorry I did not call earlier but I was going to call anyway. I had things to do."

"It's fine dad, I understand you are a business person. I will let you to rest now"

Noah said and made to hang the call but Harrison stopped him.

  "Cassidy said you are having issues in school, what did you do?"

Noah hesitated to answer, eventually he did answer.

  "I bullied a girl and her uncle was displeased with it so he made the school authority to suspend me"

A frown etched itself onto his forehead when he heard what was being told to him by his son. Cassidy said his son had issues in school but never mentioned Noah was suspended.

"What! why would the school suspend you without hearing from me first. Did they understand who you are?"

Harrison asked furiously.

"Dad, calm down. it's no big issue, after all it's my fault"

  "And so what? even if you are wrong they have no right to suspend you. I will have to do something about this"

Noah sighed deeply. He was afraid it will amount to this.

"I'm sorry dad but I think you should not do anything. I am fine and before you know it,I will be back to school"

Harrison disagreed with his son and stood on his ground in doing something to the school and the unfortunate person who caused his son to be suspended.

 "Who is the bas**d responsible for this?"

There was silence on Noah's end.

"Answer me!"

Harrison yelled across the phone causing Noah to flinch. Noah wasn't sure if it's a good idea to tell his dad who the person is. If he tells him, that means trouble for Claire which will cause Claire to hate him more and that's the last thing he wants.

  "Dad, forget about the person"

"Why should I? Okay, if you don't want to tell me, fine. I will find out myself and that means double trouble for the person and family"

 Noah knew he had to tell the truth, if not, double trouble for Claire like his dad said. He hopes that he can find a way to bear the consequences when trouble arises because surely, they will. And again, to be lucky enough to get Claire's forgiveness. He really likes her.

  "It's Claire Zidat,Dad?"

Noah whispered and Harrison went speechless. Last person he had expected to hear was one. The problem now is, why would Noah bully the child of his first love?

  The silence was enough to send chills down Noah's soul. He imagined what his dad would say after the awkward silence.
