People Change

"What happened to your voice that you could not invite me in and why are you squeezing your face, young lady?"

Claire looked away as she avoided Kulture gaze, instead her gazed travelled to the nightie Kulture was wearing. It's kind of amused Claire to see her aunt dressing like she dressed now. It's unlike her to wear nighties instead of pajamas but what's the difference?

Kulture stopped right in Claire's front as she regards her niece for a while.

"Are you still angry with me because of what happened yesterday, hmm?"

Claire rolled her eyes and continued to look away.

Kulture chuckled and turned Claire's face to look at hers.

"I suddenly don't like strangers touching my son. Francis would not be happy if he hears that a stranger touched his beloved son"

Susan gasped, covering her mouth but released it when she remembered that no one can see her except Claire.

"What is she trying to do? I hope she is not about to tell my poor child the truth"

She panicked.

Claire did not understand what Kulture was talking about and yet she wasn't ready to ask her to explain.

One thing baffles her and that's why Kulture suddenly changed towards her, she did not only change but she is now calling her a stranger. She knows for the fact that she doesn't connect to any one of the Kingston's family members, that doesn't mean she loves them less. In fact she loves her grandma a lot, only that she doesn't know how to show it or that her emotions often get in her attitude.

"Auntie, good morning. I hope you slept well?"

Claire broke away from Kulture's stare as she spoke politely to Kulture. Kulture raised an eyebrow at her and frowned deeply, before responding.

  "of course my dear"

"That's great auntie, why are you here?"

Claire asked and Susan smiled beautifully that Claire successfully changed the topic. Her heart has been in her hands thinking Kulture was going to say what she is not supposed to say.

"Well, I thought I should check on my niece and see how she is doing this morning"

Kulture replied grinning. Claire share a glance with Susan then smiled at Kulture.

"Okay, I am good. I will get on with my morning and come say hello to grandma and grandpa"

"You better do"

Kulture pinched her cheeks and left the room.

"People change and you ask why"

Claire mumbled and threw herself on the bed.

"I tell you why, because change is the only constant thing in life. Those that truly loves you will not change how they behave towards you, no matter the cause of time"

 "I know. Stop lecturing me"

Both giggled and silence engulfed the room.

Outside the door, Kulture leaned against the wall. She had overheard what Claire said a while again and also all that she said when she first arrived at the door. Her voice was quite loud and it looked like she was talking with someone. When she got into the room, she had expected to see someone but saw nothing and that kind of bothered her.

"Was she really talking to anyone or is it just my mind playing tricks with me?"

Kulture asked herself and decided to ignore it for later.

"Mom!"

Her son yelled and she walked towards her room at the left wing to attend to him.

Tasha felt something hard but soft pressing against her back and groaned. She was hissing nonstop yet her eyes would not open to know what is disturbing her sleep. She hates to be disturbed like this. As she could not bear it anymore, she stirred and opened her eyes, her nostril hit the feminine perfume and she realized who was on her back.

"What the hell is Catherine doing lying on my back for morning sake?"

She growled and Catherine chuckled and rolled over to the other side of the bed.

'I am glad to know your sense of smell is still high. You can smell someone's destiny from a mile away"

Catherine joked.

"Tsk!tsk!! tsk!!! What are you doing in my room this morning, Catherine?"

Tasha asked with her eyes half closed. Finding out that it was Catherine, she decided to go back to sleep but will Catherine allow her?

Instead of Catherine to reply, she kissed Tasha.

Tasha pushed her away from her and sat up on the bed.

Catherine watched her in amusement. Tasha looked away and tried standing but Catherine held her wrist tightly.
